We were driving down the road and saw a shopping center so we decided to pull in and see what they had. There was a Publix so the shopping center was a little nicer. There was a Mexican restaurant a few stores down, so we decided to give it a try. We love Mexican, but we did not love this place. It's the worst Mexican I've ever eaten in my entire life. I asked if they had horchata and the lady looked confused and said they only had Pepsi products. Okay. I ordered the chimichanga with beef tips and a chili relleno with cheese. The chili relleno wasn't cooked long enough because the cheese wasn't melted. That was the best thing I ate. And it was just okay. The beef in the chimichanga was awful. So gross. It was red and I bit into something hard. Like a bone maybe. Idk. I spit it out and didnt eat anymore more. The beans were gross too, as well as the rice. Hubby got a beef quesadilla and when he opened it, it had the same nasty looking red meat but there were like four pieces of it. Most of it was the nasty refried beans. I question the reviews of anyone who gave this place four or five stars. Don't come here. It's terrible. We were also the only people here at lunch time, so obviously other people don't like it either. It was clean, so that's nice but the food sucks.

Probs my least favorite Mexican I've had so far in all of RVA. There isn't any significantly wrong with it, but I would never choose to eat here, especially with Potros only a mile away up the street. They said their arroz con pollo was a speciality of theirs so I ordered it to go. Super disappointed in the lack of rice they put, I've never gotten such a little amount of rice for arroz con pollo. There was plenty of pale, underseasoned, unappealing looking chicken however. Barely any cheese dip on top either. Just a bunch of chicken really. The Refried beans were pretty standard but soupy which I didn't like. The chorizo cheese dip was super good if I ever came here I'd just order that probs!

Recently tried this place out. Really good enchiladas, service is exceptional. Great mexican food in the new west end. Penny the dog approved.

The food & service were absolutely horrible! They were cleaning tables without sanitizing them. The picture below is a $11.99 taco salad, which I threw directly in the trash. They brought my daughter a plate of steak with pineapple when she ordered the Tropical Pineapple. The staff were unfriendly and this place is definitely not recommended. The best thing about this place was the rapid pay of the bill.

Fast service, our server was friendly and attentive, we loved our margaritas, and our food came out super fast. We had a great experience and will definitely be coming back!

This place was recommended to me by my realtor, and I will for sure be back!!! It had amazing flavor, great beans and rice, and the staff were super friendly during pickup (Damn you 'Rona). I can't wait to eat here again.

Solid Mexican joint! Friendly staff, quick service, and good food. If you love chipotle sauce, try their Burrito al Chipotle - you won't be disappointed.

Another trip to Richmond, another new bite to eat, this is one of my favorite things about going down there. Jamee V. and Leah S. have a lot to do with it, but think of all those untapped restaurants just calling my name. Saturday night we went to Nuevo Mexican Restaurant to calm south of the boarder craving. We started with the standard chips and salsa and whatever that yummy ranch like hybrid dip they have. The salsa has a nice kick to it, it isn't overly spicy but has better flavor than most of the watered down gringo salsas people serve around here. Mom ordered queso and guacamole too; she thought she was feeding a small army. The queso is a white cheese which is a nice change from melted velveta I'm use too. The guacamole was good however it had chopped up tomato in it, and since I think tomatoes are the spawn of Satan, I didn't eat much of it. I ordered the Tacos Al Pastor. Basically... Al Pastor is a Central Mexican dish that uses dried chilies and pineapple to marinate and tenderize the pork. It's stewed together with some other spices and simply served in flour tortillas with raw white onion and cilantro. So simple and so delicious. The employees here are eager to help and are quick to get you anything you will need. My only complaint is the check out procedures. The servers don't take your payment; you have to stand near the register up front a la I-HOP style. The line gets pretty long, especially when the people in front of you are splitting their check, add that to the people coming in the door waiting to be seated and you have a little bit of chaos!

I usually always get al pastor tacos, but I decided to try the chori burrito this time. I couldn't believe how big the burrito came out, it was amazing! I also like the amount of booths here and the amazing service!

I left the one star review so that it might come to the attention of upper management. It will not deter us from returning again. People aren't born a happy server. However, with training, they become awesome personality for the restaurant. Our server was not a people person . No hello or welcome to the restaurant. They did not revisit our table to check our drinks, however, another server stepped in and refreshed our drinks. Our original server never stopped by to see if we needed anything or wanted anything else.. The quality of service is a staple to the survival of a business that serves the public . The decorations, were identical to the other ones that were in the area. Awesome. I ordered the beef and chicken nachos appetizer. It comes loaded with meat and cheese. More than any other entrée in the dinner menu selection. . So much so it's too much food for one sitting.

Food was ready in about 10 minutes and it was amazing! The elote was loaded with a ton of cotija cheese. The shrimp tacos were seasoned really well and tasted amazing with a squeeze of lime and the salsa verde. The quesabirria tacos were my favorite especially paired with the consommé(I would recommend also squeezing some lime juice to elevate the flavors even more). The meat was tender and seasoned well. It would have been even better if the outside shell also had cheese as well, but nonetheless it was a fantastic taco. Overall a phenomenal Mexican restaurant with great tacos! I ordered a birria taco served with cilantro, white onions, and consommé, and it did not disappoint. The flavor of the meat was outstanding, and the portion was so generous I easily made two tacos out of it. The consommé paired nicely with the taco, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. While it was already delicious, adding cheese and sour cream would make it absolutely next level. Overall, the quality, flavor, and portion size really stood out. As soon as we got in there were screaming children and loud music. After we were seated our waiter came up and took our order without writing it down. I assumed he was good at his job. I also noticed when it got to the table that it looked great but the sauce on the "burrito" was pizza sauce. It tasted exactly like pizza sauce. My dad said his food was ok. The refried beans tasted like they were burnt and nothing like what refried beans should taste like. I love Mexican food whether authentic or not.
