I stayed here for a conference, PSA Health Academy. Great location if you want to be downtown. I used the Marriott app to check in, and the process was seamless. I see some Yelpers' complaints on the parking; if you are staying in the hotel, parking is only $11 a day, and they can add it on to your room. I had no issue finding spaces near the elevator. You use your room key to enter and exit the garage. When I checked out, I was confused how I'd get out, but I just pressed the button for help and gave my name, and there was no issue. Staff was all very helpful and polite. The conference food was great. I would definitely consider hosting an event here. My room was nice and very clean. I was on the 21st floor and had a good city view. I elected to go green (and not get any maid service) for 500 rewards points. It's really nice that they offer you that choice. read more

I always like to start with the good in a place. People tent to focus on the negative and often miss a great opportunity because they can't read or see the good. So let's start there. This hotel has an amazing staff. From the valet guys, to the front reception staff. To the amazing bar and waiter staff. No kidding even the security staff seemed 5 stars all the way. Upon arriving in my room the ac was set to a perfect temperature and for the entire time I stayed there it worked amazing. Never once did I return to my room from being out side in the 114 degree temp and feel like my room was not cool. In that heat a cold room is a blessing. Plus for me I like leaving the curtains open so I can see the sunrise or the city night lights. And my ac still kicked butt and kept the room perfect. I felt with 4 bartenders on a regular basis. Each one of them were different yet all of them wanted to make sure that my experience was the best it could possibly be. And not just from a normal I want big tips stand point. No I mean a genuine concern and care for their customer's. The food here is amazing as well. Please feel free to look at my review and photos of the district bar that's located inside this hotel. Sadly I did not have time to get out to the pool but many of my colleagues did. And all of them were super impressed with the 4th floor pool and oh yes another bar as well. The staff truly caters to the guest and rewards them for things like, helping the hotel go green by waiving daily house keeping. For each day you skip they offer 500 points or 5 bucks off food or drink down stairs. They have a full stocked bar with hundreds of domestic liquors, wines, and my personal favorite local craft beers. The Epicenter amber, or the Kilt Lifter are two of my favorites. The lobby and restaurants are very in touch with the local artist and proudly display their talents on the walls. As a super added bonus. You can purchase any of the art that you see. And trust me I almost bought the most amazing two canvas set in ocean blue pearl white and mirrored ascents. It was beautiful. The hotel also offers taxis on site for your convenience as well as a lobby concierge service. Its located directly across the street from a trendy mall like facility. So if your craving some fresh juice bar treat, or Hooters, maybe a local Mexican restaurant or many other options. Then just cross the road and it's there. For those here to experience something at the sports arena or baseball stadium. It's a short walk. About 5 blocks or so away. For me I found the basilica catholic church to be breathtaking. It was just 1 block over and the Sunday or daily masses should not be missed. Just seeing and feeling the history there can leave you speachless. So let's see I covered the amazing staff. Delishious restaurant and bars on location. I talked about the air Conditioning and the views from the room. Did I mention the amazing staff. Yeah but they are worth mentioning twice. Ok ok I'll make the bad painless. My complaints are small. Upon arrival they did have my room ready even though I was about 3 hours early. Which was nice. But my room was very dusty. So I cleaned the dust off of the tables. Closet cabinet. The TV. The night stands and I wiped down the bath room shelf and countertop. No biggies I just don't like dust. My one allergy. Lol. The room is very nice with quality bedding and furniture, however it seems dated. Just old style nothing fancy or special that makes you feel warm and invited. One of the lamp shades on my night stands has a broken bracket. No problem I fixed that too. The shower head was also loose and leaking in every direction. Again. I fixed it quickly as well. All that was minor. My truly biggest complaint. The carpet. I love hotels that have clean fresh looking carpet. This room the carpet looked very dingy and dirty. The threshold to the bathroom was gross looking, it was dirty and fraid. For the amount the room cost I would think at least that issue could be fixed. Have the carpets steam cleaned and restretch the carpet to fit properly. Room 1521 just in case your wondering. But those complaints are pale in comparison to the staff. I'd be please to stay there again just to enjoy the company of the staff. So if anyone from the hotel happens to read this review. Thank you for employing such an amazing staff and for each of them making this Georgia Boy feel welcome like I was a regular. Poor care of clients. Careful with the pool, there is broken glass on the floor. I told the bartender and after an hour, I stepped on another piece of glass by the pool. The bartender was not helpful or sympathetic at all. . When I spoke to the hote management, Ruth was nice. However, Steven, head of security was very uninterested in my report and would not furnish the appropriate information needed to confirm that they are filing a report..the security team supervisor also lacks customer service skills, being unable to be sympathetic to my bloody foot... the housekeeping is very nice, but what concerns me the most is the lack of client appreciation and the lack of clarity when you report an incident. Not only that, the lack of cleanliness around the pool area, specially when the pool is one of the main attractions. OPEN WOUNDS AND A PULL DONT MIX!! This is a shame for people who presume to take pride in their "Hospitality Services". Very quick to charge, not too quick to care. That's a shame, our collaborative brought in many clients for this hotel, but the personal service is lacking. I advise that you find another hotel if you want a clean, safe pool. I stayed here when I came to town for Spring Training beisbol. I wanted to stay somewhere nice but not too expensive over the weekend, and this is where I got with Starwood points. Very nice lobby, and good location. Right across the street from a University center with restaurants and shops, the convention center, and all the sports venues a few blocks away. Definitely recommend staying if you're attending a sporting even or convention. Parking available valet or in the lot. When I arrived, I was directed to park at the University center parking lot, a bit of a walk away. They gave me a validated ticket so I avoided paying the parking fee (over $20 a night). Lucky me. I had a room with club lounge access, which was definitely worth not having to worry about food. The club lounge has continental breakfast every morning and a few hours of hors d'oeuvres in the evening. At all other times there's bottled water, soda, nuts, fruit, and granola. It's open 24 hours, and while I sat there one evening, I saw a guest come in with a duffel bag and fill it with an entire shelf of water, and all of the bananas. What a douche. The room itself was small but clean. Small tv and showertub. Ok bed and comfy sheets. read more

