I have been seeing the same hair stylist for about 7 years, well about 7 months ago I started dating a man who had Jeremy cut his hair. I had weaved hair before with black peekaboos and I told Jeremy about my desire for platinum hair and he told me he could pull it off. I was apprehensive because 8 or so years ago someone tried this and destroyed my hair. He first did a deep condition on my already bleached hair and it was AMAZING how great it felt. Later he did some light highlighting for me to show me what he could do and I was amazed yet again. Finally we went in for the kill and it took 5 hours, and that's only because my hair was already blonde and we kept the black black, (my signature), but my hair is AMAZING!!!!! On average I get a compliment at least once a day if not more. It's that platinum blonde everyone loves and with the dark chunks the contrast is gorgeous. Not to mention with the awapuhi deep conditioner he uses, my hair feel like bleach has never touched it. I have never been so impressed with someone. Jeremy clearly loves what he does and he is DARN GOOD at it. He actually talked to me and understood what I wanted. I am not an easy lady to please. You could ask him, he'd tell you I'm pretty demanding, but I was really nervous about this process, but he was knowledgeable and confident and I am so grateful! I will no longer see anybody else so Jeremy, you'd better not go anywhere! I would recommend Jeremy to ANYONE. He does amazing work from a simple deep condition or hair cut to taking someone to the extreme like myself. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! read more

$$$***WARNING***$$$ !!!!!!DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! The only thing Jeremy has to offer is great products. The deep conditioning does feel great, but it's NOT worth what he charges and you can find Paul Mitchel products in A LOT of Salons. Every time I went to him my haircut was different. Maybe some people like that kind of thing, but it seems like he cuts and styles it to more what he thinks would look "cool" than what I want. He RUINED my hair!!! I went back to my old stylist and she was PISSED to see how unhealthy my hair was because of him. He isn't honest about what to expect, and he's super chatty. Sometimes it's nice, but he talks trash about sooooo many people. It's like you're his favorite client when your there and as soon as you leave he has nothing nice to say about you. He's homophobic and racist. He pretends not to be as the salon next door is owned my a gay man (who is so sweet btw, but he makes these jokes that are offensive, but and you can tell he's not joking. He just doesn't know how to stop talking and it's inappropriate. I am NOT happy with any of my experiences with this salon and glad to be back somewhere that cares about how I want to look AND the health of my hair not to mention that wont bankrupt my pocket book! read more

I have very long hair and am quite particular about the cut and color. When I called other places looking for a stylist, several people told me they wouldn't do allover color on long hair. One person actually said, "Oh no, that's too much work." Before I first saw Jeremy, we spoke on the phone about my hair and what I like, and he was happy to take me on as a client. When Jeremy works on my hair, he doesn't stop to answer his phone or gossip with coworkers. He listens to me, describes what he will do and how each process works, and doesn't try to sell me unnecessary treatments or products. He is honest about what the products contain and how my hair may react. He is polite, funny, talkative, and carrying a conversation doesn't make him lose his focus. In my adventures with other salons, I would feel lightheaded and smell like an ammonia factory when they applied color. The color products Jeremy uses are gentle, don't reek of chemicals, and make my hair very shiny and soft. The Paul Mitchell Awapuhi shampoo he sells is sulfate-free and keeps my color from quickly fading. Jeremy has been doing my hair for almost two years. Every time I leave his salon, my hair is exactly what I asked for and I feel beautiful. I highly recommend him. read more

