Really lovely room. They put me on the top, 19th floor. Super quiet. Market downstairs is nice. Mornings you can get a home made omelette and jalapenos are one of the many toppings $22 Looking forward to come back to barrel and board so that I could hear the live music. It's a beautiful design in there, kind of industrial and neat brewery fixtures. Spacious and opens up to the outside. This hotel is super convenient. Within 2 blocks, you can visit Blanco for margaritas, Arrogant Butcher for giant shrimp cocktail, Suns and Diamondbacks game is right there. Also within couple blocks is Cartel coffee. Hyatt does have coffee barista at the market but I don't know what kind. Starbucks around the corner too as well as Phx convention center and Phx symphony. Hyatt has a nice pool w lots of chairs and space to chill. There was a neat festival going on when I was there. Outside the side door by their market. read more

I recently attended a Cyber Security conference at this hotel, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The event setup and service were wonderful, with a large private room and well-organized amenities. Lunch, snacks, and happy hour were provided throughout the day. We especially liked the Cabernet wine. They had a good selection of local craft beers and non-alcoholic options. The hotel's downtown location is another major plus, with a plenty of excellent restaurants and bars within walking distance. Be sure to check out the Barrel and Bushel lobby lounge. They have a nice selection of local brews and a patio that's perfect for sipping your favorite cocktail. This is a great option for your Phoenix work events and weekend getaways. read more

We recently enjoyed an afternoon Diamondbacks baseball game with friends for a bday celebration. Drinking all afternoon and no kids? Staycation opportunity! We checked in early and walked just 10 minutes to Chase Field and local bars. Even though the Cubs won we celebrated at a rooftop bar till late and headed back to the hotel. After friends headed home, we decided to take advantage of being able to drink downtown and not having to drive. After grabbing a quick drink at the hotel bar restaurant, Barrel and Bushel (previous post) we hopped on Lime scooters and had a blast riding all over town and to a speakeasy (next post). In the morning, we rode our trusty scooters two blocks away to Carcara for a lovely patio breakfast. This is not a fancy staycation. It's actually a hotel that hosts many conferences and groups attending the convention center across the street. The rooms are fine, and views are good, but overall, it's so convenient for being central to everything in downtown Phoenix: Dbacks, Suns, convention center, Herberger Theater, or just bar hopping. The hotel also has a nice market shop for breakfast and grab and go as well as a cute souvenir and sundry shop. The one thing we did not get to do at the Hyatt is entitled a nice dinner at the very top is the well-known revolving restaurant, Compass. So I guess we need to return for that! read more

Was here for one night for a conference, so didn't get to spend a ton of time exploring. The hotel was clean, easy to check in/out, great restaurants on site, plus a small convenience store for grab and go items. The gift shop in the hotel was kind of kitschy, not a great selection. Highly recommend the restaurant on the top floor, it's revolving and has a fantastic menu, but you do pay for it. The restaurant on the main floor is great for lunch and much more affordable. The room had a strange layout that made it awkward to relax in. TV was on the side wall and not facing either the bed or the seating area. The room was decently large though. The bathroom was clean, but nothing special. Nice view out the windows, for Phoenix that is. Great walking distance for everything downtown. Easy to get to conferences and other hotels/restaurants. Phoenix's downtown is a bit lacking in general though, ran into a lot of homeless individuals just a block away from the hotel. read more

