Absolutely phenomenal restaurant! From the time I walked through the door I was welcomed as though I was family. The depths of flavor in the food were incredible. The ambiance was in point. Neighborhood gem. Chai was spectacular. Highly recommend!

This really cute Indian/Nepali restaurant opened on 17th Street. I saw the sign for a lunch buffet as I was driving past, and I am for sure a sucker for a $9.99 Indian buffet. This placed opened a month ago and the staff are super friendly and attentive. The place is immaculately clean and they were putting up decorations while we were there. I went for the buffet and my favorites were the Chicken Tikka Masala, Gobi Manchurian and Samosas. The samosas were paired with a tamarind and green chutney that were both well made. The Gobi Manchurian is a somewhat fusion dish. As it was on a buffet heated by steam it was not as crunchy as it should be ideally but the flavor profile was on point. The Chicken Tikka Masala was the perfect blend of heavy cream, chicken, tomatoes and spices. I would for sure order this off the menu during non-buffet hours. Some of the other buffet items were Naan (made well but not the ideal texture in the buffet format), Chicken Kadai, Saffron and plain rice, chickpeas and spinach with paneer. They seem to have a lot of drink specials and great outdoor seating so I imagine this restaurant will be a destination during the summer. It pretty cool in that they have an area of the patio dedicated to dog friendly seating.

I must say, I'm a little disappointed in myself. I thought I had reviewed Curry & Grill 2 several months ago, and now that I've realized that's not the case, I feel responsible for not sufficiently spreading the word about this tasty place. I have an unabashed love for Indian food and when I realized Curry & Grill 2 had opened in the neighborhood and was offering a lunch buffet, I had to check it out. Truthfully, while I had some prior favorites, finding a more local location for Indian is always a win, and I relish the opportunity to try numerous things, which only a buffet can afford...affordably. The buffet lunch here may very well be the best lunch deal in town. For ~$12.99 you can get yourself some pakoras, naan, samosas, a couple of styles of rice, a few veggie curries, and a few meat options, (for example, chicken tikka, lamb curry, and chicken makhni/tikka masala), as well as some kheer for dessert. Honestly, the first time I went the taste of everything was such sheer perfection that I raved to numerous people. So much depth in the spices, and layered flavors. Perhaps the best saag paneer I had ever had. I was told by my friendly server that the buffet was offered on the weekends as well, and that they planned to rotate the dishes regularly. I've since ordered delivery from Curry & Grill 2, and gotten the buffet a few more times as well (it's a great stop post-hike, or a quick lunch on a work from home day). I appreciate the extra vegetarian dishes they offer; the sweet potato masala is a favorite, and they also put paneer in their veggie biryani which is excellent. I will say that the flavors of the lunch buffet have not always lived up to the enthusiasm of my first visit, but I think that may be a function of streamlining for the crowd size, and it's still quite enjoyable all things considered. I was also excited to see recently that they added family-style vegetarian and meat package meals to their carryout/delivery menu, which I can't wait to take advantage of. The restaurant also has a great outdoor space to gather in during nice weather. I will say that this stretch of 17th avenue isn't always known for being kind to businesses. So if you live in the area and love having diverse food options (read: more than just tacos/burritos) swing by Curry & Grill 2 and give them a shot.

First time at this Indian/Nepali restaurant. They have an extensive menu full of amazing dishes. When you order, you are asked what spice level you prefer so dishes can be tailored to all sorts of tastes. Service is friendly but a little slow. I'm sure this is due to the care taken to cook each dish as the sauces are full of flavor. Colorful lights adorn the ceiling to add to the experience. We started with the Gobi Manchurian - cauliflower fried and sautéed in a garlic soy chili sauce. A plentiful portion for 4. I opted for the Madras medium spice with chicken. It had just the right amount of spice and was served with rice. They also have baked-to-order naan which is a must! Bonus, if you are in the area and have a late night craving for Indian/Nepali food, the are open until 2am Wednesday-Sunday, 11:45pm Mondays and Tuesdays.

One of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to! Service was very friendly and fast and the food was to die for. Everything was exceptional. Place would be perfect for a date night or an outing with friends! Would definitely go back if I'm in the area.

Beautiful location with exposed brick. Authentic as it gets. The lunch Thali is like having a buffet at your table, and it was all very good. Great rice, and amazing flavors. Goat Curry which is so hard to find and it was delicious, reminded me of home. Goat is unique, it's fatty and bone in pieces that you eat the meat off of, so only get if you want an adventure. Everything was delicious.

They have such a great variety of dishes to choose from, with plenty of meat and vegetarian options, so there's truly something for everyone. And if you like spice, this is definitely your place. You can choose from different levels of heat for each dish, which I loved. The mango lassi was SO good, and the service was just as wonderful as the food. I was asking about their iced chai after seeing someone else enjoying one, and they were kind enough to bring me a complimentary one to try, such a thoughtful touch. The staff are genuinely kind, attentive, and constantly checking in to make sure you have everything you need without being overbearing. They have two locations, this one is their smaller spot, but it still feels warm, welcoming, and spacious enough to enjoy with a group. Both locations have such a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. I also noticed a constant stream of takeout orders being picked up while we were there, which tells me I'm definitely not the only one who thinks this place is amazing. If you're craving flavorful, fresh Indian food with great service and lots of options, you need to try this place.

Mantra Cafe refers to having "Nepali Indian Fusion Food" and their menu reflects Himalayan items and classic Indian fare. It was a Tuesday evening and there were a handful of customers dining already - mostly couples I noticed. For our party of three, this is what we ordered: * Pani-Puri $8 * Garlic Cilantro Naan $5 * Rogani Lamb $22 * Village Curry Goat $22 * Basmati Rice (complimentary) Everything was very enjoyable with great flavors and we finished it all. I really appreciated that the basmati rice was complimentary. I was definitely curious about their various Mo-Mo items but we were very full with what we got. 4.5 stars

We patiently waited while other tables that came after us ordered. Others had gotten their food already. We followed up, but they essentially blew us off. We waited over an hour for the food to come out. The food overall was good, but instead of getting the saag dish with lamb, we were given the saag paneer. I asked to pay, and they said got that fixed on the bill. They said they included a 5% discount for the wait, but they didn't say that a 20% tip would already be added. Despite having such POOR service, we still tipped $20.00, not knowing tip had already been included. I went to let them know that they could've have said something about the tip being added. They said it wasn't their intention. And I could've reviewed the receipt but they just put the machine to me and asked me to tap without giving the option to review the bill. Thing is, this is a state govt funded work function, and by state policy, we are not allowed to tip over 20% on meals. Either way, food was good, but service was POOR POOR POOR. Again I understand the circumstances, but you could communicate better and not be so dismissive.

This was very good, a bit spicy but I love the variety, I usually have the cauliflower one but great to try something different. They also provide free papad. For my main I got the Rajma and Aloo, This was very tasty, I really like the beans and sauce. Rice for days! I got garlic naan bread as well, I thought this was not as fluffy as other ones that I had, but it was very soft and still tasty. Environment Parking can get filled up pretty quick, not much parking on side, but street parking is available. This inside was nice and cozy. There were booth tables and regular tables. Niceness of the staff They seem to move quite quick. I was able to get what I needed to get. Dollar I thought it was more on the expensive side. Each dish was at least 15$ Yes/No I would return here to try the other items on the menu.
