Blink and you'll miss it, but if you've got your eyes open and you're looking for a decent Hookah Bar in the Allston area, Sheesha Lounge shouldn't disappoint. The Shisha flavors are fairly varied, though they could be a hit-or-miss. The Jasmine is some of the smoothest I've ever had, while the Double Apple wasn't anything special, and almost had a Black Licorice flavor to it (which I don't mind, if I order Black Licorice). The quality of Shisha seems pretty high, given the fact that there were virgin hookah smokers in the group I attended with and none of them dealt with any coarse or harsh smoke. The Hookahs were good, since myself and the party I was with had two flavors we ended up swapping hookahs, and both got decent pulls without any major issue. The lounge provides hose caps for hygienic reasons, which is nice - though it was strange that they didn't seem to have any multi-hose hookahs. Atmosphere wise, the Sheesha Lounge is a great place to chill and converse. The Techno music playing was a little upbeat for my Hookah-time desires (I don't mind techno, but when I'm in a dimly lit hookah bar I prefer something totally mellow), but it was kept at a reasonable volume so I didn't have to fight to speak to people. The large television in the center of the bar is part 'cool' part 'distraction.' The night we were there they were showing a wildlife show, and watching a tiger attack a gazelle while mellowing out elicited a strange response from our party - the women present felt it was sad, the men were rooting for the tiger - but I can't help but think the feelings evoked were totally out of place. When I smoke with friends, it's social, so the television was pushed to the back burner in short order. I suppose it works for some people, but it wasn't for me. The staff seemed very nice, and I even discussed Honey Shisha with one of them. Hopefully someday it'll be on the flavor roster! They seemed genuinely happy to work at the place, which is a good thing, because it reflects in their work. They were prompt with coal adjustments and friendly overall. The crowd on the night we went was fine. Another review here mentions the crowd and/or the staff had attitude, but I didn't experience anything of the sort. In fact, the other patrons kept to themselves except for when my party asked another person to take a group photo of us, and they obliged kindly. Finally, prices. Sure - it's expensive. Anyone who expects prices to match Shisha you'd purchase for at-home use is crazy. This is a Hookah Bar. We all know beer is a lot cheaper at the packie than it is at a bar, but that's just the way things are. Add to that the fact that you smoke Hookah in group, and the total cost is spread a bit more than if you get an MGD at the watering hole. Any way you cut it, it's not unreasonable. All in all, Sheesha Lounge is a very solid little Hookah Bar. I can easily anticipate a return visit to try some of the other flavors on their menu. The experience was an overall pleasurable one, and I'd recommend Sheesha Lounge to anyone in the Allston/Brighton area looking for a Hookah fix. read more

A cozy place and kind of out of the way (everything in Allston is out of the way though), but it has a nice atmosphere, wide selection of sheesha flavors, and good service. I went a while back, on a random weeknight, so it wasn't crowded at all. The seats by the windows can get super drafty and cold during the winter, but they have a little portable space heater that help if you still want the nice spots despite the chill. Prices are reasonable especially if you have the Yelp deal-- I had some tea (which isn't really worth it, but I've never considered some hot water from an electric kettle and a tea bag to be worth $3.50. free refills though!), and a pretty standard mango flavor. After looking for a decent, laid back hookah hang out for what seemed like forever, I finally gave this place a chance last night. Went with a few friends and had an amazing time. Ruth, our server/advisor was super friendly and fit the atmosphere of the place perfectly. Per her recommendation we got the "head buzz" and it was AWESOME! I didnt get a buzz, but i did get a very yummy, soothing blend of sheesha with ice and oranges in the base. To top it all off there are a bunch of great board games to play while your enjoying your hookah. Great place, great atmosphere, great service and great sheesha. 5 stars and two thumbs up! read more

