Norin, 2. Samsa, 2. Uzbek Plov, 1. Sherdor Roll

I am food lover and i am from Uzbekistan. The food is outstanding and authentic , definitely must visit restaurant. We ordered Uzbek pilaf, tandoori samosa , beef and lamb roll kebabs and norin (traditional uzbek food with handmade noodles and beef).

Me and my family ordered from this place and it was... disgusting the food came in a tin foil covered like, pan it looked bad and unflavored we ordered fries and they looked EXTREMELY DRY AND GROSS then we ordered chicken wings and they were so bad they maybe are maybe 2 inches we got so mad and there were only 3pc count and they were 8.99 EaCh EACH and the other meat that came with it was DRY it was as disgusting as it looked and we also had this red sauce that came with it it was not good it bad. And the grand total came up to $85.00 and the service is awful I argued with them over the phone so I don't recommend coming to this place unless you want to spend ur money that you earned with hard work on expensive dog food and left overs from other customers. 0/10

I give a rating of 4 star only because I love many dishes in this restaurant. Although this dish used to be very tasty before, this time the Kazan kebab had bones and tasted like meat from soup. It was always grilled and had square cubes of tender meat. We were eagerly awaiting the dish in anticipation of that same taste, but we were completely disappointed. I rate the dish as 1, almost $80 for this food is very expensive.

I went in to pick up my order and there was a small white girl and when she saw me she was alarmed because she didn't like my skin color or because I was Latino! there was another white boy very attentive and respectful, I waited 20 minutes after arriving the girl passed and passed I felt uncomfortable! in the end the girl gave me the food not in my hands she placed the bag on the floor and that for me was something disgusting and racist, the boy to see what he did that gave it to me in my hands and apologized! I will not eat there again I will not buy more they should treat everyone the same I went to buy not to steal Entré a recoger mi pedido y había una niña blanca pequeña y cuando me vio se alarmó porque no le gustaba mi color de piel o porque yo era latino! había otro chico blanco muy atento y respetuoso, esperé 20 minutos después de llegar !la chica pasó y pasó me sentí incómoda! al final la chica me dio la comida no en mis manos puso la bolsa en el piso y eso para mi fue algo asqueroso y racista, el chico a ver que hizo que me la dio en mis manos y se disculpo! no volvere a comer ahi no comprare mas deben tratar a todos igual fui a comprar no a robar

Ordered delivery from here since we were craving Uzbek food to celebrate a birthday. Although they raised the prices because of coronavirus, the food was packaged well and was quite tasty. I probably wouldn't order from here again once coronavirus ends and there are other Uzbek options that deliver to my apartment, but this did the job. The bread was a little hard and old so I would skip that. The Greek salad was fresh with feta cheese and basterma. Eggplant salad was a little too vinegary for me. The lamb ribs were very tasty though as well as the beef and Lulya kebabs. We didn't like the liver kebab as it was more fat than liver. The potatoes with mushrooms were too oily.

Samsa has a flaky crust on the outside, chewy crust on the inside, and meat filling inside.

