    Rosey in her temporary splint.

I love this vet office and staff. They truly care about your fur babies. I called at 4:25 pm on a Friday with a hurt pup. Dr. Lyndon and staff waited for us to arrive after closing time to help my baby Rosey. She broke/fractured her hind leg. Although Dr. Lyndon was not able to perform the needed surgery. He and his staff stabilized her and provided meds until I could find an orthopedic veterinarian. They take care of all my fur babies and could not be happier with the level of care and affection they show to their clientele of all types. Love this place!!

Dr Lydon is by far the best veterinary I've taken my pets to/dogs and cats, in the last forty years.

I got my dog heart worm tested with her first visit (although she had been taking heart worm pills since she was a puppy) and a 3 month supply of heart worm pills. When I was reaching the end of the supply I bought them on Chewy and set the pills to auto-refill. The veterinary clinic has refused to let Chewy refill the prescription without coming in for another test; in other words forcing me to either buy the pills from the clinic or get re-tested every year.

The veterinarian we saw was kind, gentle, and very comforting to our dog, which we really appreciated. There was also a lab issue where results were mishandled and we had to repeat samples, but the testing facility waived the cost of the retesting as it was their mistake. The vet herself was compassionate and overall that visit felt positive. Unfortunately, our experience with our other dog was very different. The veterinarian we saw during that appointment felt much more pushy and didn't take time to make our dog comfortable. We had also paid for annual testing and were instructed to return samples on the day of her scheduled surgery. To be safe, we brought the sample in a week early, but were then told it was past the deadline and that we would need to pay again to have the testing completed, which we already paid for. Because of the unexpected additional charge, we chose not to proceed with the second test. This was frustrating since we followed the instructions given by the clinic, and it felt unfair to be placed in that position. We've had positive experiences here in the past and would like to continue using the clinic, so I hope the practice might review what happened and consider making this situation right.

We found the perfect dog, couldn't take him home as next day he had a surgery scheduled. They took such great care of him, and the team of veterinarians were fantastic and extremely informative. My cousin found a dog a few months ago, and my 10 year old daughter was with her when they found her- my daughter and I don't want her sitting in a shelter. We were in the process of moving from Sonoma County to Shasta County. To make a long story short, we are now living up in shasta county full time. Today I went into Haven for some guidance, and explaining I am happy to foster her in my home until she is adopted. I was immediately spoke to like I was stupid for not "knowing Haven's Rules.' Now that she has been in our care for over 30 days, Haven refused to help us. The rude girl in the back area kept poking her head out to add and repeat the same rude, condescending comments. I just thought it was really unnecessary and mean spirited- Questioning if I even found the dog in shasta county- as if it mattered at this point, because you already told me "here's what that means, it means we won't be taking the dog and that she's your responsibility." And yes, my cousin found here in Redding. WHAT IS HAPPENING?! I have been trying to rehome this great dog and keep her out of a kennel, but I have learned that that is a bad thing to do in Haven's eyes. I don't work at a shelter, and I don't know what the specifics rules are. I'm sorry that I messed up. I was just trying to help. We have adopted and fostered with Haven in the past when we lived in shasta county three years ago, but I left feeling very ignored, spoken down to, like I was stupid for not knowing Haven's rules (I know, how dare I not study the pamphlet before stepping foot in their building). I understand that there is basically an epidemic of stray animals in Shasta County, but how you speak to people should matter. Even if you're unpaid volunteering, please rethink your "good deed" if you are going to go out of your way to try and make people feel unintelligent, dishonest, and just overall icky. I'm very disappointed in how I was treated today by the two women in the very first building- the pregnant woman and the other woman that was working with her. Boo. You are supposed to be here to help people, and I left feeling invalidated, like I did a bad thing, and almost like I was in trouble or something. What the heck?
