First off, I did not "have", as Paul stated, anyone review Robsons negatively. I posted my review and my experience only. Definition of review: 4. To write or give a critical report on. I am legally allowed to do so. Freedom of speech. A review system is free to the public. Whatever other people did was based on their feelings and experiences. Robsons, please have your attorney contact me so I can forward them my attorney information who I have informed of this situation and Paul's threats to me. I have all the screen shots and information that I need. Definition of Threat: noun: threat; plural noun: threats 1. a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done or not done. I was verbally put down by Robsons' clients for posting my bad experience with Paul the store manager. The ugly comments that were posted by clients and Paul's friends on my review and others who had bad experiences with Paul and the store, shows what kind of character he has and what kind of store it is. Poor Mandy seems to always have to buffer the disasters Paul causes. She is too sweet for that. Here is my experience Jan. 30, 2017. It seems I'm not alone in my feelings after posting my public review. My family has done business with Robsons for years. No issues until now. I went into Robsons to have my husband's watch repaired. I told the lady I was thinking about buying my husband a special watch for V-Day. She brought me to Paul, the store manager, to ask if he had a book for watches. He looked at me and said if I needed a book on watches to go to Barnes and Noble. The lady corrected herself and said I'm sorry a catalog to look through for a watch. He told her that's not what she said. She apologized again to him. He told me that they didn't have a catalog on books but they had some watches on display. I told him I looked and I didn't see one I was looking for, I was looking for a mechanical style watch. He corrected me at some point and said they are called automatic watches. He began to tell me how you can't just go out a buy a watch. It takes time and thought. He compared it to purses. Going into a Louis Vuitton store as opposed to a Macy's. It's not the best decision. I said "like the watch I have in my hand? The one I bought at a Macy's for my husband a few years ago?!" He gave a face and said he wouldn't have bought it. I felt so degraded! He went on about his opinion of good brands. He pulled up Bulova on the touch screen and added a remark telling me I could do this on my own; Like I was wasting his time! I picked out one that I thought would be nice and asked if I had it sent there could I have it engraved. He looked at me and laughed! Asked me where would you put an engraving?! I was so embarrassed. I called my husband crying. I was so upset! I called Robsons and left a voicemail that I wanted to speak to a manager about my experience with Paul. I spoke to Mandy 2 days later after they called about what it would cost to repair my husbands "Macy's" watch. I was upset because they hadn't called me back and expressed this to her. She was concerned. Told me she was going to bring it up to Paul. He would call and apologize later. Paul called me that night. Instead of starting off by apologizing he started off telling me how he watched all the footage and spoke to other employees to see where he went wrong and doesn't see how I would be offended! I asked him, "are you calling me a liar? That I am mistaken on my feelings and how you made me feel?!" He laughed and said well I can tell you are going to be negative. I told him well since he knew how I should feel after all of the above situations why wouldn't I be negative? He laughed and told me I am sorry that you were offended! I told him how could he apologize when he was laughing! He said well I just don't understand how you could be upset and laughed more! He used the word hunny way too much and it felt degrading; not sincere. I told him to not call me that and he'd laugh more! He told me that I am no longer allowed in "HIS" store! From the moment I walked into the store I was greeted and offered a beverage, they made me feel welcome and a part of the family! Christine assisted me in finding the perfect ring, she was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me in a way I could easily understand exactly what I was getting and all of my options. On top of all that, they were able to set the stone for me in about an hour and I left that day with my beautiful ring! He is harassing her, because she told the truth about him stealing her items and having to go to the police to get them back. The fake bad reviews have been screen shotted as well and sent to her attorneys. ***update 5/17/18 1:44 pm*** Cheryl Stell is currently working with an attorney to sue Robson's Of Baytown, Texas. The false comment left below by Robson's jewellers qualifies for defamation of character based on false information posted to the public against Ms. Stell by Robson's jewellers. The false comment was left 5 hours ago and has been screen shotted as proof. Paul Hargrave of Robson's jewellers did have several of Ms. Stell's items, including a Movado timepiece - and he did refuse to give her the items back. Ms. Stell did make a report with the Harris County poilice department and Baytown police did work with her to make Paul Hargrave give her her items back. ------------- Paul Hargrave of Robson's jewelers stole my watch and other belongings. Robson's Jewelers customer service is A+ and stands out, as a family owned store; with on-site appraisals by certified gemologist Paul for gems/jewelry is very impressive. During the recent Antwerp Diamond sale "Belgian Waffle & Beer " nite I was met and assisted by Martha who was very knowledgeable, spent hours to make sure I understood, and was happy with my decision. Just went in for repair of a sterling silver earring. It needed a new post put on. I called them 1 hr prior to arrival. They said it would cost around $12 dollars to fix. Upon my arrival im told it would actually cost $60 dollars. Not even close to what they told me on the phone. So I took it somewhere else and told them what i needed. They said it was only $20.... 3 times less. They even laughed at what Robbins jewelry tried to charge me. I will never go back to Robbins and im glad I Did not fall for their scam. read more

