I used to love to go to this local pumpkin patch. It had fair prices and was old school / homey. I was so disappointed to see they added a petting zoo, (last year I think) Petting zoos are notorious for ill treatment of animals, and animals are not for entertainment. The ponies look stressed and misreable and the kids screaming and slap petting the other animals was too much for me. Sorry Shawn's I wish you wouldn't have tried to become a mini mega patch. read more

I love that the locations are close to us. There is quite a few locations. The best I have to say is the one on Jefferson. It's super large and has a bunch of different activities and a variety of pumpkins. This one is quite small and does still have a selection but very limited. My kids really wanted the pony rides and unfortunately they didn't have it available. They only had one carnival ride and adults weren't allowed on it. The kids did enjoy it though. We also did the giant slide which they enjoyed. Parking there was a hassle. We had to wait for a car to come out for us to park. I think I would stick with the larger pumpkin patch for next year :) read more

We are so grateful that Shawn's Pumpkin Patch returned to our neighborhood (with social distancing, temperature checks, intense sanitization, and hand sanitizer absolutely everywhere). They have the most adorable petting zoo (baby pigs!), the sweetest ponies to ride, and a "train" that is an absolute blast for children. The reason I'm writing this review is to celebrate the staff. My daughter and I visited on Saturday and Sunday and on both days the staff and owner were all incredibly friendly and welcoming in spite of working in 90+ degree heat, in masks, while laboring twice as hard as usual to sanitize absolutely everything. Every single employee was kind, generous, and sweet to the hoards of children running through the pumpkin patch. Everything is very affordable, there are fabulous sugary snacks for the kiddos, many great games, and a straw maze that is absolutely ideal for a Halloween photoshoot. If you go, tip the staff and owner (or at least thank them profusely). They are doing A LOT to make this holiday season happen for us right now. read more

No. Don't do it. Too much standing around waiting in long lines. Too many people. Too expensive. You're better off taking the kids to Knotts Berry Farm or some other amusement park where the lines are equally as long and the price isn't far from the same. Won't be coming back next year. My kids spent more time being miserable waiting in the lines than they did actually having fun with the "attractions". It's cool that the admission is free tho.....probably the only plus oh and you can buy food with the tokens. read more

Pumpkin patch 2020 experience during pandemic: Can't beat free entrance when other pumpkin patch charges at least $5-$25/per person entrance fee. We arrived 10 minutes before opening time of 10:00am on a saturday morning to avoid crowd. The place is small but my kid definitely had fun. It's $3/per token, 1 token per activity except for horse ride which is 2 tokens. We rode the mini train, went around the pumpkin patch twice at $3/per person. Limited activities such as 1. Staw maze (free) 2. Decorations/photo ops 3. Train ride 4. Sand art 5. Arcade games (ring toss, fish bowl toss and rubber duckie fishing) 6. Petting zoo 7. Pony ride (opens at 11am). Staff are friendly, hand sanitizers everywhere, tenperature check on your wrist, social distance marks while waiting to get in, people are practicing social distancing and wearing masks, not much crowd in the morning, hand washing station available. The line might be a long wait, but in my opinion it was worth it! I got there around 5:30pm and we got in around 7pm. The pumpkin patch closed at 8pm that day but we had a good amount of time to take pics and go in the petting zoo. Admission is free which is amazing, parking is free too. Inside it's fair priced. The pumpkins pricing ranged from $4-$30 (from what I saw). Overall great experience! The balloons are sold outside however, for those who may be wondering. Also it's pet friendly! And you can bring strollers in as well. They ask that you keep your mask on the whole time your in the pumpkin patch, which I'm very happy that they remind you about this rule before you go in and they have hand sanitizer in the front before you enter. read more