I have now stayed at the Sheraton Grand for two consecutive years as a participant of Phoenix Comicon. I already plan to book this hotel again next year. Why? - Wonderful front desk staff. This year I arrived at about 1:30pm and I was able to check in right away, even though the official check-in is 3pm. This was a huge relief, as I had a lot to do! - The rooms. Both years, my rooms have been perfectly clean and ready for occupancy. I LOVE that they include a mini fridge. They even included two gratis water bottles--a welcome relief, considering that the temperature would hit a record 115 while I was there. - The Make a Green Choice program. I'm not keen on having strangers in my room during my stay, and it's nice that Sheraton actually rewards me for saving the housekeepers some extra work. I had a $5 voucher for each full day that I didn't use housekeeping. Both years, I have used my $10 in cards at District downstairs, which leads me into... - District. A lot of hotel restaurants are mediocre. District is one of the best restaurants in downtown Phoenix. The food, the service, the atmosphere--everything is top notch. Yeah, it's pricey, which is why going there is a once-a-year treat, and why the vouchers are nice. - Considerate touches. During Phoenix Comicon, with many participants staying at the hotel, they put vessels of ice water throughout the lobby. This was wonderful for filling bottles or getting a quick drink in a cup. As I mentioned earlier, this year it hit 115 during an unusually early hot streak, so that ready cold water was a wonderful safety measure. - The elevators. They are FAST at the Sheraton. Drop by the Hyatt, with its slow elevators and long lines to board, and you will see quite a contrast. At the Sheraton, it was possible to get from the lobby to my room (this year on the 24th floor) and back to the lobby again in a matter of minutes. - Wi-fi. Included with the room and of a good speed. - Location. If you're doing things at the convention center, it's only two blocks away. I haven't used the light rail, but the line is just a bit farther south. Lots of restaurants within a few blocks. read more

They weren't so much friendly and smiley... just professional and very helpful. Everything felt so nice. It felt good to be here. Loved the artwork. I posted some pics here on Yelp. Overall, great experience, other than the price. Very pricey. Way out of my budget. That's the only reason for sans the one star. read more