Manti: A Delicious. I've had plenty of Manti made from cheapi meati: gristli and toughi. But this meat is soft, flavorful, and no gristle. The dough is beautifully flavored. An excellent manti. Lagman: A- A "busy" soup. Lots of vegetables and stuff in the soup. In fact, I almost wished there were more soup! There are noodles that were quite long -- I found one noodle almost as tall as my 6 year old daughter. Very nice, very fresh-tasting. Lots of vegetables. A bit of anise, which isn't my favorite flavor. Kharcho: B- Slightly disappointing. I don't think I've ever said this before, but I think this soup needed more salt. But, as a rule, you never add salt to a dish because it's a poor man's way of doing it. When you add salt, you should also be adding flavor along with the salt, otherwise, you just get a salt soup. Furthermore, I wish the meat was slightly more fatty and soft. Overall, the soup was nice and savory, and I DID enjoy it, but my kharcho is an order of magnitude better and is more "lamby". Chuchvara with Sauce: A- Large beef dumpling with a small amount of tomato-based sauce on top (this dish is listed in the "soup" section of the menu, but it's definitely not a soup). The dough has the consistency of dim sum, although this is much bigger than dim sum. Delicious. Easily feeds 2 people for an appetizer; 4 if you're light eaters or have kids. Samsa: A- It comes one per order, but it's large (and hard to cut), making it a large appetizer for one person. The crust has amazing consistency: it's alternately chewy and crispy. The filling is beef, lamb, and onion. The dough had a nice oniony flavor. Non Bread: B+ No relationship whatsoever to Indian "Nan Bread". It's a medium sized disk-shaped bread with a medium-textured crust that would feed 4-6 average people. Flavor and texture is kind of like a nice rye bread. No caraway seeds, but there are nigella seeds sprinkled on top. Google tells me that this is a tandoor bread (i.e. cooked in a clay oven) and is usually eaten with copious amounts of butter. Chicken Tabaka: A The chicken was spatchcocked, soft, and juicy. I would easily use the term "cooked to perfection" for this dish. It's topped with a powerful garlic chutney. The chicken is quite small, about the size of a Cornish hen, so although you're eating the whole chicken, it's not outlandishly big for one person. In fact, if you're a heavy eater, this would be good (I think the dish would feed 2 adults, especially if you had an appetizer to share. Kazan Kabob: B Solidly good, but slightly unmemorable. It was hard figuring out what's a rib and what's lamb without studying the food, which makes the dish somewhat unremarkable. Good flavors, but it wasn't a whole lot of food for $14; not that I'm complaining, but they could've made the dish slightly more substantial by adding some vegetables or more potatoes. Beef Lula: A+ Beef Lula pretty much gets an A+ whenever it's on a menu. If you haven't had it before, I wouldn't go to Sherdor without ordering it. Honestly. There's a legend that there was a powerful king with bad teeth. He held a contest for all the chefs in the country to cook a kebob that he could chew, and the Lula kebob won the contest. It's beyond soft, and savory beyond belief. If you have kids, this is what you should order for them, but tell the waiter to not bother with the raw/under-cooked onions. I don't find that it complements the dish.

Good authentic Uzbeki food but the prices are exorbitantly high. Shish kebabs should not cost $7.00 and up. Go down McDonald Ave or even Brighton Beach and you'll get kebabs for $3-5.00 max. Food delivery is fast and prompt, they take credit cards and the portions are decent sized. I will say that the kebab orders do feel a bit skimpy and the quality of the meat is good. Location has been here for some time and while some people swear by it, I'm used to traditional Uzbeki food not costing an arm and a leg.

Service is slow and waiters attitude is like they don't want to work there; overall poor customer service. They seated us fairly quickly but took orders of people who came after us. There's an automatic 18% service charge which might account for their attitude. Said there was no more plov or manti... but someone who came after us ordered the manti and it came out of the kitchen right in front of us... The food we had was excellent tho. So you'll be coming here for the food, not the service. They have two cute little family areas that they can pull a curtain in front of for privacy, they did so for some women who came with kids, which is nice.

I love Uzbek food and I must say it's the best I had. The food was very flavourful. Plov is delicious the meat was falling off the bone. The shish kebabs and lamb chops were so tender and soft. Their salad varieties is amazing. The Sherdor salad is my favourite, it has such flavours that I would never thought to put together. I love their traditional atmosphere. The separate little cubicles for a private seating arrangement is perfect for a family dinner. Service is amazing Sarah is so sweet, she always smiles and if you go there, more than once, she will know exactly what you want next time around. The manager always there to help if you need anything extra. I strongly recommend this please. This is my go-to place when I'm in Brooklyn.

