These guys are great! Just took my new car in for the 3rd wash here, and they've been consistently good every time. They pay attention to detail, are thorough and honest. When I got in my car after they were done today there was a $5 bill in the console that I'd remembered throwing in my purse last week, but couldn't find when I went to look for it a few days...they easily could have taken it, as I would have been none the wiser, but they didn't. The price is great, I get the mid range wash, w/ vacuum and windows, and they wipe everything down (dash, side pockets, seats, etc), and even vacuum the trunk...highly recommended! read more

For the car wash: They left a large oil stain on my white Hyundai (about 2.5 inches across). When I pointed out the stain to them after they were 'finished' washing my car, they were able to remove it in less than 30 seconds. Makes me wonder what other stains they were leaving. Afterwards, they refused to give me a voucher for the next wash, even though I had purchased the works for $23.95. read more

I have gone there for years. No problem. I went last week with an Audi A3 that is one month old for a wash. After I drove back to my office I parked and the sun was shining through the windshield and I saw that is was scratched. I went back immediately they were defensive, accusatory, and awful. They said I must have had my windshield wipers on but the scratches were orthogonal and beyond the sweep of the wipers. The person in charge would not even give me his name. It is not the Hispanic workers there. They are so nice if seemingly oppressed. I asked for the name of the owner and the man thrust a card in my hand that said Mohammed. Not so helpful. DO NOT GO HERE. Something has changed. Who knows. Not nice people. read more

This car wash is horrible. We went in for the full works to clean our car and it came out looking almost the exact same. There were crumbs in the seats and it wasn't even vacuumed up. The interior was so bad, it looked as if they didn't even clean it. I will never be returning here again! read more

Been going here for a few years (my office is right down the street). It's never been the best wash but usually when you point out the spots they missed they are happy to touch it up and it's generally fine for what you pay for. This morning, however, they were extremely rude when I pointed out all the missed spots of dirt, grime, and bird droppings and told me if I wanted a better job done I needed to pay for detailing. After talking with the manager, I requested a refund and had to debate with him for 5 minutes to finally get it. Maybe on another day I could have waited around for them to wash the whole thing again to do what they should have done the first time but today I had to get to a meeting and simply wanted my money back. read more

I've had good experiences in the past but will no longer use this car wash as I had it washed on Monday and then noticed my black leather was covered in a white film on both front and door panels. So I go back on Wednesday, show my receipt and ask them to clean off the white film only. They VERY reluctantly agree to wipe it down after the guy at the cashier said he would tell the interior wash guys to wipe it down and did not so had to tell the interior wash guy and he was so annoyed to have to clean up after someone else. $25 car wash and the interior looks terrible, not acceptable. In SF it can be hard to come across a car wash place. And if you find one, they'll charge up the wazoo. I was looking for a really deep interior cleaning + shampoo. This place did it for a fraction of what a place in the city was asking, and they did a great job. Inside of my car looks brand new, all done in a timely manner. read more

I've been going here for 4 years. They've gotten better over time. I've found them to be pretty great. I had a scratch on my fake leather dashboard and took it in today. The guy at the desk offered to come out and take a look. He called over one of his guys. They tried to fix it with Armoral. It helped but didn't fix it. I didn't expect them to fix it but I appreciated the effort. I've never had any problems with the guy at the desk. I've saw another review trash him. Overall, I'm very happy with their work and they're a little cheaper than the other places in southern marin. Usually not a line either. read more

Took the sedan in for wash. It took awhile but then again, it was busy. They did a really nice job. The car was really dirty and they got it really clean inside and out with the in&out deal ($17 bucks). read more

I took two cars in succession there last week and just wanted to note that I would definitely use them again. They had a very efficient system and everyone seemed to take their task seriously. I have not yet found a good drive-in car wash that I could leave with a clean car. The Shell in Sausalito has worked for me, by combining a nice lunch in Sausalito with filling the tank and washing the car before returning to SF. These guys do a decent job in working on the car before it goes in to the automatic part of the wash, and the do dry it up afterwards. And I have never had to wait for too long. read more

This is the best car wash in the north bay. Staff is friendly and thorough, car always comes out spotless.

