This store is a disgrace. The employees are bottom of the barrel and no one cares about customer service except for the pharmacy staff. Have you seen the hygiene of some of the checkout people? It may be convenient but I will never shop there again. read more

I get the impression that the people working at this store are forced to. Most are unhappy, not a great look for a customer service based business. Maybe start with cleaning up management to give this Shaw's a new outlook. Sometimes I leave there not sure if I should be mad at the staff, or sad because maybe they are not being treated they way they should be. read more

Absolutely the rudest staff at any retailer I've ever been to. Every time we go there, it's a negative experience. Today we had to pick up some groceries and we had our autistic son with us. He's also ADHD and a handful. We finished and approached the registers. All were closed. Only self check out was open. I asked the manager if a register could be opened. She barked back, "SELF CHECKOUT ONLY!". I was taken aback. I almost left the groceries but I didn't want to shop all over again at Roche Brothers . We started self check out and a staff member came over and chided us for putting our bag in the wrong place to pack it. Unbelievable. Now I'm trying to contact corporate and there is no customer service number for complaints. read more

Tried to buy something on sale. Was told I needed my wife's phone. What BS! I will go to Aldi's and get real customer service!

Where do I begin... let's start with the nasty produce. Oranges that are green, Granny Smith apples covered in red, avacados that are as squishy as play doh, and even peppers that I literally saw come out of the box a few minutes before, with MOLD on them. And when you're not getting food poisoning from the produce, you'll find your food being thrown around by the cashier/baggers. I have come here a few times, and most times the cashier/baggers are friendly. Not over the top, but basic respect. However, the attitude of the bagger on my last trip left me to write this review. He put two jugs of juice and three GLASS jars of sauce in the same bag, and didn't even double bag and Put cleaner in the same bag as food, and didn't even bother putting my case of water more than halfway on the bottom of the cart (I had to push it in) He was young so I cut him some slack on the bagging. But when I asked him nicely to make the bags lighter he just rolled his eyes. And at then end when I was saying "have a great day", he scoffs our a "yeah whatever". Moral of the story is, if you want produce that won't give you food poisoning, try Brothers marketplace, it's more expensive but it's a whole lot better than MOLD and ROT. And secondly, if you still choose to go to this Shaw's, expect average to bad service. read more

If you live in the Medfield - Millis -Dover area, this is the best choice for supermarket. The Roche Bros down the street in Millis is very nice, but Shaw's is much, much bigger, so naturally the selection better. The meats section is gigantic. Just the chicken section alone is twice the size of Roche Bros meat and fish sections combined! They also have a pharmacist and two aisles of international and specialty foods, both things that you won't see at Roche Bros. And I checked the dates, nothing was even close to it's expiration date this past Sunday. The prices at Shaw's are much more reasonable. You'll pay 10% more for groceries at Roche Bros., 20 to 30% more for meat and fish. Shaw's also has a ton of specials. I bought chicken breast halves on special for $1.99 lb on Sunday, then checked Roch Bros and found the only chicken breast available at the meat counter was $4.69 lb. The same can of Tuna fish a paid 79 cents for at Shaw's was selling for $1.49 at Roche Bros. The staff at the Deli counter are very friendly. They are always well staffed at the registers, and there are three self checkout registers too, I've never had to wait in line more than a minute. read more

I have been shopping at Shaw's in Medfield since 1990. I discuss my issues regarding the Passover display of foods each year. This year was the worst year ever. The foods were displayed at the end of February for an April 15th start of the holiday. Only one type of Matzah was originally displayed - gluten free - which clearly stated on the bottom of the package that it was not to be used at Seder time. It also had a multiplicity of ingredients that were not healthy. Another Matzah offering had oval Matzah, again, not appropriate for a Seder. I would think that after all this time, Shaw's Medfield would know what foods are appropriate. I had to buy my matzah at Roche Brothers. read more

So many of the employees are unpleasant when you're checking out. It's like you're inconveniencing then by being there. Again some are nice. However the overall tone is that you're somehow trespassing. If you're unhappy do something else. Don't be rude to other people. read more

