I called him and asked him if he would be able to add my charms while I waited and he did just that. The business is located inside the Joe V's on FM 1960 near Aldine Westfield. When I showed him the charms, he asked me where I wanted them to go on my bracelet and just like that he was finished in less than 10 minutes. He even cleaned my wedding ring and another ring that I was wearing free of charge. I am very pleased with the service and will be visiting Bench Jeweler for all of my jewelry repair needs.

Then a couple of months later, he says his roommate's friend stole the watch! But he will replace it with a cheaper inferior model. I told him that was unacceptable so he suggested I find my own replacement. I do, but it is not as pristine as my watch, costs me almost $400, and it also needs batteries. I take it to him (assuming he would still have the original replacement batteries-wrong! He doesn't have those batteries either! Now he wants more money to get more batteries and that "when he gets a check, he will repay me for the replacement watch". Long story, short: it's been over 1 and 1/2 years, I'm out over $500, I don't have my original watch, no batteries, no repayment, and he won't return my calls or texts! Any way you cut it, I've been scammed by this guy!! Do yourself a favor and stay away from Black Forest Watch and Clock, Jewelry, or whatever else he's calling his business now!!

Between my grandfather and I, we had six watches needing repair. Did my research and wanted to support small business. Found this shop. Called to ensure he would be open if the current pandemic situation. Answers the phone with simply "hello". Is this the Watchmaker Specialist?", I ask. "Yes." I then asked if he would be open the next day to drop by with the watches for repair. "No problem. I will be here" he responds. "Excellent. See you tomorrow." Today (the next day), I picked up my 89-year old grandfather to drive 25 miles to his shop. Arrive to the office building, then had to had to show my driver's license to a security guard. It has to be shown to a video camera where they take a picture of your license. Was not crazy about that given identity fraud. But had to do it to gain access to the building. Made our way up to the 7th floor, found the suite, only to find the office locked. Sign on door says call the number. So I do this and again, simply "hello". I let him know we were standing at the front door. "Who's this?", he asks. "A customer" i replied. "Oh, I am not there. I went to get some dinner. Can you wait 30 or 45 minutes?"........ So he wanted my grandfather and I to simply hang out and wait for him. Not very good customer service especially after I called beforehand to verify it was good to come down at that time. Which it was. But he left us in the lurch. We went someplace else. Was not a goid customer service experience.

I needed a college ring resized. Many places apparently wont do it because of risks involved or not…read morehaving the right equipment. Since it's large there's a chance of damaging the shoulders, texts, etc. My big concern is my fingers swell/shrink and I lost my last class ring from it falling off. The gentleman at Apollo advised making it larger and give it a week and see. The ring would fit right some days and almost fell off others as I suspected. When I went back to explore other routes he had a genius idea. He said he could place 2 gold beads inside the ring. It would grab the knuckle and stay secure but if my fingers swelled it would not hug the side of the ring. Been wearing it for a week and it's the absolute perfect fit. I don't feel the beads at all and wont have to worry about it falling off. Customer service was great and turn around time was very fast. A+ will be going back for my jewelry needs.