Totally half a**, they missed tons of spots on the inside and the seat had a small puddle in it when they told me it was done. Not friendly except for the one guy who came to great me in the beginning. And no, my car does not smell like Pina Coloda. read more

This gas station/car wash is not as friendly as when Herb Weiner used to own it, but everybody seems to work pretty hard, and they've been nice enough to me. When they wash my car, they do a good job. I haven't had any spots or scratches as others have said. They have a Full Service lane, but I'm not sure anyone ever instructed the employees in what that term really means, so I never use it. But the main thing is - compared to the travesty known as Bridgeway Gas, the only other gas game in this town, this Shell station is Pure Gold and a pleasure! read more

I've taken my Jeep here almost every week for 4 years but today was the last time. For the price, the quality of the car wash is excellent and the employees are always super friendly...except for the manager. Instead of recognizing me as a frequent customer, he has become more and more confrontational. Everything from telling me my tires are too big (even though I've been there probably close to 200 times) to telling me my car is too dirty to clean because of the drought to trying to over charge me. I know, I know...first world problems. But the employees work hard and I've always tipped them very well...and they remember me every time so it makes me kinda sad to have to go somewhere else because the manager is a jerk. So today after he decided he didn't want my business anymore, I went to the Chevron on Seminary in Mill Valley. Slightly more expensive but worth it. read more

My car needed major washing and looking at all the reviews I couldn't find a place to go to. I found Shell Service Station and decided to take a chance. I am glad I did. Everyone was helpful from the beginning. 2 men cleaned my car before it went into the carwash and really cleaned it. It had 2 months worth of dirt from living in the country and was dirty. At the other side there were 2 men waiting for me and they spent a lot of time cleaning the inside of my car. My car looked amazing. So so clean. I had the 18.95 wash and gave them 5.00 tip. So many people working on my car and making sure it was really clean. Today is the 3rd day after my car wash and I looked at my car and it was still shiny and clean. Very happy. read more

This used to be the best car wash in the area until the business changed hands several years ago. Now the only thing it has going for it is a reasonable price structure. They are incapable of adequately cleaning the roof of a tall vehicle like my SUV and after going there for many years the accumulated crap in the roof rack rails caused the paint to deteriorate. Two weeks ago they vacuumed off a safety warning label that the vehicle manufacturer attached to the passenger side sun visor, creating a hole in the fabric covering. From now on I'll do the drive to Royal Coach in San Rafael. Their prices are stratospheric but it's a small price to pay to ensure proper care of my car'. read more

I work nearby and often stop at the Sausalito Shell Service Station for gas at the end of the day and/or a (very!) reasonably priced car wash. I've never had a problem with the service until my most recent visit when I received my car back after a wash and my GPS was no longer in it. (Thankfully, I did manage to get it back, but not without a lengthy and uncomfortable exchange with a whole team of service attendants.) As convenient as it is, I cannot bring myself to return -- even for a fill-up. read more

I have talked to the other customers while I have been there and also to other parents at my kids' school who go to this car wash. They all love it. WOW!!! I am so happy right now. I get my car washed here frequently and they always do a great job. I asked them if they could do anything about the huge scratches on the side of my car - someone sideswiped me on the road. He said he would do a detail for me and do his best to get them out. He didn't tell me he could do magic! The scratches are GONE. The car looks amazing. These guys do the best detailing in Marin!! I was quoted 5 times as much by another car wash in Marin and a whole lot more from a body shop. Thank you!! I'm a very happy customer. I wish I had before and after pics to post. read more

I am outraged! I have been going to this car wash for at least a year now.. and today they refused to wash my car. Apparently they are only in the business of washing clean cars. The guy at the front kiosk (who I have never seen before) asked what I would like- when I told him I needed just your basic inside and out cleaning- he went out of his way to look into my car where my very well behaved black lab was lying and said- "No- your car is too dirty- it would take them too much time-we can only do the outside." I was in complete disbelief- for starters- my car was not that dirty. It had your average dust and dirt on the outside.. and the interior just needed a quick vacuum. I have leather seats so seriously what would be so difficult?? Clearly this guy is a dog hater... or he's so rich he doesn't need the business. What's next? "oh- you have kids? I am sorry- we can't clean your car- there are too many gold fish crackers in the seats" You own a car wash buddy and you charge over 20 bucks a wash! It is so outrageous. I wouldn't go back to that car wash if it were the last car wash on earth. read more