What a gorgeous hotel! The entrance alone was pretty impressive with it's large circular driveway and guys dressed in white uniforms ready to help you with your bags. In fact, the staff throughout the hotel are all very friendly and helpful. Our room was elegant and we had a fantastic view of downtown from the 25th floor. The beds were dressed with crisp white linens and they're oh so comfy. There's a flat-screen tv on the wall, plenty of lighting wherever you need it, and the bathroom has a very spa-like feel. Their towels are big and plush. The Bliss bath amenities are mandarin orange and mint scented, which were refreshing and yummy-smelling. I stayed for two nights and made my first visit to Phoenix a very comfortable one. You really get a lot for the modest nightly rate. read more

I went to Phoenix to view some art at some galleries. I booked a room at this hotel, because it was affordable and was centrally located. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The mattress was very comfortable as well. I slept like a baby. The front desk staff was accommodating as well. I have a CPAP machine, and I went to the front desk to see if there was a grocery store nearby (so I could buy some distilled water), and she stated that they had some in the hotel for guests, and I could have some if I wanted to avoid a trip to the store. They brought it right up to my room and did not charge me for it. I also ate at the restaurant one morning. The food was good, and I can be picky, so the server made some recommendations that would save me money and accommodate my picky taste. I would absolutely stay here again. The staff and the accommodations are top-notch. Some notes: The elevator system can be tricky. I parked in the garage, had to take an elevator to the lobby, switch elevators, and take the new elevator to my floor (and had to insert the room key to get to my floor). This was not troublesome, but I was confused on the process. I also like the security of having to enter a room key to get to a floor. Parking is slightly confusing on arrival. I ended up taking a ticket from the machine, parking, and then going inside and checking in. At this point I paid for the 2 day parking. Then, I discarded my ticket, and used my room key for the garage entry and exit until I left. Again, no big deal, but I wasn't sure how the process worked. I was on the 19th floor and it was really quiet for it being on the holiday weekend. Either not much guests were there or they built great walls where I can't hear my next door neighbors. Place is awesome. Extremely comfortable bed and just a beautiful shower. Location is right in the heart of Downtown Phoenix. Ideal to the ballpark and basketball stadium several blocks away. Staff is on point but the self parking and valet are kinda steep. I understand the valet but the self parking is pricy, come to think about it the price is what any metropolitan city would charge but with rooms going for $200 a night they should at least cover the parking. This hotel is an airport type hotel. The rooms are small but well equipped. Fridge, coffee pot, safe. The beds are comfortable although our mattress had a valley in the middle and so two people in the bed meant either trying to crawl up the mountain all night or just sleep sandwiched in the valley, other than that the beds were comfortable. The shower drained well, had good pressure and was clean. The only complaint is that the room had not been dusted, you could draw on the coffee table through the dust. Self park is $20 and valet $30 The garage clearance is 6ft 8in, very borderline for fitting a full size pickup. read more

For the win Sheraton Grand Phoenix! Phenomenal location if you're spending time at the convention center, close to the airport, and an easy walk to bars, restaurants, and theaters in downtown Phoenix. Room: Well appointed with usual amenities (coffee maker, hair dryer, iron) and also a mini fridge. Everything in the room was clean from counter tops, to bedding, to carpet, and even inside the fridge. There was plenty of space to move around and also to store clothes whether hanging in the closet or in drawers. A special nod to their housekeeping's attention to detail... there were two types of hangers (ones with clips and ones without) and both were neatly separated. Lobby / Bar: The lobby area has a large bar open well into the night - I believe around 2am. There's plenty of seating, mostly in the form of couches and oversized arm chairs. The adjoining restaurant and bar provide another space to grab a drink or food, and can be quieter than the lobby space. Pool / Outdoor Bar: Yup. Have to call out yet another bar, this one outdoors on I believe the 5th floor. Didn't get the chance to try, but hey! They have an outdoor upper level bar. What's not to like. Pool towels available near the pool. Fitness Center: Quite possibly one of the best hotel gyms I've ever visited. Large with reasonable space between pieces of equipment. There's a cardio room with treadmills, elliptical, and bikes all looking out to the outdoor pool area. Round the corner and you'll find free-weights, machines, and a stretching area. Towels are available for use as are earbuds if you forgot your own. Staff was all friendly whether concierge, bellhop, or parking attendants. Really an all around great hotel experience. read more

