I had been using Randall for my plumbing needs for years. He is honest, hard-working, trustworthy, and knowledgeable. I found him by looking at Yelp reviews and had contacted a few plumbers. He seemed to have the most reasonable pricing out of all the plumbers I had contacted. The reason why I no longer use Randall is that I live in a condo and they changed the rules on who can service units. Otherwise, I would still be using him. He is very busy, as he does his own work. He will not book a job with you and send someone else to do the work. So if you contact him, I suggest you allow him time to get back to you. Randall replaced my old water heater and brought everything up to current code. It was a difficult job. He had to re-locate the gas line, install new copper lines, bolt the drainage tray down to floor and install a drainage pipe through the wall to the outside of the house. Not to mentioned the removal of the old wooden closet where the old water heater was located. I've been struggling to find a plumber I can trust for the last 14 years. Every time I feel like I've overpaid, received sub-par service, or have been sold a service I may or may not have really needed. Randall is a plumber you can trust. He's a great communicator, does quality work, and commits to his original quote, even if the job gets more complicated, goes longer than expected, or requires different parts than anticipated. For this job, he replaced all of the below-floor sewer lines of our main bathroom -- the toilet, shower, and sink lines -- and replaced the old steel lines with ABS plastic. I got quotes from three different plumbers, and Randall's was so much lower than the others that I had to ask him about some of the potential complications that the other plumbers had pointed out. He was confident that his approach would work, and he stuck to his word. Part of the economy of his business is that he's a one-man company, and personally, I'd rather hire a craftsperson (who will be the actual person on the job) than get a quote from the company owner (only to see a different team of workers show up for the job). I had an issue with my sink garbage disposal that wasn't turning on, so naturally I reached out to a bunch of plumbers on Yelp. Out of all 10 plumbers I reached out to, Randall was the only one who told me to hit the reset button on the disposal, which fixed the issue. I'm just like a previous reviewer, I like to do my homework! Five solid stars, per yelp "Wooohoo! As good as it gets!"--perfect description here! I had a few projects around the house that needed attention, nothing that was an emergency. I had a few plumbers come out. One took notes and said he'd call me with a quote, welp that never happened. Second guy also took notes and emailed me a quote. He bid was incomplete and everything as a stand alone: $110 for this. $500 for that, $225 for the other, yipes! With Randall he was already here for a major job so gave me a by the hour on the other simpler work, even down to 1/2 hr increments, I thought that was more than fair. Randal came ON TIME, called once he was on the way from another job, emailed back to confirm, I mean, this guy is a true pro! He's friendly (with out being too familiar). He's respectful of my time and home and (yes) my budget. He bid on the work with a very fair rate. One job in particular was going to be tricky and potentially VERY costly (I knew that from talking to the other two guys). I gave the work to him and he was meticulous with his work, and it went as good as could be expected with none of the potential pitfalls, whew that would have made the job even more complicated! He even quickly put in another shutoff valve so we wouldn't be without water for the day. I finally got all the work done by someone I like, respect and trust, wow, doesn't get much better than that! Randall installed a new shower system for us. This included a new shower valve, rain head, shower wand, diverter from the rain head to the wand, brackets and hose for the wand. He also serviced our two tankless water heaters. He came over to give us a free estimate (when other companies wanted to charge me) and gave a really fair estimate.
