The atmosphere was nice, but it has no identity. You have sports on the two TVs and Wheel of fortune on the big screen, Wheel of fortune, really? Food is average at best, it's nothing to go out of the way for, since you have similar food establishments around. The poor service is the most that stands out, there was a 30 minute wait, however multiple table were open. It would be easy to seat multiple parties of two and four without the wait. The service is slow, I mean really slow, our waitress didn't check on us after the food was served and two dishes with fries and we had to ask for ketchup. I asked for a print of the receipt and she quickly disappeared to troll for tips at other tables that were ignored. The only time our waitress was attentive was when I was paying the bill. The table near us ordered milkshakes and one was 1/3 empty with lots of whip cream one was overflowing with no whipped cream, obviously no attention to details. This place is a must skip, you can find better. read more

This is a fun new spot in Shawnee Hills worth checking out. I've been several times and have always enjoyed the food, but the service has been consistently bad. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar for dinner and experienced some of the worst service I've ever encountered. Right from the start, we waited 10 minutes before asking a busboy (apologies if that's not the correct title) if we could see a menu. During this time, no one approached us to take drink orders or even greeted us. Another 15 minutes passed before I managed to flag down a waiter who had just started her shift to ask if we could be waited on. Instead of taking our order she said she would have to look up who would be taking care of us. We get waited on for the first time 35 min into our night sitting at the bar. When our food came out, it did not have silverware or napkins. Throughout our wait, employees walked past us the entire time, including the staff member who eventually served us. The restaurant wasn't busy, and unfortunately, this isn't the first time we've had issues with the service here. read more

I like the idea of the restaurant and they have a lot of options, but it's pretty pricey. I tried a glass of wine and the spinach salad with shrimp and chicken. The wine didn't have much flavor, and the salad only had three small shrimp and not much chicken. Service was great. Food was awful. Ambiance was good. Music was not loud so our party of seven could hear our conversation as the restaurant was half-full on a Thursday summer night. I had the walleye sandwich, which tasted like cardboard. Apparently they put chilies in the sauce to give it some tang, but tarter sauce would have done more to give it some zest. Fries were good. Water tasted like chlorine. One had a tuna salad. Not very tasty. One had mac & cheese - very good! My wife had a simple salad--awful. My granddaughter had a hamburger. It was dry and tasteless. We live around the corner and made it out for the grand opening. Beer was great, food was great, and our server was great. It's payed out very well and has a great porch area. We were very excited to visit the Shawnee Station Taproom. We had heard flattering reviews about their seafood items. We went Sunday evening at 7:00pm. The actual building & decor is absolutely stunning. Maybe it may be a better experience the next time, if we come back. First, we started with the Blue Crab Pimento Cheese. Frankly, the "crispy naan" was so hard as to almost be impossible to be chewed. As for the Entree . . . I attempted to order the Spicey Pork Chop. The server stated they were out. I ended up ordering a Caesar Salad with anchovies. I added Hangar Steak on the side. The entree arrived. While there were a couple present, I was unimpressed with the size of the anchovy. Another person in our party ordered the 8oz Chimichurri Hangar Steak with Smashed Potatoes. The steak was certainly far from 8 ounces in size and there were three petite fingerling potatoes. Underwhelming and unfilling. Finally, during our meal, another person in our party mentioned to the server she'd like the dessert menu. The server informed the person the restaurant no longer served desserts. It was 7:45pm; the restaurant closes at 9:00pm. Ridiculous! In closing, the Shawnee Station Taproom is a noticeable upgrade to the former Bogey across the street. However, the experience was very disappointing. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch, let the hostess know I was there to eat. I was seated at a comfortable hi-top, and left with two drink menus. No food listed. My server brought two glasses of water (I was alone), with straws. Who drinks water with a straw? So, I asked for a food menu. Settled on the walleye sandwich and a beer from Maumee Brewing. Beer wad decent and apparently it was Happy Hour. Sandwich came pretty quickly. Served with a side of fries that were great. But somewhere between Lake Erie and Dublin that fish morphed into an over-fried tasteless carp. Too much bun, too much breading and way over-cooked. As a bar/watering hole this place will probably do well enough, but the dining menu is extremely limited and uninspired. Don't see myself going back, certainly not with my wife. I will say my server was fantastic, well-trained and very upbeat! Staff seemed happy and engaged. read more