I have stayed here a few times. We love the Compass Room and this always provides a little staycation for us. Every other experience here has been great no complaints, however this last visit was odd. We had an odd interaction with the valet attendant so I wanted to provide feedback to management and I approached a woman and she identified herself as a manager, later to find out her name was Phoebe, while I was speaking Phoebe was holding laughter back. She was laughing at me while I was talking. I was so appalled I had to walk away so I didn't embarrass myself by getting loud bc it was just so inappropriate and RUDE. Now let's get to the room, it appeared clean but then we realized that it wasn't, like maybe it wasn't flipped over completely by the housekeeper, the bed appeared cleaned and made but when we climbed in after our dinner and drinks there was sand in it. We had to sleep on the towels from the bathroom because it was too late to ask them for a new room. The next morning I called for clean extra towels and they never arrived. The blow dryer offered by the hotel is a Whisper 1200, I mean Hyatt come on every other hotel brand has upgraded to a normal size dryer.... Now let's talk about how the outlet in the bathroom didn't even work so we couldn't get ready for our brunch at the hotel because the dryer only worked by the lamp and there was no mirror except in the bathroom. We mentioned to the clerk at the front desk later what happened and they didn't seem to mind that we're inconvenienced. A manager appeared to be standing near the young check out clerk but she pretended to look busy so as not to have to engage, not sure. The whole stay was odd. Except the B&B bartender who was really nice and they had a great guitar player in the outdoor bar. We enjoyed that part. Oh and the Compass Room meal was 10/10! 5 Stars! We loved it! read more

Great stay at the Regency. We were there for a convention and you couldn't beat the proximity. The real shining star was the Security team, I had left something in my safe and they were very accommodating getting it back to me. They were very friendly and understanding. We usually stay at the four seasons but this was an amazing substitute for being close to the convention center. We will stay here again. Very happy with the Regency. read more

I stayed here for 6 days for a work conference and had mainly good experiences. I was upgraded to a larger corner room and loved it! First, here are the things I didn't like: No full length mirror Market prices were high--almost $6 for a bottle of water (The bottles in the room were only for Elite members), while they were provided for free to my colleagues who were staying at the Sheraton around the corner. So every day they brought me bottles of water! Not a good look for Hyatt. Don't get me started on the prices in the gift shop! No souvenirs for my daughter/had to wait til I got back to the airport. (I did notice that the Sheraton and Renaissance all had the same merch, all with the same high prices.) All of that said, here are the positives: Love the location. Very convenient, in walking distance to the convention center and many restaurants. Corner room---spacious & had everything I needed Lighting was good Ice machine room had a microwave! Nice pool even though I didn't have a chance to use it The market is 24 hours! Great food options and snacks. First time here for a stay and play volleyball tournament. So convenient as the Phoenix convention center is literally across the street and the entrance is right there too. The front desk was able to connect my Hyatt membership to my travel reservation. So it populated to my Hyatt app and I was able to use my digital key. Valet or self park is a difference of $10 I heard. Looks like they charged me $44 for valet park. There's a valet window outside that you give the ticket too. If u forget something in the car, the attendants are nice enough to grab it for you but ask if you're ok with that first vs driving the vehicle around. Self park is in a separate parking garage across the street. You need a room key to go up the elevator. Pool located on 3rd floor. I think fitness center too. Gym is 24hrs.pool I think is 6a to 10p. There's a market place in the lobby and a restaurant/bar with good food and even had live music during a certain time. I think the market place is 24hrs but they also sell hot foods until 10p I think or 1030p then they close the restaurant with glass panel doors but I believe u can still go in to get snacks. There's also a fountain drink machine there that I would fill up my water bottle. We had a 2 queen room. Keurig coffee machine, mini fridge( I couldn't figure out how to get it cooler). Ice machine and microwave located near the elevators. I heard there's a refillable water station in the lobby somewhere. There's not much storage in the room itself. They do have the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash attached to bathroom wall. Also bar soap and lotion. Ironing board, hair dry, full body mirror (but not the magnifying one). Lots of restaurants within walking distance including a Starbucks across the street. read more