For the second time today housekeeping has knocked (and entered the first time) on my door with the privacy sign up. Housekeeping told me this morning that my room showed vacant. This after ai went out to ask why she would knock on my door if I have the privacy sign up. She said well maybe you checked out. She didn't even have a list to check. When i called the manager )approx 4:30 11/5/22 for hotel on records of who is working) He didn't seem to care and said he would check with housekeeping. That's it! I do not recommend this hotel for business travelers or International travelers that may need or want to sleep. ******** The good: Rooms are good sized and come with coffee makers and fridges. The food in the lobby bar is very tasty as so are the cocktails. There is plenty of space to get together with your travel group. There is a variety of restaurants within walking distance. The not so good: They have switched to full size multi use toiletries. Which I don't like. The sheets feel like cardboard. And the bed is not comfortable. My coworkers room didn't have hot water for over an hour and they told her to keep trying. read more

Without a doubt one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've ever had at a Sheraton. My family and I usually rank Sheraton as one of our top hotel choices whenever we travel, and as SPG Platinum members, it's usually well worth the price point for service and perks of the lounge. Not so this time. The two stars are for the prompt valet staff, helpful downstair attendants, and kind servers in the SPG Lounge; pretty much everything else, especially Guest Services, was dismal. The rooms here are on the small side, although the beds and armchairs are pretty comfortable. The bathrooms come with shower curtains and no shelves to put toiletries, not to mention an outdated thermostat with the little knobs (but still worked pretty well!) instead of the usual digital ones. Parking is $20 for self and $30 for valet per night. The first night, my family and I walked in to check in ourselves and our vehicle, and we let the front desk know that we would only need parking for one night. The gentleman reassured us that was fine, and we went upstairs to our room. The room had few amenities and not enough towels, so we called Guest Services to request towels, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. We waited for half an hour with no luck, so I called again and the attendant on the line reassured me that they would send someone right up. Another half hour later, still no luck. I call again and mention that this was the third time I'd called and it had been over an hour since I requested the materials. Finally ten minutes later, an attendant knocked at the door and brought us the requested amenities. The next day, my family and I set out around noon. Before leaving the room, I called Guest Services to request that housekeeping clean our room. When we came back to the room around 10pm that night, it was evident that housekeeping had not even stopped by, as the beds were unmade, towels were still on the floor, and none of the amenities were restocked. Since it was so late, there didn't seem to be a point in having our room cleaned, so we called Guest Services again for some towels, water, and slippers. It was an hour of waiting before we called again, and the lady on the other end of the line essentially said we "hadn't been clear in our requests." This, coupled with the lack of communication and dismal service, was incredibly infuriating. We extended our stay by one night, which we did directly through the SPG website as none of the downstairs staff seemed to be able to help (which confused me because at other Sheraton properties I've stayed at, there has never been an issue with extending a stay via the front desk). During our check out, we were told that everything was taken care of and there were no extra charges. I was confused by this, as we had requested parking for the one evening and I thought that was an additional charge, so I checked with the front desk again and inquired about any parking charges. It turns out that the front desk was only looking at our extended evening of stay that had no parking charges on it, but when they pulled up our previous nights' stay, there was a charge for two nights' parking instead of one. This mixup wasn't too big of a deal, and the manager and front desk staff were kind enough to reverse the charges in a relatively painless process. We left the hotel with a slightly better impression than the one Guest Services had left us with previously. The SPG lounge here is pretty small and is a converted bedroom that is accessible via card swiping. The breakfast provided consisted of eggs, bacon, oatmeal, various boxed cereals, milk, juice, yogurt, and fresh fruit. The food varieties were not as fresh or well-made as some other locations, but the servers in the lounge were kind and very sweet, and they definitely made the stay more pleasant. As other reviewers have mentioned, this location is very close to the Convention Center and whenever there are events, there are hordes of people coming in and out of the elevators as well as the property. We encountered this on our last day, and it took waiting for two other elevators before we could fit into one that wasn't already packed with people. All in all, a pretty disappointing experience. My family may stay here again for convenience's sake, but I do hope that Guest Services revamps their customer service and communication. read more