Overall good service, took a bit too long on my watch repair but made it up by taking care of a warranty claim. I always desired to do business with this jewelry store because it's local and family owned, but I didn't have the greatest experience. First, let me state that they do good work, for I had them repair my wife's engagement ring & wedding band, again let me tell you that it was done well. There down fall is Time & Customer Service... Time: I asked them if they could do the job in 3 days, after taking my wife's rings to the jewelers who were repairing and working on pieces I was told that it would take 9 days because they were really busy. Long story short I came back to pick up and pay for my wife's rings in 11 days after returning from out of town, and they still weren't done! They said they could have it done by that evening I said ok, I'd pick it up first thing in the morning, they still were not completed. I received a text after 1:00 saying they were ready... I was disappointed, but this was just the beginning. Customer Service: After arriving to pay & pickup my wife's rings I was asked to look at their work... again it was done well... so I stated I had to appointments that I made with my wife to present these to her based upon there time table, that went undone because they weren't ready... looking for empathy or at least an apology. The saleswoman said "well next time you should get your ducks in a row in November." The Robson's staff took my disappointment to added frustration. Who knew that you couldn't take business THAT YOU PAY FOR by there quoted word today. At least you can't with Robson's. I would've given them another shot if it was just the time issue (I know things happen sometimes) but after being told "I can count on them getting things done in a timely manner & according to there word if I come in November" (customer service) I won't be returning. - J Hill read more

Jewelry repair was very expensive, I took my fathers ring in to see about repairing a crack in the shank, the woman assisting me proceeded to check how many karats the ring was and tried cleaning it up. She managed to break the crack all the way through making it completely unwearable and tried telling me that dirt was the only thing that was holding it together. Couldn't believe she had the audacity to tell me so, I was infuriated. I didn't want to make a scene and it wasn't worth me arguing so I just left. My boyfriend and I went to Robson's this weekend to ask about getting a new setting for a ring of his grandmother's that we plan on using as an engagement ring. I was really looking forward to it, and I have had positive experiences with Robson's in the past, so they were my first choice to do the job. The woman who helped us out told us that they didn't really have anything suitable in the store, so she recommended we look through a catalog from one of their vendors. That was when the whole thing fell apart. I felt pressured into looking only at solitaire settings (which was not what I wanted at all) and was told that was the only style that would work with the stones we have. She told me that she would call me back on Monday with an estimate for the ring. On Tuesday I received a call from the saleswoman, who told me that it would cost roughly 75% of the cost of the (not at all cheap) ring we already have to have the stones remounted in a new ring. I've done extensive research, and I am sure that the price we were quoted was ridiculously expensive, especially considering we would be supplying the stones. I could easily buy a very nice, brand new ring for the price we were quoted. In addition to all that, the saleswoman misplaced the ring box. We eventually located it, but it didn't give me a lot of confidence in how my ring would be handled if I left it with them. I have already reached out to other jewelers about remounting the ring, and not one of them has suggested it would be a problem to remount it the way I would like. I brought my wife's Tag Heuer watch in for repair after she dropped it on the kitchen floor. They sent the watch out to Tag for repair and Tag came back with an estimate for repair that was higher than what I wanted to spend. Paul told me not to worry and that they would be happy to see if they could fix the watch for me in-house. They were able to fix it and for a lot less than what Tag wanted to charge me. I have never written a YELP review before, however, my experience at Robson's Jewelers in Baytown,TX spurred me to write the following review: I walked in at 4:15pm on a Saturday and Paul expertly helped me and my girlfriend find exactly what we wanted in under 25 minutes. I was only in town for another day and really wanted Robson's to take care of my current requests since they did such a good job on my previous men's diamond wedding band, women's diamond engagement ring and wedding band several years ago. There was no sales pressure, just his professional advice. I sold back my old diamond men's wedding band and was able to put that money towards this new diamond engagement ring. I only received about 