Prices are competitive with local markets, produce could be a bit fresher,meat department is ok. Biggest complaint has to be the long checkout lines all the time. I can't believe that in the year 2021 they don't have any self-checkout registers. If I only need a couple of items I will drive the extra miles to Roche Bros Millis where they have 6 -8 self checkouts with never a line to avoid waiting in the Shaws "express only line" which is always 4 or more people long,with many going over the 12 items limit. The only major market that doesn't have self checkout in the area,and perhaps the State. Lets get with the times Shaws, Medway, its not 1980 anymore. read more

It's the worst. Always understaffed at both deli and checkout. Picked-over meat and produce sections resemble old Soviet Union. Trash on floor. Don't believe me? Check my photos. I was always a happy customer here, but they no longer have express lines. The employees explained to me that it's to "encourage" people to use self check out. So, basically, their attitude is "do it yourself or wait." I went in last night and there were zero check out lines open. Not one single cashier on duty. The only option was self check out. The girl tending the self check out claimed she was the only employee in the store, which everyone knew was not true, because there were more employees visible in the parking lot and in other areas of the store. Not her fault, she was probably instructed to tell people that. Imagine being a young woman and being required to tell people that you are ALONE in the store at night? There was an elderly man waiting with a full carriage near the deserted check out lines. He told me he was unable to use self check out, but they told him there were no cashiers. He said he had been waiting for a long time. I asked the girl to call for the manager. She repeated she was alone in the store. I told here again to call for the manager. She called for him, and a clerk finally came in from the parking lot to open a register and check out the elderly man. A few minutes later, the manager appeared and claimed he had been in the bathroom. I know help is hard to find these days. But in this case, there were employees there, and they just didn't feel like waiting on the customers. read more

I went to Shaw's this morning. I purchased Some cheese as I have been craving cheese. As I was eating the cheese I thought the cheese taste a little funny but disregarded. I soon realized that the cheese was moldy. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted. This is a health hazard. read more

I can't believe how amazing my sons birthday cake from Shaw's medway bakery came out. I had called 3 other local bakeries to see if the could get a cake done for my son's birthday but they said they were too busy. The lady that picked up the phone at this bakery was so amazing and helpful and made fantastic suggestions for my son's "shark birthday" cake when I described the cake toppers that I had already purchased. I was so thrilled at how amazing the cake turned out (and the matching cupcakes!). This will be my first call for our next birthday cake! I wish I could thank the cake artist personally!!! read more

Over the years, this has always been a supermarket that I have found that both people on Yelp and people I know who live in the Medway area have always had a passionate answer about. Either people like this supermarket, or hate it conclusively. While I like Stop&Shop better than Shaw's in general, both the Medfield and Medway Shaw's locations, I find on a different spectrum than a general gross Shaw's supermarket. This particular one may not be as phenomenal as the Medfield location; however, I am typically able to get everything I need here and it's a very large, spacious, and well maintained grocery store. Management has changed over the years, and recently it has stepped up it's game altogether with a full renovation. Everything seems fresh, clean, and organized. Shelves are fully stocked and they always have a huge selection of general merchandise that makes shopping at a grocery so easy any day. While I still prefer Stop&Shop, it's good to know that there is a good grocery store in the Medway community without having Stop&Shop with all their exclusive technological advancements. I can assure you that this store is nothing like the Franklin Shaw's and quite the opposite (the thoughts of the smells of vinegar throughout that store always make me feel sick!). Another great thing is that the prices are always very competitive and with coupons, you can save almost as much as at Stop&Shop here. I want to shop here... I really do... they do all they can to make that difficult for me. This place is horrible. First, it is poorly stocked all the time. Seriously, I have an idea... why not just cut out some of the product you claim to sell but never have and make the place more roomy. It is always a guess to see if something is going to be in stock the day I go. You also absolutely have to check expiration dates as I have come home with food many times that had expired. Finally as someone else mentioned they always have a slow and plodding line and, always, always, always when I get up there they send the bagger away to do something else (but likely not open up a new cashier) and I have to bag myself. I am shocked to see the photos taken from a year ago at this Shaw's location. I would have never gone there if it were like that now! My husband and I love this Shaw's because it is never packed and it's pretty organized inside. We always go in the mornings when things are stocked up. 4 stars because there is usually only one or two registers open which I do not understand mostly it being a weekend, but it usually goes by quickly. read more

I went to shop this Sunday morning at 7:15 AM - all patrons were doing a good job of distancing and being polite and patient. The store was not mobbed but "busy". So, why the heck were there only 2 check out lines open? There were 30-40 people waiting to leave, no baggers, and a kid outside pushing carriages around being totally useless. And, then, as usual there was the dark-haired screaming moron who thinks she must own the franchise - pathetic. The store's incompetence at check-out demeans the hard work and effort of all the other employees there who were doing a great job to stock and keep things going. The bakery people are great, as is deli, fish and meat. Get rid of the brunette moron at the registers. My cashier was superb - fast and courteous, even though she was all by herself. read more

This is a really big Shaw's location. It is well lit and generally attractive, though personally I don't love the concrete floor look. Prices seem to be good and they were friendly and effective at the checkout. read more