Stayed: April 2025 We had a pleasant stay at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix during a busy weekend downtown. The location is excellent--right in the heart of the city and only about 15 minutes from the airport with lots of transportation options nearby. Super convenient for anyone visiting downtown Phoenix. The Hotel: The hotel was very clean and well-kept. It was busy due to a college volleyball tournament, but the staff did a great job managing foot traffic and elevator flow--even rerouting guests through service elevators when a few main ones went down. We weren't able to check in early, but the staff offered an alternative option that we appreciated--even if we didn't end up using it. We had no issues adding another name to the reservation for key pickup, which made things easy for our group. Tiny hiccup: our keys deactivated a day early for some reason, but the front desk resolved it quickly. Great value using Hyatt points--definitely felt like we got our money's worth. Overall: Clean rooms, responsive staff, and a fantastic location make this a solid choice for a downtown Phoenix stay--especially if you're attending an event nearby. read more

I've stayed at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Phoenix a few times now, and it never disappoints! This is hands-down one of the best affordable hotels I've experienced and easily one of my favorites in the country. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, making every stay enjoyable. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The gym is fantastic, and the pool area is a great spot to relax. I also love the bar and restaurant on-site--both are inviting and perfect for grabbing drinks or a bite to eat without needing to leave the hotel. The location is unbeatable! It's just a short 10-minute walk to the Footprint Center and Chase Field, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Whether it's for a game, event, or just exploring downtown Phoenix, this place is perfectly situated. Whenever I'm in downtown Phoenix, the Hyatt Regency is my go-to choice. The events and banquet staff here are phenomenal and really go out of their way to accommodate your needs. I stayed the night of the conference here and I truly enjoyed my stay. I chose this hotel because it was listed as a pickup spot for a tour I was taking to the Grand Canyon/ Sedona. I didn't realize the price was per night, because it showed the number of days I was staying. It was clearly confusing. Once I booked, I realized the number multiplied!! Plus fees!! There was no option for a refund. I think their online system is misleading. When I arrived, checking in was easy and friendly. The room was okay. The Kleenex box cover was dusty. I'm not sure how the staff overlooked that. My plan was to sleep there and be out and about. I never would've chosen this rate based on that. This isn't an all inclusive resort. Hyatt Regency just recently, within the last couple of years, has undergone a renovation. replacing the front desk with a market place cafe and the seating area changed to the front desk. The old restaurant previously called Networks went through a MASSIVE renovation... It's turned into a gastro-pub! great spot for beers and great food. The Guest rooms are amazingly clean and the decor fits that description. Directly across the street from the convention center, this is a perfect hotel to stay at if you're attending an event there... The Hyatt Regency in downtown Phoenix--an imposing, modern structure at the cusp of the city's better days and grittier corners. It's a hotel that promises the kind of polish and professionalism you'd expect from the Regency name. For the most part, it delivers. Check-in was seamless, handled by staff who could teach a masterclass in hospitality. Minutes later, we found ourselves on the 17th floor, gazing out at a surprisingly impressive city view. The room itself was thoughtfully designed--a clever layout with a separate TV space, a roomy closet, and enough amenities to make a traveler feel a touch pampered. Every encounter with the staff reinforced that Hyatt Regency standard. Friendly faces at the valet, polished professionals at the front desk--it was textbook excellence. It's the kind of consistency that makes you return to a brand again and again. But then, the bed. Oh, the bed. Let me preface this by saying I'm not one to nitpick mattresses. But when you're staying at a hotel of this caliber, you expect a sanctuary. Instead, I found a sagging relic that had long since surrendered to time and gravity. The center was broken down, leaving me battling discomfort until I finally conceded defeat and retreated to the couch--a solid, if uninspiring, alternative. A Hyatt Regency should deliver rest as much as it delivers service. And while nearly everything about this stay flirted with perfection, the bed was a glaring flaw, a missed note in an otherwise well-played symphony. For that, one star falls. Fix the beds, and this place could easily be a five-star contender. Until then, I'll be back--but only after confirming the mattresses have seen an upgrade. read more