1/3 of the price that I originally bought it for several years ago, however, the resale value for smaller diamonds is not that great and Paul was so helpful and efficient with everything else that this was not a deal breaker for me, personally. We went in to the store last Saturday and due to the sentimental value of the diamond (family heirloom) and my hectic work schedule (and that I live across the county), Paul personally shipped the ring to me today so that I would have it tomorrow on one of the very few days that I would be home to sign for the delivery. We have not seen the ring (the finished product), yet, but I have no doubt it will either meet or exceed our expectations based on the excellent customer service that was provided. Thank you Robson's for helping me get exactly what I wanted, at a fair price and shipped to me across the country in exactly 6.5 days. The professionalism and personal touches were outstanding. I will definitely be back for my wedding band when that time comes and for anniversaries in the future. ***UPDATE (5/13/17): I received the ring in the mail today as promised, just under seven days from walking into the store and picking it out with my girlfriend this past Saturday. The ring is nice (as expected) and the box it came in was a nice touch. I will not shop here again. I gave them 2 stars because I believe the value of the item I purchased was fair. I won't shop here again because during my purchase I was quoted a price and the person assisting me gave me a receipt with a dramatically lower price ($700). I brought this to her attention and she corrected it. Then, my fiancé returned to the store to have it sized. In the store I was told one price, then when they called me for payment I was quoted a substantially higher price. I gave them my payment information over the phone and then the sales girl called me back a couple minutes later saying it was going to be dramatically more. So in two transactions they could not give me an accurate price. I contrast this with my experience at Bailey Banks and Biddle where you are greeted and treated as a valued customer. I do think the value of the product was fair but I will shop at a store that can at least give me an accurate price for my purchase. read more

I was looking for a gift for my fiancée and was helped out by a lady that obviously had no knowledge of the rings I was looking at and after I found something I liked I asked about the return policy which come to find out did not exist. Purchased men's diver's watch for 750.00 in September 2016, not including tax and was told it had 5 year warranty - watch was purchased on credit. Watch was brought back to Robson's in on March 9, 2017 for employee to fix date and time/daylight savings time which they did. No paperwork or instructions were given to me when it was purchased; I wore the watch out of the store. I brought the watch back on 11/06/2017 to have date and time set again for daylight savings time and there was water under crystal. Repair man was out on vacation but looked at the watch and called me on 11/21/2017 to inform me that I pulled the back of the watch off and caused water to get inside and warranty was voided. It would cost another 250.00 to fix the watch. I told the man I never messed with the watch since I had no instructions and the company reset the date/time each time. The repairman was insistant that I caused the damage and would not help me. Several calls to management failed. I now have to continue to pay for a watch I no longer have, the company kept the watch, along with finance charges for an item I no longer have. By the way, address is wrong. I took a string of multi-colored pearls to be restrung. (I was warned against doing so by a family member who had a bad experience with Robsons restringing her pearls.) However, I had used Robsons for years, so I used them anyway. My pearls were not ready when promised. When I got them back, they had not been restrung in the same color sequence as they were originally. I called twice over a period of a week. Both times, I spoke with a Robsons employee who told me the person who could discuss my problem was not in at the moment, but would return my call. Nobody ever called me back. read more

If you need a watch battery replaced, I would highly recommend Robson's Jewelers in Baytown. AND if you ever need jewelry repaired, STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM Robson's Jewelers as possible. My 22 inch gold chain broke, they soldered it, then it broke again in the same place and in another place. When I went to pick it up, it had sharp pieces poking out at the soldered areas. They re-soldered these two breaks, extremely poorly in my opinion, and I paid for the repairs. When I put the chain on, it just didn't feel right. When I got home, I took off the chain and measured it. IT WAS ONLY 20 INCHES!!! When I called them to ask why my chain is now 2 inches shorter, the female employee told me the repair person sometimes has to cut part of the chain to make a "clean" solder. I understand that, but 2 inches? So she told me to bring my chain in. That I did, and she measured it, covering the edges with her fingers, saying it was a little over 21 inches. Once she allowed me to measure it, it was closer to 20 inches. So, this employee told me that I could buy a new chain, have their repair guy cut it apart and solder a piece into my original chain! I'm pretty sure the look on my face told her where she can shove that idea! THEN, she had the audacity to tell me that she'll give me store credit for the value of my chain. I smiled when I looked at her and said, "No thank you. I'll buy a new chain elsewhere." Lesson learned. read more
