I shop here weekly and occasionally grab food from the deli and sushi bar, but the hot items have been disappointing lately. I've bought the whole cooked chicken a few times at different times of day and it's consistently been tough to slice and on the dry side. I've also tried the hamburger patties twice and they were dense and overcooked, basically hockey pucks. On the positive side, the sushi is decent and the spicy noodles are good. I'm not sure if there's consistent quality control happening, but it feels like the overall hot food quality has declined over the years. read more

Took a store tour of this location yesterday and I am so impressed. We were able to sample different items and everything was fresh and tasty. Love the ingredient standards the store adheres to. The cheese sample was delicious! The organic rotisserie chicken was super good and not sitting in hot plastic but paper bag instead. Love that they carry Prager Bro's bread. Purchased Tallow and kids loved the fresh scones. Strawberries are picked fresh the day off. Labels show which produce is local and states which farm it came from. We will definitely be back. I love shopping at Jimbo's. It's a great place to come for organic foods. I can always count on Jimbo's for those "hard to find" organic products I can't locate at other local grocery stores. I come here on a regular basis to pick up my favorite veggie burgers (Hilary's Organic World's Best Veggie Burgers). I also appreciate that they offer all the different burger options for this brand. The organic fruits and vegetables are always fresh and colorful and the bakery, hot foods and salad bar sections have delicious "food-to-go" items. If you're on a lunch break or in the middle of running your daily errands, there is a shaded seating area with benches and tables outside of the store that offers a place to relax and enjoy your lunch. I really have to give a special shout-out to the employees at this store. If they see that you are in need of assistance, they are always there to help and answer any questions. Just happened to be in the area and decided to stop by to get ingredients to make dinner. I was making a steak dish, so I went to the butcher counter and waited to be helped . A young man came to help me, and I asked 1.75lb of top sirloin. He was very curt, told me none of the steaks would be near that size, and didn't even offer to cut a steak to get closer to that size so I ended up just buying two. He then threw the packaged steak on the counter when done instead of sliding or handing it to me. Would not have expected this type of behavior at an establishment like this. read more

I had been searching for organic rotisserie chicken in the area for quite some time. It's been hard to try to find one in the supermarkets. My husband and I stopped in one evening and they were out. I tried again another week and called to see if they had any available. They had two left so I told them that I would be on my way. When I arrived, I saw a customer pick up the last one just as I got there. I thought I would ask if they were planning on having more brought out. I asked the person behind the counter who then talked to another person and I told them that I had just called a few mins ago. They apparently held one back for me! I was so thankful since I had been trying to track one down for so long. They are now my go-to for my rotisserie chicken when I'm able to do meal planning for the week. I called the bakery on a Monday to order a vegan birthday cake to pick up the following Saturday. A young man told they just couldn't accommodate me because the bakers wouldn't be in that week. Jimbo's produce is QUALITY! I shop at jumbo for clients mainly, but I see a huge difference in the produce quality here. The mangos, berries, and cherry tomatoes are off the chain. I love Jimbo's wide selection of healthy nut butters to choose from, they carry my favorite one called "philosopher creamy naked". It's really rare to find in stores. read more

