Last week, my wife and I visited the newest grocery store in Carlsbad Village: the Barons Market…read more I had heard great things about the Barons Market from my friends in Temecula. So, my wife and I decided to check it out. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shemirani, the owners of the Baron's Market, were present there, greeting the customers. Mr. Shemirani guided us to some sections of the market we were interested in and made some good suggestions. We found him to be a personable, friendly and helpful gentleman. We ended up purchasing a few items like sweets (baklava and brownies), some fruit, a barbecued chicken, a large cup of freshly made New England clam chowder soup, etc. Everything turned out to be very fresh and tasty. The individually sold Baklavas were excellent. We particularly enjoyed the clam chowder soup. It was better than any chowder I had had in a restaurant. The barbecued chicken was excellent too; so was its price. Anyway, I would highly recommend this market to my friends and neighbors. I personally plan to shop there often.

(I'm not sad as I'll keep going to Prontos next door for fresh sliced deli meats & salads & made-to-order sandwiches) Overall happy it's open, but I am going to have to train myself to come here.