I was in Phoenix for a work conference and stayed here for 3 nights. The location was super convenient for me since the convention center was right across the street. I was able to go back to my hotel room during look breaks. During my stay, I was able to take advantage of my Hyatt Globalist status. When I checked in I was upgraded which I had no hopes of them doing considering the hotel was probably booked for the conference. Additionally, Globalist members get to spend up to $30 for breakfast at the B&B market on the first floor. The room was spacious and clean. The bed had really comfortable sheets and pillows. I had a nice balcony which I sadly didn't use because it was raining the entire weekend. The bathroom, however, could use some work in terms of cleanliness. Overall, I had a relaxing stay and would come back based on the location alone. read more

Lobby, staff, food and drinks were amazing...the room was okay. The bed was nice and the room was appointed well, but it was dusty and I could tell It hasn't been deep cleaned. The sink didn't drain in the bathroom area was really dusty and all the toiletry bottles are empty. Had to call maintenance and ask for help with the sink and additional toiletries. While I did not stay at the Hyatt as a customer, I did book one of their meeting pods under the company LiquidSpace. Upon having trouble with the pod the Hyatt staff were very accommodating and helpful and even let me use their conference room as the pod was not allowing us access even after I had paid. I would give this hotel no stars. I show up at the hotel with a reservation number and the girl at the front desk couldn't find my reservation and was very rude. She wasn't willing to help me figure out what happened. She told me since I didn't book directly with them that it wasn't her problem even though their name and brand was stamped all over my paperwork. She shouldn't be in the hospitality business... Too many hotels in the area that are much better. . I'd rather pay more money than ever stay at this hotel due to the absolutely terrible service. read more

By the time it said i had early check in, i was already on my way. Refrigerator was dirty and eventually discovered not plugged in... also wound up leaking water. Windows also weren't clean. Front desk didn't care, customer service through the survey didn't care and now just discovered a mystery charge on my credit card. I'm very unimpressed with hyatt as a brand as my previous stay at royal palms also wasnt great. I also want given late check out... I'm at all loss at what being a member and a world of hyatt credit card holder really does for me as it doesn't seem to be doing anything... read more

The trash was also not emptied for the 2 days I was there. Restaurant doesn't have room service. Just the market that offers premade grab and go items with a 10.00 delivery fee. I will start with if you do not like elevators this is not your place. Their elevators are like riding roller coasters especially when going down. Hotel is your standard Hyatt hotel type. I noticed the gap under my door being larger than normal so that was a bit strange to me. You do have to call to have your thermostat adjusted. I thought that was weird but thankfully my room temp was perfect for me. The hotel was busy as there was lot of activities going on the weekend I was there. The staff was great but I'm sure they are used to it. The gift shop has almost everything you need. They ran out of wine openers. One guest was looking to purchase one. The omelette bar was worth the $15. You get your omelette of choice plus you can get bacon, sausage and hash browns with it. Hotel is within walking distance of chase stadium. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance as well. It's in the perfect location depending on your plans. read more

A nice downtown Phoenix hotel with plenty of on site conveniences and the friendliest staff. This location is either new or newly remodeled because it had the fresh, clean feel of a new hotel. Off of the lobby they have a gift shop, a small market, and a restaurant. The restaurant doesn't have a huge menu, but we really enjoyed our dinner there. They also were able to accommodate our party of six when every other restaurant in the area had at least an hour wait. The market has a coffee bar offering Starbucks, bottled beverages, yogurts, parfaits, beer, wine, sandwiches, desserts, pastries, candy, and snacks. On Sunday they had a made to order omelet station for $14 per omelet. Within walking distance are the baseball field and basketball arena. Quite a few restaurants are within walking distance as well. Every employee we encountered during our stay was very friendly. From the valets to housekeeping employees to the employees in the market, and the bartender at the restaurant. The older gentleman with housekeeping arrived with our requested pack and play within minutes and was just so kind. The next day he saw my daughter playing near the lobby and returned with a stuffed animal for her. She loved it. Parking can be self parking across the street for $26 per day or valet for $38 a day. We opted for valet. The valets were always quick to take and return our rental car when we were coming and going. The King Suite was perfect for a family. The bed was at the back of the room with a divider between the bed area and a sitting area. The bathroom was at the front of the room along with an area to sit for hair or makeup. There was a big area to rest luggage near the coffee maker and mini refrigerator. The bathroom was on the small side, but the great layout of the room made up for this. Everything was clean. We requested a pack and play for my toddler and it looked brand new. Housekeeping delivered it with clean sheets, a blanket, and travel toiletries for a child. We didn't hear noise from surrounding rooms or the street below. If I find myself in need of a hotel in this area again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. read more

