Either these are rotten or there's a new breed of apple I never heard about
    Mahoraner N.

Where do I begin... let's start with the nasty produce. Oranges that are green, Granny Smith apples covered in red, avacados that are as squishy as play doh, and even peppers that I literally saw come out of the box a few minutes before, with MOLD on them. And when you're not getting food poisoning from the produce, you'll find your food being thrown around by the cashier/baggers. I have come here a few times, and most times the cashier/baggers are friendly. Not over the top, but basic respect. However, the attitude of the bagger on my last trip left me to write this review. He put two jugs of juice and three GLASS jars of sauce in the same bag, and didn't even double bag and Put cleaner in the same bag as food, and didn't even bother putting my case of water more than halfway on the bottom of the cart (I had to push it in) He was young so I cut him some slack on the bagging. But when I asked him nicely to make the bags lighter he just rolled his eyes. And at then end when I was saying "have a great day", he scoffs our a "yeah whatever". Moral of the story is, if you want produce that won't give you food poisoning, try Brothers marketplace, it's more expensive but it's a whole lot better than MOLD and ROT. And secondly, if you still choose to go to this Shaw's, expect average to bad service.

If you live in the Medfield - Millis -Dover area, this is the best choice for supermarket. The Roche Bros down the street in Millis is very nice, but Shaw's is much, much bigger, so naturally the selection better. The meats section is gigantic. Just the chicken section alone is twice the size of Roche Bros meat and fish sections combined! They also have a pharmacist and two aisles of international and specialty foods, both things that you won't see at Roche Bros. And I checked the dates, nothing was even close to it's expiration date this past Sunday. The prices at Shaw's are much more reasonable. You'll pay 10% more for groceries at Roche Bros., 20 to 30% more for meat and fish. Shaw's also has a ton of specials. I bought chicken breast halves on special for $1.99 lb on Sunday, then checked Roch Bros and found the only chicken breast available at the meat counter was $4.69 lb. The same can of Tuna fish a paid 79 cents for at Shaw's was selling for $1.49 at Roche Bros. The staff at the Deli counter are very friendly. They are always well staffed at the registers, and there are three self checkout registers too, I've never had to wait in line more than a minute.

This market is depressing. Dark, dreary, and uninspired. I avoid it whenever possible.

Roche Bros. - Millis - This is potato salad from the deli at $5.99 a pound. It was 40% water and undercooked. Roche Brothers charges more for water than Perrier!

I approached the counter to ask where to find the pork, stood there for several minutes while the butcher mopped and ignored me, despite looking up. Finally went to check the cooler and found an in-store shopper to ask, she brought me to where it should be but there was none, I followed her back to the counter where the butcher was quick to come to her service, and she placed an order with him rather than trying to continue to help me. The butcher went from mopping to grabbing fresh ground beef out of the case with the same gloves he was mopping, and packing it up. In the process of weighing the meet he was also flinging into the floor of the shoppers side of the butcher counter. not impressed, and definitely would not buy fresh packed meats from this store.

Recently, I purchased tilapia from the seafood counter, and was delighted by the freshness and flavor of the fish, even though I didn't cook until 24 hours later. This was a very pleasant surprise. I actually stopped purchasing fresh fish several years ago, and began purchasing flash-frozen fish only, because I have found "fresh fish" to be generally of poor quality (usually not fresh at all!) In fact, I also gave up eating tilapia 3 or 4 years ago because I found that both the taste and texture were usually poor. I am delighted to know that I can get truly fresh fish from Roche Brothers, and will definitely return to buy more. As usual, the service was also top-notch. Thank you Roche Brothers!

This place happened to be exactly in the middle between where my friend and I live, so we decided to meet here for lunch. The street corn flatbread was tasty and cheesy, and my friend's fried chicken sandwich was also good. Service was friendly if a bit slow. After lunch, we went apple picking which was I think $34 for a peck which is pretty standard nowadays. They had macoun, macintosh, cortland, and some other varieties, but I prefer my macs. The apple orchard is very small compared to other places I've been, but served its purpose. Would have been nice to have a couple ladders in the orchard for easier access to apples on top. Would have also been nice if the bathrooms were not portapotties--my friend and I chose to hold it lol. They also have a pen with chickens, ducks, and goats that look fairly happy and well cared for. We came on a weekday so it was not crowded at all, but I would imagine it gets packed on weekends.

They are right down by the floor. Unless you pull up each item that you might be interested in you can't see what there is. Going down that low as a senior citizen I am afraid of falling. I don't know of any other market in the area that has the items in shelves that low. Sometimes the items on sale are not available. My recent experience was an item in the seafood department that was not in the case, and there was only one employee for meat and seafood. He was in the back and there was no way to contact him. He came out and he took a bit to get his attention. However, I will continue to shop at this at this market as well as big Y and Walmart

Even when you are about to hang up, he could've said have a nice day, but nothing except a "bye". Not even a Good-bye!!! I feel bad having to post this but after ringing up and bagging my own groceries, I think a little courtesy isn't too much to ask for.

Peggy had a bad day"…read more I'm honestly disappointed. Usually my experiences at Aldi is always a pleasant one. Almost to the point where I've said "thank you for being so nice" to a cashier that normally works there, it's just unfortunate that today was not the case. I had maybe 6 items which I already had a bag for so I didn't bother to grab a cart that I'd normally do when I'd come to shop. I put my items down and the cashier at the register said " Peggy is is about to open you can head over there. I get it, she was probably about to leave for the day or whatever but I did what I was told and placed my items on the next runway It was OBVIOUS that Peggy was already having a bad day so as she came to the register I smiled and said "thank you" Peggy then started tapping her hand and and firmly said "next time if you needed money for a cart we have it right here!!" I apologized and said " well I only have a few things and thought that it would not be a problem " Guess I was wrong because she then said with the same tone "well when you don't have a carriage it slows me down!!" I looked over at the next customer and she had a FULL cart of items so the next transaction was going to take a little more time than my 6 items which she jammed into the bag I had. But she wasn't done, after telling me my total she blurted out " you see how expensive things get?!?! " I just said thanks and told her to have a better day and left I'm coming off of a 10 hour shift and still needed to head home and cook for my family. I didn't need her attitude whatsoever. I can guarantee that if the tables were turned and it was me I probably wouldn't have a job any longer. I wanted to call and ask to speak with a manager but I felt that this would work just as well. Hope you had a better day Peggy, take care. Praying that my next experience at Aldis is better than this

The prices at Aldi's cannot be beat and I would say, is the perfect place to go for groceries if you don't need much of it, similar to the portion sizes sold at Trader Joe's. One thing I noticed was, their cheese selection is IMMACULATE! Literally perfect for charcuterie boards and doesn't break the bank. Also, LOVE their grass fed ground beef... it's amazing; highly recommend!