The potential is real. The menu is exciting, but could use a few more vegetarian options. The service still feels like it's working out kinks. Some motions like sending out multiple waitstaff to deliver the meal is a nice touch like a fine dining experience, but what is missed is the little notices of empty beer and wine glasses waiting for another. The steaks are very high quality beef, cooked perfectly to order. Some of the sandwiches are a bit dry and just meh. The starters are also a mix. Some are Devine and others feel flat. The salads were very nice, but the beer salad could be a bit bigger. Across the board it feels like it's still early days and the vision will come to life. I'm rooting for this place, but will need to see the overall experience better match the decor (which is beyond amazing for the area). For now it's a 3 star and something we'll try again to see if things improve. If they do, you know I'll update this review. If not, it's a great place to sit outside and have some drinks and food, but may not be your weekly top desire. read more

This is the best new restaurant to hit the Columbus area since Kitchen Social. Located in the Dublin area close to the Zoo and Murfield across from the old Bogey Inn, this place is a home run and hits on all aspects of service, food, atmosphere and libations. We went about a week after they opened on a Friday. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and told the wait time. We had one of their craft beers and a signature cocktail in the bar at happy hour pricing. Maumee Brewing beers are on tap. We were seated quicker than quoted. The menu construction is outstanding with fresh ingredients, selection and pricing. The restaurant has a modern open kitchen and food ticket times were spot on as the food was coming out quick. We got a pretzel that is big with a nice presentation and shareable. We also got the cauliflower crust pizza with mushrooms and the best we have ever tasted. My wife and I split the walleye sandwich with pepper slaw and I got seafood chowder as a side. The walleye was excellent and had a nice crunch and the freshness of the avocado and pepper slaw were a nice balance. The service was friendly and efficient. What sets this restaurant apart is quality craft beer, excellent food, quality wine options, indoor and outdoor space, excellent service and the knowledge, experience and classic culinary training both owners have. If you are tired of food trucks at the local brewery or chain restaurants then you need to come here and you will not be disappointed. read more

What a great experience we had this evening! The food was amazing and the service was over the top. Shawnee Station is a beautiful place with a great outdoor patio and the atmosphere is festive. We met the general manager and he is so engaging and making sure that everyone enjoys themselves. The menu is unique and different from the normal chain restaurants we are accustomed to. Don't usually leave reviews. But felt an urge to for this. We got there when it opened at 3 PM. Waited in line for a few minutes. And was hoping to sit outside because it was a nice day. The front staff person who looked like a manager, essentially refused to sit us outside, stating that he did not have any two tops available, which we really didn't understand what this meant, there were several tables available outside, more than half. We were with our baby. We were the first one seated inside, and really didn't want to sit inside thus left and no accommodation was made even as we were leaving. Seems surprising to do this as it is a new location really haven't had this issue anywhere in Columbus before. read more

Horrible food. Absolutely no seasoning on everything I ordered, not even salt. Chicken wings were advertised as crispy. They were not. Had no flavor at all. Look, ignore the negative comments... This place is awesome. Super friendly staff/waiters, great food, great beer, great atmosphere. My wife and I have been several times already and plan on going again soon. The blue crab and pimento cheese dip is delicious, so are the flatbreads. My favorite app, though, are the chicken tenders (called Nashville Hot tenders, I think). So amazing! I've had the burger and the walleye sandwich, both were great. Wife had the crispy chicken sandwich which was delicious. The Buckeye beer and the Golden ale (can't remember the name) are awesome. I do agree that they could use a bit more selection when it comes to type of beers on tap. I'd like to see some darker beers other than an Irish stout and dopplebock. Red ales, brown ales, nut ales, etc... are all great year round. That being said, it's not worth taking a star off the review (lol). To wrap it up, I have been pleasantly surprised by the service. The hostesses, servers, and bartenders have all been incredibly friendly and welcoming. That makes a huge difference, to me at least. All-in-all a great place! read more
