I loved this place, it has a total rustic type of atmosphere. The owners are the ones that cook and serve. They were really nice, friendly, welcoming people. I ordered a grilled ribeye steak dinner and my buddy had the special of the day. Which was a prime rib sandwich. All the food was very well done, totally had that country homemade taste and was very well portioned. For the atmosphere, like I said rustic and it feels like you walked into someones house for a bite to eat. If you are ever in the area, broaden your horizons and give them a try. read more

Stopped here on our way to Reno out of Vegas. The owners are an absolute delight. My bacon cheeseburger burger was absolutely delicious and my husband enjoyed his steak as well. This is no longer a bakery, but is a full restaurant which has been taken over by Sherry who had the steakhouse down the road in Wabuska. I am giving it three stars because it is OK and there are not a lot of options in Yerington. I hope the business succeeds. My son and I had dinner here recently. Very much home-style cooking. I had the club sandwich. It was nothing special and the processed cheese did not add much to it. I think the best thing I can say is it wasn't terrible and I had enough left over for lunch the next day. My son had steak with vegetables in a sauce - not sure what it was - maybe the Ortega steak? He ate most of it, again the portions were enormous. The side of peas and carrots and mashed potatoes and gravy was bit superfluous with the steak and vegetables and sauce. He said it was OK, nothing awful and took the leftovers home for lunch. The best part of the meal was the soup that we started off with. It was house-made and definitely helps with bumping the star rating up. With two very large meals, an enormous glass of passable chardonnay, the total bill with tip came to under $30. Very reasonable for OK food and friendly attentive service. I do plan to give it another try. read more

Driving on the way to Tahoe and stopped at Sherry's because of the great reviews and high ratings for the restaurant. I was not disappointed. Sherry herself and her husband greeted us. They were just gracious and sweet and were super kind to my 3 year old son. The food was fantastic as well. We had great salads. Homemade Caesar dressing! We had an absolutely fantastic late lunch at Sherry's Stage Stop Restaurant. Sherry and Coy, the owners, were phenomenal hosts who truly care about making quality food from good ingredients. The Ribeye steak with mushrooms and onions was to-die-for and less than $20. The food alone was worth five stars, but Sherry and Coy were even more special. Despite having another 6 hours of driving ahead of us, we lingered over our meal, learning about Sherry and Coy's lives and how they'd ended up at the Stage Coach. I would go hours out of my way to visit them again. This is a do not miss stop. If you are even remotely in the area, make sure to visit Sherry and Coy. Big Tip: Ask them to play a CD of their music. Coy toured with big names in the Country/Americana music scene, like Willie Nelson, for two decades. Coy's voice is a treasure, and I'm shocked that he never made it big. This place is amazing . Stopped in for early dinner with family before going back in the road home to Davis, CA . Sherry was awesome serving us and even chatting a bit after the meal . Coy is a grill master !! He's also awesome at coming to the table and making sure everyone is satisfied with what they ordered we all got burgers and everyone loved them ! The lady who runs it is so rude would not allow me to eat with my service dog and kicked me out had no idea how to ask if my animal is a true service animal would never give my business to these rude people. I discovered this little gem through Google reviews and Yelp research. The location off of the highway and the parking lot make it super easy to navigate there. During my experience I had a half pound filet special that came with a side salad, piece of bruschetta, mashed potatoes, vegetables and a special blue cheese sauce. It was recommended that I try the blue cheese sauce so I went after it. I loved every bite of it. During my solo dining experience I had the opportunity to get to know my waitress better, the chef came out to ask how everything was was tasting and even met Sherry, the owner! Sherry came out knowing my name and introducing herself. This little bit of hospitality is what gaines regular business. The quality of the people and the quality of the food you just can't beat! We went to Sherry's because it was well rated on trip advisor. There were six of us who all ordered Jack & Peppercorn ribeye's. It was obvious that they were trying hard to create a pretty upscale meal. The clam chowder and ceasar salad were good. There was a nice bruschette on the side. The Jack Daniels and peppercorn sauce was good as was the baked potato. On the downside, the vegetables were cooked to mush. A light saute of veggies would not have been hard to do. Most disappointing was the quality of the meat in the ribeyes. We expected a good cut of meat in a town where raising beef is a primary business. What we got was excessively fatty with lots of connective tissue [more like a chuck roast]. Sherry herself was our server and the service was good and efficient. The martini's were good too. Got the T Bone steak special for dinner while passing through town and I'm sorry to say but it was one of the worst meals I've ever had. The steak was extremely fatty and tough and the flavor was super bland, to the point where it was inedible. The mashed potatoes tasted instant and were covered in super salty gravy, which I wasn't told would be on them. The veggies were either from a can or frozen. I ate maybe 3 bites and it didn't even seem worth it to send back because I can't imagine anything else would've been much better. What a Treasure to find! Just had their complete Thanksgiving Dinner for $13.95. Delicious food and large portions. Atmosphere made me feel I was eating in my Grammy's Parlor. Since this is my first year away from family, this meant the world to me. Chef Coy and his wife prepare and serve the food. They are the cutest and most in love couple I have seen in years. Such a joy to chat with them while enjoying our food. We will be returning on New Year's Eve for their 1 pound Lobster Dinner and where they will both entertain us with their Vocal Talents after Dinner. Enough is enough. I have posted 3 reviews on trip advisor for this restaurant. All have been removed. They were and are my personal opinion. I consider a restaurant review to be a public service, good or bad. I have been 3 times and there will not be a 4th. On trip advisor they are described as " the best restaurant in northern nevada" i believe these reviews are paid for. Where as, the owners seem to be wonderfull people. They simply cant cook. Every item on their menu is from a can or a freezer. Their steaks are the lowest grade i have ever seen or tasted. Even their vegetables are out of a can! I dont wish bad feelings on personal level but to the people in the world on a budget, i would feel terrible if they spent their money on a night out and ended up here. Go their at your own peril. McDonald's would be a better choice. At least their you already know what to expect. read more

My husband and I come to Yerington to visit my son and his family several times a year. We have been trying out all the restaurants and we discovered Sherry's Stage Stop last night. We were very pleasantly surprised by the entire experience! It was like stepping back into time with the old west decor and cozy, homey feel. The place was filled with customers, but the food and the service were excellent! The owners, Sherry and Coy, and Gina, the hostess, were super friendly and made us feel right at home.
