M4. & Mung Bean pancake with some radish banchan
    Danielle A.

This is quite literally my favorite place! I no longer live in Mt Pleasant but I go out of my way any time I head anywhere near that direction to stop in. Shin's was my introduction to Korean food and it doesn't disappoint. I've tried plenty of their menu but my comfort food is always the M4. Dak-Boul-Goom (stir fried chicken) with an order of Mung Bean Pancakes. The staff is always polite, the food quality has never changed. Definitely give it a try.

Absolutely DIVINE food! I've never had Korean cuisine but it's the best Asian food I've ever had, so now I'm hooked! It's so fresh and the meat is prime... Little joint but so worth it!!! Can't wait to come back!!

Yum yum yum! It's the only Korean restaurant in Mount Pleasant and its super tasty! You cannot go wrong with either the kimchi fried rice or the bibambop or anything for that matter! It is a hole in a wall and can get quite busy, but it's totally worth it!

It's a tiny restaurant with few tables but charge unbelievable price for $3 ingredients. Apparently the couple making good amount money from local people. Not worth it and Do not recommend at all.

Bulgolgi: Good, but tiny - Kimchi Fried Rice: greasy - Soft Tofu Soup: Yummy! - Udon Soup: Meh - Mini Mandoo: good, not homemade

It was good, but not great. The soft tofu seafood s oup was the best. The bulgolgi was good but very small. Sorry we ate everything before my mom took a picture because it was our first meal of the day after traveling. The kimchi fried rice had hotdog chunks in it LoL and was very greasy no flavor. The udon soup was ok. All their seafood pieces were miniature, like baby size, it was cute but not satisfying. We went and got burgers afterwards.

I was Excited about trying this place. I quickly placed my order after asking a few questions about heat levels. I explained I wanted a mild dish without burning heat. I was directed by the waitress to try the Dook-Bae-Gi-Bul-Go-Gi. When my bowl arrived it was not sizzling. It was BOILING! The cook who sat it down recommended placing ice cubes into my bowl until it cooled down enough to eat it. Once I got the temp down using the "Ice cube method" I was disappointed because it was a 10/10 for chili spice and heat. Not enjoyable at all. I love trying new places and will venture off the path to try something unique. It did not work this time. Trust.

seafood stew, kimchi, and shredded radish

Ah, almost makes me feel like I'm back in California. Pretty authentic Korean food; not like mom's cooking but they're working with what they have. Since the Korean population here is much smaller, we can't get the same products so easily. I ordered seafood stew and couldn't resist getting a tiny can of plum juice to go with it. The drink was sickly sweet, just as I remember it. They also have the rice and the cinnamon drinks in cans. While we were waiting, our server brought us kimchi and seasoned shredded radish. They were both good so I polished them off quickly. I just moved to Michigan so I was a little surprised when our server asked if we would like more. Replenishing these side dishes is common in Korean restaurants (at least if they like you) so that made me pretty happy, especially since I tend to finish them before my food arrives. My seafood stew was presented bubbling away in a stone pot, accompanied by good white rice with flecks of purple from a few grains of black rice. This is how my grandmother made rice, minus some beans thrown in for protein (but are there actually any Americans lacking protein?). The broth was great and the generous helping of seafood included mussels, little squids/octopi, and a variety of fish cakes. I would have preferred it spicier and with fresh herbs but I know it is watered down for more sensitive palates and I have not yet spotted chrysanthemum greens or water dropwort in my local produce department. Normally I don't get dessert but my boyfriend had never tried green tea mochi ice cream before. I was hoping that he wouldn't like the texture so I could have the two pieces all to myself but that was not the case. :P Overall it is a genuine presentation of Korean food with the ingredients available. The fact that it seems to be the only Korean restaurant in the area bumps it up another star.

Stopped in because I really enjoy Korean food and we have nothing even close for miles and miles. We were in the area and I found this place listed on Yelp. So it was a small mom and pop diner, reminded me of the shops back in Korea. The food was good, dol sot bibimbap came out hot and sizzling and the wifes bullgogi was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Only thing I would ask would be slightly bigger portions. Other than that, if I find myself in Mt. Pleasant again I'll surely stop in.

    Beautiful bulgogi beef :)

Clean and well organized. I feel like this market has a wider selection of snacks and good than Seoul Market, as Seoul Market has a restaurant inside. Both locations have their perks! Little selection of beauty supplies, bigger selection for kitchen supplies. 감사합니다!

They had a row of Asian noodles, to row of sauces, and dried goods (like vegetables). I loved how they had little bags in the fridge that had different types of soups. So handy and makes for a quick meal if you don't have much time to cook! Other quick Asian dish fixes - dumplings and ramen. They also have huge bags of different kinds of rice (up to 15lbs) like white and brown rice. Like many other stores, they also have some gadgets relating to food - rice cookers, utensils, Asian designed bowls, etc. The owners are super nice - they will greet you when you come in, and say bye when you leave. Overall, this store has pretty anything you'd except from a nice Korean store - noodles, rice, sauces, dried veggies and other foods, little bags of soups and sauces, kimchi, Asian veggies, etc.
