Great service!!!! i called one day ahead to make sure they had room for me. when something came up, there was no issues changing my reservation. when i took my car there is a calm no pressure environment where they are super knowledgeable and patient. they took exactly the amount of time they said which was an hour and a half. my car came out awesome. will not take my future cars anywhere else for window tinting i highly recommend this location for all your car window tinting needs 10/10 would recommend!!! read more

I was looking for a new tint shop to replace my old tint. I found them on yelp with 4 star reviews so decided to give it a shot. It says by appt only so I called and they told me I could come in within an hour. Once I showed up I was acknowledged immediately and the man working there took a look at my car and quoted me instantly. I paid a little more than usual in order to get higher quality tint (comes with lifetime warranty). They have a waiting room with a tv and water provided so waiting isn't too bad. The people who own this place are very friendly and I would come back for other future tinting needs. read more

Was on the freeway driving home from work when a rock came flying off a truck and made a very significant crack in my windshield. Looked into a few places and had estimates from other shops in the oceanside area and this one was the most reasonable. JD got back to me very quickly and provided all the necessary information. He got me in the next day after contacting him (today) and my windshield is repaired and looks great! Some of the other places could only get me in next week, and I'm so glad I found JD because the Crack continued to get larger after it happened (quite scary). They were fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. I would give more than 5 stars if I could, it was all around a great experience. It was also nice because they are located very close to various restaurants to occupy the wait! I think I will be coming back on an non emergent basis to have my windows tinted. read more

Nice, gentleman helped me out. However, left the inside of the car a mess. I cleaned my car the day prior to getting the tint and had to re-clean it after I got it home (spray everywhere). The day after I noticed a new deep mark on the bumper must be from keys or a tool. I own a brand new car, I can't stress enough how careful I'm with my car (so I know it wasn't me). All that being said... today, my tint does look great. read more

Wow...So, I called on Saturday to schedule a window tinting appointment for Monday at 9:00 am. The guy on the phone repeated my personal information back to me (name, phone #, etc.) and said that he had made the appointment, and that it would take about two hours to complete. Monday morning I show up at 9:10 am (yes, a little late) and, as I park in front of the Shield X and get out of my car a dog comes running from the business, barking and pouncing at me. The guy at the front desk seemed to find this amusing because he just chuckled and did nothing about it. Then I approached the front desk and informed him that I had an appointment. He looked through some paperwork and told me that there was no record of my appointment. Nevertheless, he said he could still have the tinting job finished. Unfortunately, he told me "The guy (who does the tinting jobs) hasn't shown up yet, so I can't tell you how long it's gonna be. Maybe three hours." While we are having this discussion, the dog is still running around the front of the store and taking turns sniffing and jumping on my girlfriend and I. Finally, I tell him that I'm going to leave and that I have no interest getting my tint done here. He says, "Why, because you don't have the time?" I replied, "No, because (1) I called two days ago and scheduled an appointment that I apparently no longer have; (2) Your dog is very annoying and creates an extremely uncomfortable, unpleasant and unprofessional business atmosphere for customers; (3) You guys operate a tint shop, you're open for business right now, yet there is no one on site to perform window tinting work and; (4) I work long hours for a living and my girlfriend and I just wasted 30 minutes of our day driving down here, for nothing." I hate giving negative reviews but my experience here was way below average. The quality of the film here is good, but the service was poor. My boyfriend bought some coupons on Buy With Me ($30 for $80 value) for tinting at Shield X and called a week in advance to make our appointment for 10 am. We were told the tinting takes 3 hours and would be done at 1 pm. Since it is 40 minutes away, we decided to walk to a Starbucks nearby (10 min walk) and come back when it was done. I made another appointment at 3 pm, thinking we would have more than enough time to spare. Well, we showed up a little late, but called them ahead of time to notify them. They said it was fine. They again said it would be 3 hours so we headed to Starbucks and called around 12:30... Only to find out that they had JUST started. So my car had been sitting there for 2 hours while we walked in the 90 degrees heat outside... But they assured us only 1 more hour. We walked back to the store around 1:45... But still not done. In fact, the entire back half was not done. The manager assured us it would be done soon. He also apologized that the AC was broken. We sat down inside and I was sweating! On one of the hottest days (high if 95), there was no AC or fan... I almost had a heat stroke sitting in there. I ended up having to cancel my afternoon appointment because my car was still not done come 3:30 pm. If you want to come here still, allot 5 hours, not 3. Or make sure to ask if they are going to work on your car right away or else come back later!! Sadly, the quality of the work was not very good either. I was told it was because: (1) one of the tinters quit that morning and (2) they are not "tint specialists." I ended up having to go back AGAIN the next week and have half of my windows redone. This time, they were very careful to make sure that it was done quickly - the quality of the work? Still so-so. I'm glad I have lifetime warranty on the tint, but the hassle of going to this place is probably not worth going back unless need be. read more

This was the worst experience I've had in getting a vehicle tinted. I called them up and spoke with the front desk guy and agreed on a time and price for my car. I drove 20 minutes to get there and drop off the vehicle to get tinted. The guy tried to up sell me on another tint which I didn't want but eventually wrote me up and I gave him the keys. As he is looking at my car outside I mentioned to him, please make sure the paint or interior doesn't have any residue left on it if possible since it's an expensive car and no one wants damage. After he says ok no problem, the owner runs outside and starts screaming in Japanese or Chinese. Eventually the front desk guy calls me back as I'm going next door for coffee, and says "sorry we can't help you owner don't want your car". This was shocking to me because I'm not sure why you would turn away business. So I asked "why" and his response was "owner doesn't have to give you any answer it's his company he turn anyone away he doesn't want to help." So I asked is it the car or me? He said "owner don't like you so he don't help you sorry take care." I did not say one disrespectful thing while I was there and I was friendly with the staff who examined my car. Needless to say I was speechless. This is the most unprofessional shop I've ever been to. Whether it's the fact that I drove 20 minutes there and wasted over an hour of my day, or the disrespect from the owner for rejecting me as a customer, I will never go here again and I will let everyone I know in the area not to. The owner and this company discriminated me and refused to serve me as a customer, that should tell everyone the type of person he is. Lastly, I highly recommend going to Oceanside glass and tint. They got me in last minute, they use top quality 3M tint and have amazing customer service. Don't make the mistake I made by going to this $hithole of a company. read more

If I need another tint job I will definitely come back to this place. Their work is good but it also comes with a warranty. So if any bubbles form then come get it taken care of for free it only takes a few minutes. This is why I like them, I have had other tint jobs that were expensive to install but didn't last long. They have a variety of types of tint and they seem like they genuinely care. So if you love your car I suggest you treat it good with someone you can blame if something goes wrong on your windows. read more