I like this place a lot. The staff has always been wonderful, and they have a great selection of flavors to choose from. It's very small and cozy inside, but beautifully decorated. I think it can get a little pricey, especially when trying their 'custom' flavors, but hey, it's a splurge. It's one of those few places where you'll actually be impressed by how above and beyond the staff go to serve you. They do a phenomenal job, despite being total hipster vegan potheads that like to listen to shit music and watch shit indie movies. And what makes it very different from the other hookah bars is the entertainment they provide. The staff regularly plays movies or popular television programs on the projector, and there are plenty of card and board games. If you're lucky to nab a spot near the window, you can land yourself a nice, isolated booth that's perfect for a date. And they offer standard fare of hookah, as well as some great combinations. Price is pretty good too! The downside? This place is the size of David the Gnome's house. Yes that's right, I made an obscure cartoon reference. Don't even act like you don't know what I'm saying right now! It's too tiny, so coming here around most nights will almost always automatically result in waiting. Better to hold off until all those pesky college kids pack up and go home to test your luck grabbing a seat here. And unlike the Nile, they don't bother taking down names and phone numbers to call those people that are on the waiting list. What's a guy like me supposed to do, hang outside in the bitter cold? Love this hookah bar. The staff is great. The Dj is awesome and the flavors are delicious. Jaz is the sweetest, nicest, most amazing server. She made sure we were taken care of gave us our favorite little spot and made sure our coals were burning nicely. She kept the same positive attitude and energy with all the guests there. She was a delight. The Dj was playing the best songs ever he definitely did his thing the mood, the ambiance and the vibes were all a 10. I wish the corner had a curtain to block the view of outside though. Other than that no complaints. You will definitely enjoy your time here. I went here with a group of 8 and I had a pretty good time. The flavor combos are awesome, the pricing is wonderful and the customer service is really great. It would be nice if there was an awning or indoor space for customers to wait, but the lounge itself is really small and it seems like you must wait outside. We were unlucky with cold and rainy weather, but we stuck around to get in. The music was loud so I had trouble talking to and hearing people speak. Had a great night here last Friday! So four of us came here, looking to hookah for the night, and it turned out to be way smaller than expected. We were told the wait was roughly 45 minutes, so we got dinner at Café Brazil next door. Luckily, a big group was leaving once we came back and they seated us right away. And from there we absolutely fell in love with the place. They had movies playing overhead the whole night (we had Baseketball, but I saw their DVD collection and they had everything--from American Psycho to Harry and the Hendersons), a game on the TVs, and really great music selections; comfy couches, cool eclectic decor, board games and card games... I could go on and on about it. Then the staff was really nice and friendly. There was only a pair working the night we came in, but they were really helpful, from telling us about their special blends to refilling our coals and drinks the whole night. I loved this place, and the combination of Head Buzz and Moroccan Mint tea absolutely sealed the deal for me; definitely coming back ASAP. One note: it is VERY small. They can only accommodate 6-8 groups of 4 MAX. You should go in, see how long the wait is, and grab a bite to eat nearby in the meantime. WOW what an amazing hookah lounge! The atmosphere is vibrant, relaxing and hip. My best friend and I came here on a Friday night and had the most amazing experience. We ordered one of the specialty flavor hookah and two teas and it was about $50 total. The owner and staff treat you like royalty and cater to your experience. My friends and I wandered in here on a whim in the early evening on a weeknight. I had purchased a yelp deal and we figured we would check the place out. Previously we had tried to use the deal, but Sheesha was closed, so we went to another local hookah bar. They turned away one of my friends, even though she had her SS card/birth certificate/paper permit and was with her twin sister. But whatevs that's their prerogative and it's respectable. We stayed, and had a very lacking experience. Too loud, employees were VERY inattentive. I include that to contrast what a fantastic time we had at the Sheesha Lounge. The employee accepted my friends government docs and recommended us the Boston Blaze (I believe). Delicious. Complete with fresh orange slices in the base! It lasted us many rounds of Apples to Apples and cups of sweet Moroccan mint tea-which was promptly refilled. All in all it was a great time! Low-key, very chill. They had music playing and Who Framed Roger Rabbit was showing on a projector. The place filled up as night-time hit, but it never got too loud, and we never got ignored. The lounge itself isn't bad although it's very tiny. The music was great we went on a Saturday night and we instantly felt good vibes. The problem came when my friend asked if they serve alcohol and one of the employees said "no", so we decided to go to another hookah lounge and I guess this pissed off the other employee. He was so rude to us. He came over told us he needs to take our menus back if and if we're not ordering anything we need to get out because he needs the space. Keep in mind, the lounge was almost completely empty until we walked in. Came here on a Tuesday evening with a serious hankering for hookah. We easily snagged a