This review is for the prepared to go food only. For years we've partaken in their pre-cooked meals. But it has steadily gone down hill. The last time here the wife's Del Mar Paella was inedible. The seafood was rubbery and the rice tasted off. She couldn't finish it. The same for my Curry Vegetables. Been coming here for nearly ten years. Selection of organic food is excellent. However, in the last few months, I regularly see non-service dogs coming in. There are signs clearly saying only service dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, management does nothing even after advising them of the issue. On a recent visit, I had to shoo away a dog who was sniffing in the refrigerated section of prepared meals. Love Jimbo's. While many people talk about the deli section, unfortunately I haven't gotten the chance to try it. I come here for the groceries. I've been on a hunt to find almond milk that has nothing but almonds and water in it, closest to what you would make at home (who has guar gum and carrageenan in their pantry!?). I went to Sprouts and the best one they had was the Barn brand and it still has acacia gum in it. Finally found what I needed at Jimbo's. I consider Jimbo's as the end of the spectrum in supermarkets. You have Ralph's and Vons, then Sprouts, then Whole Foods And finally you arrive at Jimbo's for the really local and small production brands - which is the best stuff most of the time! I dislike Whole Foods because the stuff are overpriced, the people who go there are meh and I don't want to give Amazon more business than they already have. The staff were super friendly and helpful too. One staff even helped me to get a cart after knowing I had to switch from a basket to a cart with all those almond milk haha. There's also a friendly guy behind the counter of cbd oils and supplements. Prices are never the same as conventional markets because of the quality of items from small production that they carry, but I'd say they're more affordable than Whole Foods. After vowing never to return to Jimbos because of their prices, I broke my vow and decided to check out their salad bar. There was almost no lettuce and what was there was old and limp. I asked a gentleman who worked there and was restocking soup if there was anymore lettuce. He bluntly told me there was no more romaine and he hadn't had time to restock the other lettuce. Rather than saying something like - if you wait a few minutes I'd be happy to refresh the lettuce - he just rudely walked away. Just can't handle their attitude! I told the cashier and she was apologetic but not sure this will get back to management so writing this review. If you want lettuce in your salad today - don't go to Jimbos! **I need to add that an hour after eating the salad I got very very sick and ended up in the ER. This place reminds me of Whole Foods, but just slightly different. Somehow WF seems kind of overwhelming. Jimbo's was brighter and easier to navigate. I also prefer their variety of hot foods. I tried a sample of Primo Chicken Salad and it was so good I ordered a sandwich right then and there. My wife got some baked chicken that was full of flavor. This is my go to grocery store for always fresh organic fruits and vegetables and meat. For convenience. I'll run to a large name brand grocery store that is 3 minutes from my house but I'm often disappointed by the quality of the produce. Jimbo's is always reliable. I also love their organic meats, fresh juice and organic coffee bar and the vitamin section. They also have a robust prepared food section and I'll occasionally get a soup or the $6 sushi on Wednesdays. If you are looking for a great organic grocery store, head to Jimbo's! This review is for poor communication and customer service. I went shopping at Jimbo's today and as usual, I ordered juice from the juice bar first before beginning my shopping because it takes a while to have the juice made. I was given two tags, one for each juice, and was told I should pay for the juice at the checkout which I always do. When I finished shopping I went to get my juice order but it had yet to be made so I waited. After I waited a while the woman behind the counter asked if I had received the tags to pay for the juice and I said yes. I continued to wait for my juice until she came back to tell me I must pay for the juice before she would start making it for me and that I had to show her my receipt to show I had paid for the juice. I said I had never had to do that before but went to pay for everything I was purchasing at the checkout. I had just been to Jimbo's 5 days before and ordered juice first then did my shopping. The juice was ready for me by the time I finished shopping; I then proceeded to pay for my groceries and juice at the checkout. I have been shopping at Jimbo's for 30 years and never had to pay for my juice before someone started to make it. After paying for everything, I showed the woman my receipt and she made my juice order. When I received the order I asked her if this was a new policy and she told me it was because there had been a lot of theft. I mentioned that a sign outlining the new policy would help customers understand the new process, but was told, "Well we tell you what you need to do when you make your order so you will know", apparently I hadn't heard her full instructions. She also said, "Sometimes it's hard to get used to a new way of doing things." That might be true and it makes sense that a business would create a policy to try to avoid theft, however, a clear sign stating, " After making an order at the juice bar, please pay for your order at the checkout. Your order will not be made until you show us a receipt showing you have paid." read more

I love the variety of quick, healthy and delicious choices for grab and go lunch. The fruit is always fresh and sweet and I find myself eating an entire container of watermelon or pineapple. The cheese and Charcuterie station is also great for finding unique cheeses and nosh items. BUT... my favorite thing from Jimbo's is their Clam Chowder!!!