Wow! Wish I had gone here FIRST and not wasted my time (and $125) at Mr. Bones!!!!!! This place is the ONE. *Petting Zoo? Check! There were a lot of animals! Not just the expected goats but there was also a beautiful white llama. Adorable bunnies! And little piglets! The keeper was great and made sure the pen was clean before he let the children in. Major points. It took a little long....but, who wants their toddler stepping on poop?! *Bouncy House? Check! A large fun pumpkin one! My toddler enjoyed this more than the spider ones at Bones which scared her. *Other activities that I saw included rock climbing and tall slides. *There was also face painting (what's a pumpkin patch without this?!) *A trackless train ride around the patch. *Games where you could win prizes like at a carnival. (Huge goldfish tank, not sure if for sale or part of a prize you could win. Nonetheless, saw some kids happily walking away with theirs in a small container). *In the back, they have a play yard for younger children! Genius! Because not all the kids who go can participate in all their activities. It was nice that Shawn anticipated this and had an area set aside just for them. My 21month old really enjoyed this area also. Shawn's is not as big as Bones but the activities far exceeded theirs in hundredfolds!!!!!! Plus Shawn had more and much better/nicer photo-op stations setup throughout the patch. Thank you, Shawn's! My little angel had an amazing time. Will recommend you to everyone I can. You are about making people - children happy!!!! Not about making hundreds of dollars per family. Great time for the kids - You can spend a good couple hours here. They have many game options, slides, bounce house, a hay maze, face painting, etc.. This is a hard one. Sometimes it's better not to say anything than something not nice. Shawn's pumpkin patch is clearly a small business and the staff are really great!! It was nice to have it, as the alternative is nothing. No charge for admission, though as a enterprise it might make sense to charge a $1.00 per person. And use that money to offer some more. Again it's not bad and it was really nice to have somewhere to take photos, buy pumpkins etc. The food concession and cashiers for product and tickets all are clearly doing their best. But need help. The train ride was a hit. The animals were underwhelming for a petting zoo, and the overall experience was ok. Set a your expectation to a reasonable level. That is a such a nice place. My family liked to be there that last Sunday. My son Mark is just 2 y.o. So he enjoyed the time there so much. He loved to be in that little kids city and maze too! I like the pumpkins and of course the place with the farm animals. I gave four stars just because one rabbit bite me in my hand. I tried to feed him with the treats but Devil rabbit didn't like it and also that rabbit didn't like me too :)) That's so strange because I also was born in the rabbit year and I hoped that everything will be all right. I liked that everyone were friendly and even tried to help me by giving me a bandage with antibacterial cream. That was nice... Me and my family very enjoy the time there. First time here! We usually go to Mr. Bones and decided to go here instead because of the free admission, free parking and we wanted to support the family business. It was easy to find parking on a weekend. The place itself was pleasant and nicely decorated with more things to do than Mr. Bones (comparing from their last year's patch). We initially purchased 5 tokens (worth $20) My son had fun going to their attractions like the petting zoo, bouncy house and slide. The one star is for the slide. Each child gets 3 turns for 1 token. My son (who is a toddler, older than he looks) did his 3 turns and tried to climb back up again and me and my bf noticed and told him not to do that and to get down because his turn was over. Now here is the fun part: the attendant (Michelle I believe that's her name) went from 0-100 on our son. She was literally screaming and yelling at him to get down. She was so bothered about it. My bf told her to relax and that he would get him down. But no, Michelle did not care. She went on about how we should discipline our son better. WHAT??? My bf told her she needs to have more patience because she's literally tending to KIDS! Kids sometimes do NOT listen! What did she want us to do?? Hit our son?? Does she think she could just scream and yell at children like their her own kids? No lady!!! Michelle, if you are reading this, You cannot possibly work at a place where 99% of your customers are KIDS!! Toddlers for that matter. Do you really think all toddlers listen? They dont know any better! If you're a parent, you know how it is with kids! I get that they can be a pain sometimes but that's just how it is!!! They are CHILDREN!! We ended up bringing it up to Shawn's daughter Sabrina I believe and she really didn't try to do anything to remedy the situation but just said that she would talk to Michelle and that "she's usually nice". Well, she was not nice to us. Also, we also had just bought a second set of tokens and we had 4 left and instead of using it, we asked for a refund. They gave it to us (as they should). We're never coming back here because of one Karen. You honestly ruined everything! My son's birthday is in 2 days and you ruined his birthday week. I know you don't care and it's also because you are probably a relative just helping out at the patch but customers need to see this review. Y'all need to be better at customer service. I really hope you do not encounter someone else's parent that will go off at you and make you feel horrible. Don't help at the patch. We've been loyal to Shawn's for pumpkin patches and Christmas trees for the last 10 years, this is the first time I've been really disappointed. We tried to visit the pumpkin patch today, and I checked online to see what the covid protocols would be, and it clearly says on the very first pop-up when you enter their website they are requiring masks. When we arrived the pumpkin patch was packed with people, and the majority of them were not masked. The employees working the line to get in and the parking area were also not masked. I'm not trying to be a Karen here, and I understand that LA County is not requiring masks for outdoor activities, which is why I checked their website to see what their procedures are before attending, and they are explicitly advertising that they will require masks. They should understand that people are seeing that information they are giving out and planning based on that. If their website had simply said they aren't enforcing mask wearing of their guests or employees, because it's not required by LA county, as I see they have responded to another person who was concerned below, I understand. We would be bummed we couldn't make it, but we would have just held off this year and not walked our kids up to the gate only to have to tell them sorry we can't go in. Can you imagine their disappointment? I understand people can have different opinions on what activities they are personally comfortable with, and these can be difficult chooses to make, but I think especially when you're running a business which is going to be catering to crowds with children too young to be vaccinated, there is a responsibility to at the very least be accurate with the information you are putting out there on what safety measures you are taking, so your guests can make informed choices.