Decent take out place with delicious tandoori samsa…read more In March 2025 I stopped by Tandir Rokhat to buy some food for home and to taste a few items for review. The place is small, with a primitive interior, cheap utensils, and paper plates. It has a food smell that soaks into clothes if you choose to dine in. IMO, Tandir Rokhat should be considered as a takeout only. The food left mixed impressions with some dishes being excellent but others - far from so. Overall, I may recommend Tandir Rokhat as a takeout place for excellent tandir samsa, manti, baklava, and perhaps lulya kebab. Food ordered Samsa Tandoori - delicious! Tasted great and fresh, plenty of meat and flavor. Belyash - it was pretty good. I wish it was made right on order rather than reheated but it was still good. Manti - excellent! Juicy, thin dough, flavor tasty filling. These are huge! Pumpkin Samsa - pass on this. Under salted and lacking flavor. Lulya Kebab with Potatoes - very good, flavorful, but somewhat over salted. Side of roasted potatoes with caramelized onions was excellent. Chicken Kebab - tasteless :( Pass on this. Kimchi Salad - ok Carrot Salad (morkovcha) - too much vinegar and too little flavor. Eggplant Salad - ok. This just a mix of roasted eggplants with the "carrot salad" + few roasted peppers. Baklava - perfect! Fresh, soft, how it should be! Fatir with Butter - good!

I was brought here by my friend (and her family) as she recommended the place, and she came pretty often. I would say that my friend sometimes has interesting taste, but so far her recommendations have been really solid. Since my friend brought me here, I just took whatever she recommended, as she took command of all ordering. This was great for me, since I opened the menu and was like... wow, I don't even know what is good. So I just sat back and *attempted* to listen to what was going on. We ended up getting hot tea with lemon, beef skirt kebab, lamb kebab, samsa, cheburek with meat, and a few other things I'm not quite sure about. She just ordered, and honestly, I just ate everything she threw at me. The samsas were delicious! They were super flaky, and the meat was well seasoned and super juicy. The samsa were also quite hefty, they fill you up if you eat too many. It reminded me of the homemade ones my friend used to give me. Next up, the cheburek with meat. This was a first for me, and my friend said it was a must get. She was completely right... we ended up getting a 2nd order of this. It was super light, compared to everything else we ordered, as it is only filled with a bit of meat. The dough is fried to perfection, it was a bit crispy, soft, and didn't feel oily. It came with what I assume is a tomato sauce, which pairs well with it. We also got a few of the beef and lamb kebabs, and they were also delicious. The beef tasted better than the lamb, but my friend says that is just depends on the day. So I guess it depends on who is cooking that day? But the beef was super juicy, and it was well seasoned. The lamb was also good, but it just wasn't as yummy as the beef skirt. Overall, I really like everything here and I look forward to my next trip back to NY.

One of them was a chicken salad and the chicken was really good and the dressing was also really nice prepared really well together and we also got a Greek salad which was just a classic standard salad. They also have avocado bruschetta which was also really good. The avocado was nice and ripe. We also got samsa and it was really good. The dough was nice and flaky and crispy and on the inside the meat was really nice and juicy. It was my favorite, but it was definitely still good. For the main, we got a huge mixed grill platter that came with a bunch of different meats like chicken, shish kebab and lamb kebab and it was so good. The meat was really nice and juicy and flavorful and it was cooked really well and all of this also came with a side of chips which were a great pairing and a little bit of a different twist compared to regular french fries. The kompot was great it was nice and sweet and flavorful. The service was nice the waiters were really attentive. The ambiance was just a classic Russian/uzbek restaurant. Waiter was rude and never apologized for the delay and the raw burnt over priced food. Then there was a loud argument because the delivery guy was waiting about 30 minutes after being told that it'll be ready in 5 minutes. No respect for someone's time and job. I hate when people are trying to do their jobs and someone sabotages them. Apparently it's not the 1st time. And hungry people at home are also getting bad service and long wait. Overall, it put stress on everyone. Ruined many people's evening. I regret not leaving earlier and gone somewhere else. I feel like they were giving good service and respect to their countrymen in the restaurant, but not to people of other nationalities and races. Do they deliberately sabotage food and timing because they don't want us to return?! Are they deliberately delaying the delivery orders to get delivery guy to lose his job? It' seems to be happening a lot from the Uzbek halal restaurants. Too much of a coincidence. Will not recommend them to anyone. I wonder if the owner cares about losses in revenues or he's a bigot. Very disappointing.