Wow! Is all I have to say. What an awesome time in Jermey's studio from the minute I arrived to the minute I left, not to mention that my hair looks AMAZING!!! I couldn't be more happy with the transformation he made to my hair. I gave Jeremy an idea of what I wanted, he took it and went above and beyond what I expected and nailed it. I have to add that I appreciate SO much that he's such a perfectionist when it comes the service he provides that he added more color and highlights after the initial round just to make it pop and look great to his high standards. First he made sure i had time and wanted to stay for more. He didn't care that it was getting late and was at no point in a hurry just to get the job "done". I never felt like I was just another client in and out. I also had my 14 month old with me and half the time was in my lap... Jermey was professional and totally rolled with the punches. Trying out a new salon is scary for as my hair has always been a source of crisis for me. I need a partner in crime to be as dedicated to my hair success as I am - and someone that can have a vision for me. I walked in to Sheer Couture today and was immediately blown away by Jeremy's positive attitude. He had great energy, a good smile and was willing to help. He asked what I wanted and when I helplessly looked at him with confused eyes, he took charge. Jeremy is a master mind when it comes to long hair. I run daily and beat up my ends, but he has nonetheless successfully helped me grow out my hair since I started seeing him 2 years ago! If you are trying to grow out your hair, don't think twice, go see Jeremy!! I must also say that I have also received 2 ombres from him. When I asked him a year ago about getting highlights before my wedding, he suggested the ombre as I have very dark hair and I'm not too keen on upkeep. I just redid it to make it a little more dramatic last month, and I continue to get so many complements on it. He is very careful to make it look smooth and blended, which is difficult to do with ombres. I would recommend getting the deep conditioning treatment every other time as well. When it comes to precision, Jeremy is your man. I'm very low maintenance when it comes to hair. I hate using blow dryers, curling irons and a kazillion hair products to make my hair do what I want it to so I often rely on a good cut to make sure my hair keeps it shape and flows like I want it to. Jeremy knows hair -- how it grows and functions -- and he definitely knows what looks good based on your lifestyle and natural features. I have given him creative license and he always seems to please. He's got a different approach in comparison to many stylist which I was a little leary about at first, but I was pleasantly surprised and my hair never felt so good. I had an OUTSTANDING experience at Sheer Couture! Jeremy didn't even have to ask what I wanted, he just seemed to look at my face and style and went to work. Even after he cut my hair I noticed it was a little longer then I liked and he didn't even miss a beat and went right back at it and fully delivered. There's not many places, let alone people that will go further to ensure the customer's satisfaction, but he did! I previously have been getting my hair cut and styled from a Senior Stylist at a reputable salon for over 10 years, but I never felt like the experience was for me and Jeremy gave me that. Having VERY curly hair, I am very selective about who I let cut my hair. There are many stylists that do not know how to cut curls. When I find someone that knows how to work with my hair, I stick with them. I have been coming to Jeremy for 2 years now and have always left VERY happy with the work that he does. In the last year, I have been growing my hair out again. As the curls grow, it is necessary to reshape them. I trust him to change the shape of my hair as it grows. I do not give him too many directions, and the cut that I get is always much better than anything I had envisioned. I RECOMMEND HIS WORK HIGHLY. Jeremy is a super stylist that listens to what you want and makes sure you leave with gorgeous hair. I have lived in Portland for three years and have tried all the very trendy and overpriced salons where I have been repeatedly disappointed and left with awful haircuts and worse color (does anyone in Portland know how to cut fine, curly hair? I don't even have anything complicated, just long layers.) Today Jeremy cleaned up a right mess that one of these overpriced places left me with. I will not make that mistake again. I bought a groupon but did not know what to expect. It's a one room shop with one guy. Hard to get a hold of cuz it's "one" guy, but if you leave a message he gets back to you and has the best, friendliest personality!!! He is VERY accomodating!! I just went and saw jeremy and i told him that I wanted to donate my hair to locks of love. He warned me about cutting off all that hair at once and he took two hours to consult my hair style. Jeremy rocks. Seriously. I hadn't had a haircut in months--was totally shaggy. He sat me down, looked at my face, grabbed 3 colors and just went for it. 2 hours later, I had a tri-color mowhawk with the most kick-ass designs...unbelievable. I just had the deep conditioning treatment and a hair cut done by Jeremy and it was amazing!! My hair feels like silk and the cut is exactly what I wanted!
