Hot food & nice selection !!

Let's find out !! Tuesday 11/23/21 @ 12 Noon Plenty of street parking !! Been working in a the area and found this spot when making a U - Turn !! Great find !! A real old Iris deli restaurant !! Cold out today so I was looking for something to stick to ya ribs !! I had a to keep it healthy so I went with their grilled chicken with this delicious carrot smashed purée ... totally replaced the mash potatoes !!! Along with their sautéed broccoli & cauliflower, everything was super moist & very tasty !! Also had to get two pieces of their delicious Roast Pork with their brown gravy !! Really hit the spot !! If I was not dieting my would have had their Irish bangers, their 6 inch home made ham & cheese pies; their mash potatoes and a lil of everything that was in their steam table ... big selection !! Also looks like they import a lot of cookies; candies speciality / novelties from their country huge selection !! The servers were very polite & the store was super clean ... This review was solely based on my chicken & Roast Pork .... 5 stars, as my fellow yelpers know I can't throw out the 5th start without exploring the rest of their menu !!! Look forward to do so that in the near future !! Definitely recommend this place !! I will be back to try those pies & Shepherds pie as well !! Thanks, Greg D.

We've passed by this place countless times, and I've always wondered what we would find in this cute little deli in that peculiar spot. I looked up some reviews and noticed they had a yummy-looking pork sausage roll that reminded me of something I loved as a kid, but could not find the equivalent of as an adult no matter where I looked. Oddly (but fortunately) enough, I finally came to try Shelly's sausage roll, and believe it or not, this Irish cafe's version has actually been THE closest to the Chinese pork roll I loved as a kid. I don't need to tell you how shocked I was to find that it was even better than the pork rolls I've had at many other Chinese bakeries. Shelly's sausage roll is flaky, served warm, and the sausage encased within is very flavorful, and pretty hefty. I have to thank the other yelpers that posted photos of it that drew me in. I am officially hooked, and will gladly become a regular just to sink my teeth into that savory pastry, which is priced just right (I believe it is under $3). They have another savory pastry called the "jambon" which is ham and cheese, which also sounds great, but I didn't try it on this trip. The deli also sells a ton of fun treats and goodies imported from Ireland and overseas. They have a lot of different snack items like chocolates, chips, cookies, crackers, breads, frozen meats, and pantry-safe sundries like sauce mixes, jams, and I even caught an Irish soda bread mix. They also have a hot bar with delicious-looking Irish entrees, and we learned that they have nightly dinner specials. They also have coffee and teas, and some interesting latte concoctions. For now, we just went in just for the pork rolls, and I picked up a few other drinks and snacks that caught my attention, but I'd gladly come back to try their hot foods. This Irish deli is a real gem of a place, and I love that it is something I have not really seen in the five boroughs, let alone Maspeth, Queens. BTW, the staff is super friendly and they accept cc, which is always helpful.

Rounding up from a 3.5 here. I ordered lunch for St. Paddy's Day today. The food was good, but rounding up to a 4 because it's a pretty good value for the amount of food you get. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage with champ and a slice of the Shepards pie. The food certainly wasn't light, but I decided to indulge a little more since it was a holiday. I also got a side of the cole slaw. The corned beef was good, not too fatty. The champ was very rich and buttery. And the shepards pie was good, but the mashed potatoes were a bit drier on this one. The cole slaw was a bit too mayo-heavy for my taste, but that's personal preference. All in all, a pretty good meal!

Always friendly, always delicious. Authentic Irish deli, with a great staff, amazing food and all the snacks and sweets one could wish for! Perfect for enjoying a quick lunch whether you sit in or take it to go, street parking all around and they deliver too! Ever since I discovered Shelly's Deli, it has become my favourite lunch spot thanks Shelly :)

I had the Irish Chicken Burger here, came with a side of fries. The burger was fantastic; the fries were okay, nothing spectacular. Price was on point, I don't think you can get the burger a la carte. The cashier was very helpful. I'd be back! There are a bunch of outlets lining the wall, and the ambiance was pretty cozy and quiet. You might be able to get work done here with a friend.

Curry cheese fries and a jealous dog

I ordered food from grubhub for delivery. The estimated time was 70 minutes but I ended up waiting about an hour and 50 minutes. The delivery man apologized and explained that they had a lot of orders earlier. I wasn't too upset because I was expecting to wait long because of previous reviews. I ordered the curry cheese fries, sausage rolls, and croissants. The curry cheese fries were amazing. Most of the curry had fallen to the bottom of the plate but you can just dip your fries in the curry. The sausage rolls were delicious. The pastry and flaky and delicious and the sausage was very tasty. I got one plain croissant and one Nutella croissant. The Nutella croissant was just a plain croissant cut open with Nutella spread on it. The croissants were good but obviously not the best I've ever had considering this isn't a bakery. Overall, the food was good but the service could be improved.

Within ten minutes, it became a full-contact sport involving napkins and a high probability of a food coma. The Lineup: The Ori Emo: Pure Pat LaFrieda beef doing the heavy lifting. It's "wink-at-your-trainer-while-you-skip-the-gym" good. Weary Fries: Appropriately named. Between the mozzarella, grilled corn, and double aioli, these fries are so heavy they should come with a structural engineering permit. BBQ Wings: Hand-battered, crispy, and sweet. The only thing they didn't survive was my sons. The Finish Line: We topped it off with a chocolate shake thick enough to defy physics and their famous bread pudding. That already put this place ahead of the game. I ordered the Double Otto Butcher Burger -- double brisket & chuck blend, bacon, Otto sauce, lettuce, tomato. Absolute beast of a burger. You can taste the beef blend, cooked perfectly, no nonsense, no shortcuts. This is how a real burger is supposed to hit. Belgian fries? Crispy, hot, flawless. No notes. Our steak were cokked medium rare, perfectly. While we were having lunch, Sal the butcher came by our table and offered us a fried meatball. Its an item not in the menu, but if it was up to me, i think it should be on the menu. The meatballs was tender, juicy and well seasoned. The sides that came with the steak were good except for the baked potato, i say skip it all together. The baked potato cannot compete with the fresh cur french fries. As always great service and lunch was delicious! The mushroom and the cream of spinach were excellent, the cream of spinach had just enough cream and seasoning that it goes perfectly with the flat iron steak. Parking was difficult to find, eventually we found a free spot about 2 blocks away. I would definitely recommend the lunch special, if you can make it in for a quick hour of service.

Every staff member was super young--barely legal or not even. Every interaction felt like staff were practicing their lines, playing a role in a play, and us, customers, were just cast. Waiters and buss boys were speaking to us like we were dumb/deaf/on the spectrum/high/drunk. It was so disconcerting. Never had such weird experience. Made me so uncomfortable. We were the first ones in the door with 11am reservation on a Saturday. The place filled up quickly. High noise level. Not the best for large groups. The burgers sell out quickly, as only 68 are prepared daily, so we snagged those right away. So delicious. Double smashed cheeseburger--simple and satisfying. Very rich. Would return for this again. French toast was disappointing. Looked pretty but tasted of nothing. It wasn't French toast in a traditional preparation: it was bread pudding cut into a slice and drizzled with syrup and served French toast style. The texture was of a moist but bland bread pudding. Utterly disappointing. Skip. War potatoes (crispy potatoes that are served as a side, with a dollop of super spicy sauce) were very tasty. Double or triple fried to a crispy perfection. Love me some perfectly crisp potatoes. These are super caloric, so prepare for some heartburn after. Ask for war sauce on the side because it is SPICY. House made pistachio gelato was superb. So many pistachios--I'd eat this daily and would return for this!