Absolutely horrible experience at this Sheraton. In the midst of a major remodel and the rooms are designed for the minimalist personality. Very hard lines, very little warmth, closets don't even allow for hanging a pair of pants length wise. On top of the the stark redesign, lobby construction woke me up at 2:52am, I am on the 12th floor, and after two calls to front desk work stopped until 5:00am when it started back up. With a call to the front desk again I was informed the construction company insisted on starting back up at 5am. Must be on a bonus goal of meeting a specific completion deadline date. Can't say enough...... stay away from this hotel now and in the future. The management could care less about their customers. read more

This is a fine hotel, with average shampoos and soap. What makes it better than average is the staff - they are truly outstanding. The front desk person I worked with at check in was fantastic. And when I went to check out it was very busy, and they had staff roaming to take care of folks and keep wait times short. The housekeeping staff are friendly as well. Skittles, Mike and Ike's, m&ms- this place knows what people want after a long stressful travel and ready to relax into their hotel room. This hotel has Great staff, very friendly. The room was comfortable with a nice firm bed and a variety of pillow types. Our room had a great view of the mountains including Camelback which was nice to wake up to. They cleaned the rooms well, and left free water (Dasani). Really appreciated the desk for working and the wingback chair for relaxing. Was here for a conference, and they had great food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They let me have an Amazon package delivered, which was very appreciated. Hotel also had daily all day construction of which they gave no notice. Very loud and obnoxious. Shower head fell off first day. We stayed at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix when visiting Phoenix for a convention with my family. We had a wonderful experience. Upon checking in, we had two rooms and they were not adjoining. We wanted to be close together and Elina helped us get our rooms arranged to where they were adjoined and we could be next to each other! Check in was a breeze! The hotel is very clean and professional. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and always professional. They offered free wifi (which is always a plus), drink and ice machines on every floor a gift shop downstairs, a bar and restaurant in the hotel. They also have a parking garage and valet parking. Parking was a little steep at $25 a day for garage parking and $30 a day for valet. Our rooms were very nice and very clean upon arrival. The beds were very comfy and the pillows were also comfy. It wasn't like sleeping on a concrete bed like you experience at some hotels. The bathroom was very clean and the shower pressure was perfect. Our AC unit also kept our room very cool which we loved walking into after walking all day in the 106 degree weather! The cleaning service was great. They were very kind when we passed by and they were always thorough in cleaning and made the rooms like extra nice when we returned. Checking out was super easy. We packed up and got our car and left the room keys in the room. Overall our stay was awesome and the hotel rooms were cozy and comfy! read more

Let's put it this way, for the price you pay, you would expect better everything. This would be my second time staying at this Sheraton. Each time I stay, I stay for a week. I've also tried the Aloft hotels both in Scottsdale and the Phoenix airport, and honestly, I would rather stay at the Phoenix airport Aloft. The people are friendlier there, and though the rooms aren't as large, you are also not paying for every single thing (i.e. parking, packages being sent to you to the hotel address, etc.) The thing that prompted me to write this not so positive review was that I was given a room with a metal object lodged in the bathroom outlet. I've been taught from a young age to never touch a metal object that is stuck in an electrical plug and to never put a metal object in the plug in the first place. In my case, it seemed like a hair tool prong got stuck and somehow, when the room was getting cleaned and prepared for the next guest, housekeeping thought it was perfectly normal to have a metal object stuck in the electrical outlet and didn't think to have maintenance come check it out before the next guest was assigned the room. I would think that guest safety and peace of mind would be important to this hotel. Apparently not, because the Guest Services individual I spoke to on the phone didn't seem the least bit alarmed by my discovery. I am writing this review and waiting for the maintenance/facilities person who is taking far longer than they should. At the time of writing this sentence, I've been waiting 25 minutes. During my prior stay, something as basic as a phone, was not connected. The 2 phones in my room both didn't work and so facilities had to be called. You would think that paying $190/night or more would mean that you have a half decent room that is clean with the super basic things working. Apparently not that this hotel. They know they will always have business due to their location so they think it's ok to slack off with their room quality. read more