window table (which was a tad bit drafty, so perhaps not the best option for a cooler night) and deliberated over the menu. Our server, Mike, came by to offer advice and we finally settled on a blend of blueberry and lemon - a truly juicy combo. And, of course, a couple cups of Moroccan Mint tea. After Jeopardy! was over, they switched on some college basketball and set up the projector to play Cool Hand Luke - um, awesome! The atmosphere was very relaxing, awesome tunes were played, and the other patrons were quite chill and friendly. Sheesha has the best vibe. From the music to the set up to the service. A lot of people complain about the service. If you're used to service around the clock, You might not like it. But overall I found the staff very accommodating and welcoming. Coals were kept fresh. I wish you could do half-stars, because i wanna give this place 4.5 stars! Anyway- I've been going here for a year or two, and I have to say I have yet to be truly disappointed. The only times I've left this place with a frown is when theyre full and the wait is well over an hour. The people who work here are all very sweet, they'll switch the music to your liking, they'll pop in a DVD that you request, or if you're into sports- theyll even throw on the game upon request. NOT BAD AT ALL! Prices are average for a hookah bar, and they use top-notch stuff. While I'm at school, I cant bring my beautiful Maya hookah in the building so it's great to come to this spot from time to time for my release. Anyway, let me stop rambling- because clearly I have an issue with that... The cast of characters who work here are awesome. I don't know names but theres the cute girl, on the thin side, who is almost always here when I stop by. She's a total sweet heart! and she knows her ish! The girl with the tattoos is who I dealt with while here last weekend. She was awesome. My friend and I were here for a solid 2 hours and we were never rushed or felt like we were taking up space. She was very courteous, and stopped to have general conversations with us- not just run of the mill waitress talk. Theres also a guy here who I've seen working a few times. He's not super tall and is average build -but hes also very nice and is always interested in the music we request on their pandora playlist. Now theres the one teeny negative I have for this place. while here recently, my bill was a bit effed up and i ended up being charged 5 dollars twice (i had a 20 dollar charge on my card and i tipped her $5, which went through twice)- it really isnt that big of a deal, I know sometimes credit card machines can be a royal pain in the butt... so i def will let it slide. Great place to go with one of your friends and kick it because the vibe and the environment is so chill... The music is usually good and the staff is generally nice... If you're going for the look of the place don't because there's burn holes all over the couch which is understandable because it is a hookah lounge... The hookah can be strong so if you're not a pro at smoking good quality hookah this place isn't for you... The only reason I'm giving this place three stars is because the bathroom was filthy, and when I did try to complain I was shrugged off... I went to Sheesha Lounge this past Sunday, it was my second time, both experiences were great. I brought my sister and brother-in-law, both who have never tried hookah, and they said they had a lot of fun. It was very relaxing, a great way to cure a hangover! It was a cool way to spend a lazy Sunday. I have been back here three times since I last updated this review, and once again I had a great time! There really is nothing more relaxing than sitting back and smoking some hookah wit friends. I don't write reviews very often unless I'm absolutely blown away by a place! I've been a customer at the Sheesha Lounge for two years now since I started college. All I can say is this: AWESOME! I've been to a few of the other hookah lounges around Boston, but none have impressed me as much as the Sheesha Lounge has. I look for various things. A nice environment. Good customer service. Friendly employees. And great product. Sheesha Lounge has all of those! Their employees are all so kind and amiable! They have great suggestions for hookah mixes that are all absolute delightful! Among my favorites are Happy Daze and Peach Cobbler! Sidenote: the pineapple bowls are amazing and complement fruity flavors very well (mango, guava...) Also, a great one would be Bluemist in an apple bowl! The prices are incredibly decent and well worth it. I come at various times depending on what I'm looking for. Sometimes I come in from 3pm-6pm (their happy hour time on thursdays - sundays) and simply take my time, relax to chill music and study. Definitely a great environment to get some last minute studies done. I also have come during the night time with my friends for mini parties or girls night. Friday and Saturday nights get packed! The music gets louder and much more pumped up. Kindof like a club-ish environment that is perfect when going out with friends. They play great songs from recent hits to old favorites and a lot of dance hall. I absolutely love this