I am from out of town, and this hotel exceeded my expectations. I wanted to stay at a modern, clean hotel close to the convention center, with great amenities and a restaurant on the ground. This place had it all. The rooms were big and spacious and easy to navigate around. The hotel was clean and upkeep, making me enjoy my stay even more. Although you are away from home, they would ensure you feel comfortable. I forgot my toothpaste at home and called the concierge, and they sent me one. Thank you for making me feel comfortable. BEWARE of theft from housekeeping and DISHONEST practices from hotel management. I really had to see it and experience it to believe. My coworker left her purse in her room around 12pm with $140 in cash tucked inside. She left her purse in her room on a chair for 6 hours thinking it was safe because housekeeping had already come into her room around 11am previously that morning. She tucked the cash inside her purse in the same pocket she always does. When she returned 6 hours later around 6pm, she went to grab her cash for dinner that evening and where she left all of her cash was completely GONE! Her, myself, and another coworker (neither of us were staying with her) flipped her room upside down looking for it. Her purse was turned completely inside out by three people. Meanwhile she is feeling like she is going insane because she specifically tucked her cash away in her purse pocket immediately before she left hours before. The other red flag that was noticed was that when she opened her drawer she noticed her drawer had been completely gone through because her belongings were not left the same way they were before. We then proceeded to approach hotel management to report the incident. The manager seemed sympathetic and helpful, which was reassuring initially. Security came and asked specifically how much money was stolen and what type of bills they were. They reassured us that they would investigate because they could see who keyed in and out of the rooms and at what time. We were confident that they would figure out who took it while we were gone a few hours for dinner. While at dinner, my friend received a message from management stating to come to the front desk when she returned. When she came to the front desk around 8pm, they told her that no one keyed into her room between the 6 hours she was gone. She was dumbfounded to say the least and had no words or explanation for how this could have happened. When she returned to her room afterwards, she went to put her belongings away and when she looked inside her purse, there was $140 REPLACED INSIDE. Mind you, this purse was turned upside down from three people total and when she returned to her room after dinner between 6-8pm it was "magically" replaced inside. Here's the kicker... the money that she found inside was folded in half... which she NEVER does because she typically keeps her cash folded in threes so she can fit it behind her phone. To top it off, the cash was placed in a part of the purse that she NEVER keeps her cash nor was the place she originally placed it. It's one thing to be violated by a housekeeper and have your things riffled through and your cash stolen... but my God it is a whole other level to not only be gaslighted by hotel management and then be violated a second time and have somebody come into your room to replace the cash... Hyatt Regency Management, it was never about the cash. It was about being violated by a housekeeper when you are paying good money to stay there and feel safe. To see Hyatt Regency stoop to that level to gaslight a guest and violate them a second time when you could have just been honest about the situation. If your thought was "Well, she got her cash back at least" or "No one would believe her", understand that this whole situation unfolded in front of the eyes of multiple individuals. She is not crazy and shame on you for doing that to her. It was never about the money and if you think how you handled this was moral and the correct way, then you need to be removed from your position and learn a little something regarding ethics because you clearly have none. I cannot NOT recommend this place enough. read more

This is the worst hotel experience. It is full of loud high schoolers and the room is literally unstoppable. Can't use amenities or anything. The high schoolers are asking me to get them towels. Come on now. This was $300 a night! We spoke to a manager and she did not help at all. She basically told us that's how it is and to deal with it. We will never be back. There was no kindness in this exchange. It would have been nice to at least received a sincere apology since we just drove all day and were exhausted and just wanting to relax. read more

