The cost of service was about average, as I got another bid to compare. The only thing I wish he would have replaced more of the cast iron pipe as he had access to do so. In a day and age where fairly priced, high quality workmanship is truly hard to find, Kevin is such a gem! I requested a quote to install a bidet toilet and Kevin responded quickly. I had to change the time when the delivery was delayed and texted him for a later date. The communication was good and he confirmed our appointment the morning of the installation as well. Kevin took his time to properly prepare the area, remove the old toilet, and change out the fittings. He carefully installed the new one, tested it for leaks, and had me confirm the positioning before he sealed it with caulking. He cleaned up the area and took away the old one so I wasn't left with anything to do. I was happy that he had lots of experience installing these and I felt he was honest and did not rush through the process. There were other plumbers with more reviews but they would not quote a price for a toilet install even after sending specs, photos, and all relevant info. Instead, they insisted on having someone come out to quote first and then I would be able to decide. I felt this was an unnecessary step with some uncertainty so I took a chance with Shims Plumbing and everything turned out great. read more