Growing up in the area, this Shaw's has been here for as long as I can remember. Recently renovated as of a couple of years ago, nearby stores were knocked down, expanding the store to include an updated look, as well as an in-store pharmacy. They feature a small floral section and the, now-popular, self checkout lanes. The store is relatively well stocked and clean, having some more interesting items, especially in the produce department. Bakery department isn't too bad, considering the size and type of store. Some of the staff seem to have an attitude problem, but most are pleasant enough. Cell phone reception inside the store is spotty at best, for almost every carrier. Pharmacist is quite nice and seems knowledgable, but with limited hours. If you live in the area, probably one of the nicer traditional style supermarkets to shop at, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to go here. read more

I hate Shaw's. (Did that make you do a double take on my rating?) Yes, I purposefully rated this store 5 stars, but the above statement is true. And this is also: this isn't Shaw's. Literally, there is NO way in heck this is ANYTHING like ANY of the other Shaw's locations I've been too, most being dirty, old, and small. Yet, the Medfield location adds a new spin to the company, and sure puts out what I feel the company would like all of their stores to be like. The store is just amazing. Now, before I rave about the amazing features the Medfield location provides in comparison to other Shaw's stores (the one in Norwood, for example, is awful), I want to point out one decision that I don't like the management did. What happened to my wonderful Self-Checkout machines that used to be here? I'm obsessed with self-checkout and this Shaw's (as well as MOST of the others) got rid of Self-Checkout (one reason, I still prefer the nearby, amazing, Walpole Super Stop&Shop). Still not the biggest problem in the world, yet just something convenient gone! Anywho, (as I was planning to say first) the Medfield Shaw's is SO organized, clean, and well laid out. Also, including a large selection of products to choose from - no, it's not Whole Foods, but it's better than anywhere else in town, especially price-wise. Plus, staff are friendly and they open a fair amount of registers (UNLIKE the Norwood Shaw's). I feel GOOD about purchasing things I'm eating here, unlike the Norwood location (hopefully, they go on a steady UP rate, 'cause right now I have SO many more reasons to visit the good 'ol Medfield location). Definitely your best bet for groceries in Medfield (unless you don't mind going to pay higher at Brothers Marketplace, which I also like, but feel is overpriced). I was at Shaws in Medfield to do my weekly (mask and gloves) shopping. Did my over $150.00 shopping. Out to the parking lot. The car makes that terrible "I'm not starting " noise. Go back in the store to borrow a phone. Wonderful young man at the cash register let's me call home (he dialed). Call my husband, leave a message (bet he's in the yard doing stuff!). Lift up the hood in the parking lot, sit to wait, have a Snickerdoodle I bought. A nice young man (Andy), looks like the end of his shift, asks if I'm ok, told him the story. He says he has a charger...might work. It did! I got home, no loss of groceries. Thank you Andy, a good deed for a senior (75!) Thank you Shaws, All your employees have always been wonderful, but this was above andbeyond!. read more

Check the dates on any of the more unusual stuff in the Wild Harvest and World sections. They don't turn it over and much of it is WAY out of date. The produce section has a poor selection. The meat counter is worthless. The fish counter is okay. The service and checkout are horrendous. Every time I try to save the two extra minutes it would take me to get to Roche Bros in Millis and go to Shaw's instead I regret it. I've talked to the manager about how bad the service is and I feel sorry for the guy. He said corporate decided everything, how many people are on shift, how many registers are open. The manager may know he could do a better business if he paid another highschool kid $8/hour to provide better service but he can do nothing about. Drive to Roche Bros in Millis, it's worth it. Especially since they expanded. read more

This is by far the worst grocery store ever. The fish counter smells like a bait shop. I've received a dead lobster, and bad tilapia. I should have learned my lesson the first time. They never have the produce you're looking for! You'd think a town like Medfield would merit a better grocery store! Stay far away if you value your health. I would never think to write a review for a grocery chain but this store definitely warrants it... The staff is always friendly and helpful. The store is very organized and clean... The only reason I didn't give it five stars is I don't like The cyclical practices with the sales and having to buy five of something to get the sale price. Mediocre selection of items and bad service. Today's ordeal included a frozen cash register, which happens frequently, a cashier whose body odor was horrific enough to cause wretching, and a bagger who placed heavy bottles precariously on the bottom of the cart, where they spilled out once the cart moved. Always check your receipt because they frequently double charge. Last month when their register "froze" they double charged me for $225 of groceries by totaling my groceries twice. Had to call the bank to reverse, which was a hassle. The produce is old. After many years of trying with Shaw's, I'm done. read more
