I selected "any barber" because I wanted the fastest available slot. I arrived at 2:25 because I didn't want to be late and needed to be out of there as soon as possible. Right at 2:30 one of the barbers asked if I had an appointment. I said yes. He pointed to a female barber in the corner and said I'd be with her. I had just watched someone sit down in her chair, so I mentioned it. He then went over and asked her how long she'd be, which confirmed I was looking at at least another 30-minute wait. The way it was handled made it seem like this wasn't unusual. After I canceled my appointment, I got a quick, half-hearted "sorry about that." Honestly, if there had been more sincerity in the apology or any sense that the mistake was being owned, I probably wouldn't have written this. But with 15 minutes left before my new appointment at my usual shop, I figured I'd take a minute to share the experience. What's the point of making an appointment if you're going to wait as long as a walk-in? Not sure if this will help anyone, but it was frustrating enough that I felt it was worth sharing. I know quite a few people who go here, and I've always wanted to like the place, but it just doesn't quite hit the mark for me.

Everything was going well, and I was liking the cut until she started feeling dizzy. Apparently, she hadn't eaten lunch yet, and it was already 3 p.m. low blood sugar, and with them being super busy because of the holidays, it was a hectic couple of days and it caught up to her. I strongly believe that everyone should take their mandatory lunch break per state law, and I'm not a fan of it when it's not enforced. As a lead in my job, I make sure everyone I work with takes their lunch break on time because I get cranky if I don't eat, so I totally get it. Anyway, she was really kind, but as soon as she started feeling unwell, they told her to go relax. Another barber stepped in, but he had his own style, so it ended up being a completely different cut that just looked a bit confusing. It's not bad, but I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10. The staff here were super cool, but will I return? Probably not unless my two barbers at Fresh Kutz aren't available and I need an emergency cut. It's just not the same.