Spent six nights here last month. Great hotel in downtown Phoenix. Huge gym, too many machines to count. Decent sized outdoor pool with a nearby pool bar. The business center had multiple computers and printers to utilize if needed. Hotel staff was courteous and responsive to any inquiry. No complaints. . read more

Love this hotel! Nice locations, with lots of food options nearby. The staff is always very accommodating. They had a candy station set up in the lobby. Apparently they do this when more than 700 people check-in that day. Talk about a lot of people! The rooms themselves are very nice. The pillows, my gosh, those pillows! Literally like laying on a cloud, or what I imagine a cloud would feel like. Everything else is what you would imagine a hotel room to have. A nice bonus is the refrigerator in the room. We stayed at the Grand on Thursday Feb 28th 2019 the love of my life lives in NYC and I'm here in Az taking care of my elderly father. Anyway we booked a room for 3days 2 nights. I got there first. At abt 530pm on a Thursday evening, no where to park?' COULDNT find the valet so I was motioned to go park underground in the lot, $25 a day (we) had to pay?! Although we were paying hotel guests!? I mean seriously $25 for parking? WTH Phx Sheraton Grand? That's EXTRA it's gross! I mean talk abt nickel and dime me? Again WTH PHX Sheraton? Then I had to drag my luggage thru the basement past the bell men and no-one was there? Then went to front desk to check in, gave my name cause I got there first. Went up to the room, so tiny and FILTHY! There was black hair on the bathroom floor and when I went to put stuff in Armoire again black gross netty hair! The place had a film of dust and the sheet covering for the duvet cover, that's what they use!, as a sheet was dirty the bed was dirty everything was gross!, so I called the front desk and asked if they had a different room a bigger room a better room they said no! I went on line to see if anything was available and of course there were! (Liars). So I decide to rest, after all that luggage walking etc! I was fully clothed bc I didn't want crap on me! My boyfriends plane is early he Uber to hotel but BUT BEFORE I called downstairs to tell them, men and front desk that so in so FULL NAME ETC! My boyfriend calls and they won't even let him to the front desk? Idk if it's bc he's a light brown color in AZ w/all the Racists, so I call dudes and scream! My man is so upset! That humiliating! It only gets worse our stay was shitty the hotel was horrible the doors underneath have like an inch and a half with no rubber down there so you hear every door opening you hear everybody's comings and going's it's disgusting people were rude people were obnoxious they didn't do anything to help you they nickel and dime you on every little single thing will never stay there ever again it was a horrible experience I'm gonna give it even lower stars I'm gonna give it one just because I think I have to but don't go there don't waste your money! read more

WoW let me start by saying I wish I could this this place more then 5 stars. The staff here was so friendly. The rooms were well maintained. The location is perfect. Walking distance to almost everything. The gym was pretty big I was really impressed and its open w4 hrs. The pool was clean. I can just go on , but I won't ramble. I would say tho for my first visit to Phoenix AZ I picked the right place to stay. So like i always say dont just tAke my word for it come see it for your self read more

Enjoyed the stay with my wife. Service was great on the get go. No problem when asked for a room upgrade even on a busy week. Big convention and tons of conferences going on = loong elevator wait! Good thing we didn't bring the kids. They would love the green policy though. $5 voucher for a messy room. (If u choose to forgo rm cleaning ) Enjoyed the stay. I heard there is a nice gym some where lol. Chk out the restaurant. I enjoyed the happy hour. Mall across the street. I wanted to try the pedicab ride but I spent most of my time golfing since there were tons of courses nearby. What's up with the Wi-Fi fees? Still an enjoyable stay. read more

It's a decent hotel, nothing special. Under construction (although that wasn't mentioned until after the booking), so that probably doesn't help the rating. Breeze Bar and pool is the highlight. Holley and Jeff as bartenders? Not so much. read more
