I only ever come down around this way once a year, and that's for Super Smash Con. Who knew this…read morestrip existed with such a lovely cake decorating workshop? The space has plenty of tables, and delicious decorated cakes on display. I wonder if they were all customers or if the staff did some of them, hmm! I should've asked. At the counter on the back wall, you can get snacks and drinks in addition to the kits for the decorating. I didn't decorate one myself, but I observed the whole process. There are shelves of different tools, like skewers, piping bags and more. There's a frosting for every color and plenty of fondant for extra creativity. We were able to bring in food -- pizza for this occasion, and the staff were kind enough to serve it for us. The staff were super polite, efficient, and willing to answer any questions and assist the decorators! For anyone in the area that wants to do something both crafty and delicious... definitely consider Cake Time! They opened right as the pandemic began I believe... I'm glad they survived!

Leaving this here after no response via email from owner…read more I am extremely upset about the extra $60 in undisclosed 'taxes' required by the camp this year and the manner in which the issue has been handled by this business. We have been multi-child camp attendees since 2022, and I have invoices that have never been as deceptive or as outlandish as this years magic 'uncollected' tax request. I should not have paid it now that I have looked back at past invoices. Is this store under new ownership? Why was I charged $36 in fees and then another $60 in 'taxes'? I was told it was a 10% tax- which would be in line with fairfax's prepared food tax and VA state tax I assume, however, this is a CAMP and there is a labor and camp supply charge that I also assume is taxed at a lower rate than the prepared foods? How does a camp have a 10% tax rate? Also, I spent $600 this year, and already paid a $36 fee. Last year I had $900 in camp cost but paid a MUCH lower total of only $54 in fees, no added taxes. Then in 2024 I paid $726.75 for camp but only $43 in fees, again, no additional taxes. How is this year the lowest camp fee @$600 but I am asked to pay $96 in fees/taxes-- that is outrageous and deceptive. Families are on a budget and throwing out extra hidden fees is not acceptable and it is not inline with previous business practises from this establishment. The Manager or Owner should have sent prior WRITTEN communication with a detailed explanation of what occured, and what the price would be- not a phone call by an employee who is not empowered with the information or ability to handle inquiries. We were overcharged for this camp at the last minute, you snuck in hidden fees calling them 'taxes' and you are applying a food tax on camp services. Extremely dishonest business practices.

Review is specifically for the Salt Bread and cookies…read more I just came back from Asia and had my first Salt Bread over there and oh my god I am hooked. I've been searching all over the DMV and the Salt Bread here has been very, very lackluster. Bit Bakery is the first place where the Salt Bread is actually buttery (to the point my fingers started to glimmer). My favorite variation has to be the Squid ink! Also while I came for the Salt Bread, I certainly stayed for the cookies. The cookies were even better than the Salt Bread!! So soft yet also held together well. I tried the Banana Milk flavor and really enjoyed it. Currently just a pop up, but they're off to a good start. Excited to see Bit Bakery's story unfold! :)

They have a selection of cookies and some free samples. The basic salt bread and ink bread are available when they open (as well as the cookies) but some additional breads become available after 3pm. I walked around the pop-up district and waited until 3p to try the Ube Salt Bread. I had never tried the original Salt Bread before but the Ube Salt Bread lived up to the hype. It was flaky, crusty, salty, and sweet. The Ube Cream had the right amount of sweetness and they were definitely generous with the amount of cream. I would come back and try the cookies and other salt breads next time. They have everything on display so you can look at the different cookies and salt breads. The inside is mostly a silver and grey going for a retro/modern experience. Music is pretty loud but there is ample seating inside.

I…read moreliterally travel over state lines to find TM at local farmers markets or stop by the bakery whenever I can -- that's how good everything is. TM specializes in Asian baked goods with really fun and creative twists. Every item feels thoughtful, unique, and beautifully made. You can tell there's a lot of care and creativity behind the menu. My personal favorites are the black sesame croissant and the mango sticky rice croissant. Both are incredible -- flaky, perfectly balanced, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical bakery. The flavors are bold but still comforting, and the pastries are always fresh. I've also really enjoyed getting to know the owner, Annie. She clearly puts her heart and soul into every product she makes, and that passion really comes through in the quality and creativity of the pastries. If you love creative pastries and Asian-inspired flavors, Toi Moi Bakery is a must. Totally worth the trip every time.

Among the baked goods I sampled were some intriguing flavors with quality, but some items were a bit dry, leading to croissants that were just a bit too flaky to be practical. Preordering for either this retail location or for various farmers markets is an option, and that may yield a more interesting selection. Still, I think it's reasonable to want to just buy some high-quality Asian baked goods, and when I compare this to the experience at the top places in the area, I don't know why I needed to come here.