What lovely customer service and attentiveness from reception! I came here to leave my luggage for a few hours while I had a layover in Phoenix. I wanted to leave a review for Nykeira and the other front desk reception employees. Nykeira was so kind to take my bags for me and not only that she was really kind to offer me suggestions of where to go in the area and gave me a water. And I wasn't even staying here! This told me right off the bat the customer service here is unmatched. It made me want to come back and stay here one day! When I returned, a kind gentleman helped me get my bags and assisted me in looking up directions to get to JSX. He was really kind to do that for me. I wasn't able to stay at the hotel as an unexpected conflict occurred which prompted cancelling my trip. BUT this review is for the customer service I received with navigating changing my plans. After a game of phone tag/transfers, I was able to speak to one of the managers (Jake) who was empathetic to my trip cancellation, and was able to assist with a negotiation for an exception for a future visit. Despite some phone connection issues on both ends, Jake was friendly and did not try to rush the call or put me on another hold. Really appreciated the above and beyond customer support, especially after hours, and looking forward to when I can visit/stay here as this was great first impression. read more

Stayed five nights when I was in town for a medical conference. The lobby is nice but the rooms (at least mine) was subpar. The smell on walking into the room was something akin to a sink full of dirty dishes. Greasy, stale. The room had a balcony, which I initially thought was going to be amazing, HOWEVER, the brick wall they used for a rail was so high that I could not sit down and actually see over it. Then trying to lock the sliding door was a huge problem. The latch was cheaply built and only about a half inch long. And I had a terrible time getting it to latch. If someone really wanted to come in through the balcony door, they certainly could. I tried to get a different room but they were booked full. On my final day, I woke up and grabbed my suitcase so I could pack, saw something move, and realized it was a German cockroach. Just chilling on my suitcase. I killed it with a shoe. Called the front desk and they had the housekeeping manager call me. He asked me if I would like to stay another night "on the house." Uh, no. I want out of here as soon as possible. He offered a $100 credit on my bill. I just feel like that $100 is not even close to compensating me for my troubles. I'm afraid that all of my belongings that I traveled with are tainted, so I have to go home and remediate everything. For $300/night, I expected better. If I wanted to worry about taking pests home with me, I would have stayed at a cheap motel. I chose to stay at a Hyatt because of their reputation. So disappointing. I'm unsure why this location gets such poor ratings because we have stayed here several times and it has been amazing each time. The most recent we walked into our room with a handwritten note from staff, wine, and some drinks in the fridge. They go above and beyond every time here and the rooms are nice and comfortable! read more

Love this place, stay there during comicon and they never disappoint. Service is great and the Valet is excellent.

Booked for 2 nights but only stayed for a night because of multiple major problems with this hotel. First the heating control in the room is broken. Engineering has to adjust the temperature on their end and even then they couldn't get it right. We requested multiple times and gave up. We slept with extra blankets and our coats to keep warm! Secondly, the water was shutoff in the middle of the night (we noticed around 2am in the morning) without notice due to an emergency they didn't explain. They gave us multiple ETAs and none were met. By 9 am we finally got hot water but it was dirty water. Engineering told us to run the water to flush out the system. We did that for an hour and gave up. They compensated us free breakfast and refunded our overnight stay minus the parking fee. read more

Checked in on Monday afternoon, slightly before check in time but they gave me a room, no questions asked. Stayed here 3 nights for a conference that was across the street. Great location if you're here for a conference. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and it's super close to the airport (10 min). The rooms are spacious and has an area for a desk, coffee maker, and refrigerator. There's also a couch with a good sized tv. The tv can pivot out so you can watch tv on the bed. I like how most of the room is not carpeted and feels clean. The bathroom is a pretty good size and the mirror has a clock (although the time is off by 15-20 min). The toiletries are Pharmacopia and smells good! Love how they filter and soften the water so my skin isn't super dry. Great stay and would come back again read more