place and all the employees who have always treated me very well and have all been very helpful. As for cons: There aren't really any big cons. The place is a little small so on weekends it can get super crowded and the wait list can get a bit lengthy. (However, they're open until 2am. Worth the wait!) The music can get a little loud. So, if you don't mind loud music and a bit of waiting on a weekend (which can easily be avoided by coming in earlier) even with the mini cons, you only have a great experience to gain. Definitely look into coming in thursdays fridays saturdays and sundays between 3pm-6pm because all hookah mixes are 15$!!! I love this place. Great service. Great environment. Great people. RUDEST MOST DISRESPECTFUL SERVICE EVER! I knew about this lounge for about 4 years now. It was amazing before new management was introduced 2 years ago. Me and my friends were literally yelled at to leave and racist words by one of the employees was used at us and my friends. One of them actually shoved my sister and we had to call the police. I was at a similar place in Berlin over the summer...cool decor, good shisha (I'm not a connoisseur or anything, but I liked it!), stayed open nice and late. awww Sheesha! I have had the pleasure of going to this place a few times in the last year thanks to the Yelp Deal. I've been to a few Hookah Bars, and Sheesha is definitely not my favorite, yet it has a unique feeling to it. It's one of those places I will be going back to, the only problem with this place is the wait. There is just no way of knowing how long you have to wait and no place to wait at. over the summer waiting is no problem, the problem with waiting is in Boston's extremely cold winters because there is no waiting area. I have probably attempted to make it in the place 5 times and have only manage to go pass the waiting twice. Those two times I did make it inside, I must say I had an amazing experience, our waitress was super nice, Hookah was delicious, and with the Yelp deal It's really inexpensive compare to other places. what I didn't like so much was how unauthentic the place is, the music is on request so most people that go here request raps and other top 40 kind of music, which takes away from the authentic Arabic experience I expect to get from a hookah lounge. Thankfully you can request Arabic music and make your own middle eastern atmosphere. 3 out of probably the 4 times I was told I had to wait I left right away. The one time I did decide it was worth the wait I waited around an hour and nothing, but then again I was accompanied by a group of 6. The waitress was nice about it, but did not give me realistic expectations on my waiting time. I guess o next time I should just go with a smaller group, at an earlier time and not on a Friday night. Overall this place is great if you are over 18 and under 21, in the city of Boston which has a lot of things to do for people over 21 but not enough for the ones in between 18 and 21. Of course there is also habibi's one street over, which has a more authentic atmosphere but squishes people to fit everyone in and create less of a waiting time. I would recommend waiting till you can head out to NYC or Providence for some hookah, they have amazing spacious places, that sometimes even host belly dancers, If your like me stuck in Boston for a while, heading to sheesha on a monday, tuesday or wednesday night = not a bad idea. read more

Great place. Set inside is surprisingly well done with the space they have. Not too crowded but no space left unreserved. Movie projecter is a unique touch that I haven't seen before. The smoking itself is great and the staff are nice and the smoking selection is excellent. Expect to throw down a decent amount of money for the evening, but it is well worth it. This place is seriously clutch. Very chill and laid back. I usually get the Double Apple, a staple favorite, and couple it with one of their great selection of teas. The staff is really friendly and down to earth. They also have a great selection of board/card games that you are free to play.The ambiance sets up the mood, and if you ever land up visiting the bath room, the graffiti would surely crack you up. I usually hit this place up for a late weeknight chill out session when its less crowded. I have been going here for years now. I have seen multiple management changes and new staff, but they all know me now. It is a nice little place to come smoke Hookah, listen to music and relax. The service is good, and staff is friendly. The atmosphere is nice and chill. Great for groups to come and enjoy a nice Hookah session. They have a TV and a projector so you can watch sports. Staff take care of you and make sure that the Hookah is smoking proper. A bowl will last you at least couple hours. They have soda, water, and tea for drinks. Also have chips and salsa. This is a nice small lounge and gets packed. The wait time can be up to an hour on the weekends. I prefer coming before 10pm to get in without waiting an hour. Prices are not bad at all. read more

Place was super cool, good funkshway I was into it! It was an awesome alternative the the usual, so I'm def going back.
