Came here for lunch on a Saturday and it was considered dinner prices which is fine because it includes blue crab and scallops. I love the Korean seafood broth and my husband tried the bone broth which he enjoyed. The extra items at the appetizer bar is a big plus. I really love the options for sauces and every time I come here to make my sauce I know exactly how to perfect it. This is my favorite hot pot place in all of west MI. I ended my meal with a probiotic drink near the dessert bar and some strawberry ice cream. Overall, I love coming here. The service is always great and they bring what we ask for pretty quick. This was my first time here, and it was everything I hoped it would be! I went with some friends and we decided to get the barbecue instead of the hot pot. I do like that all the tables are equipped to do both though so you wouldn't have to wait for any specific tables to do either. The tables and booths were also very large so large groups can easily be accommodated! The menu was large, so the all you can eat part was definitely worth it. I was so excited to try this place and we stopped in for their "All Day Dinner" on a Saturday for lunch. All this changes is that you can pick from their full menu of options which includes the dinner only things. It was $30 for all you can eat Korean BBQ and an extra $5 to add the hot pot. I think we will skip the hot pot next time but it was fun to try it out. The server was very helpful when explaining the process, giving us tips, and she even went and picked her favorite sauce from the sauce bar for us. She made recommendations on the menu which was very helpful. She routinely checked on us to swap the grill and to order more food, but we only needed to order one round. The Korean BBQ was fantastic and the meat was so flavorful. The calamari was the least favorite but the baby octopus was fun to try. The restaurant is massive and they have tons of employees. King pot is hands down my favorite restaurant in Grand Rapids. We have a small group of friends have that been doing a bimonthly/monthly dinner together and have ended up only going here since we found it!! Kevin is an amazing server, brings food out immediately, constantly checks on our table, and brings us as many quail eggs as you could possibly eat. It's super exciting to have another Korean BBQ place in town - and this one also has hot pot! You cook the items at your own table for each of these styles. The Korean BBQ has a grill in the middle of the table and if you do hot pot, you get a small pot of flavored broth on a burner at the table that you cook your items in. It's all you can eat for both options, and you can either choose just Korean BBQ or hot pot, or get both for an additional $5 per person. Note that the whole table has to do the same thing, so if you're going with a group keep that in mind. Another thing to keep in mind is that this place is fairly new and very popular, so Nate and I did have quite a bit of a wait to be seated when we arrived around 6 pm on a Friday. They quoted us 20 minutes but it ended up being closer to 40 minutes. I could tell that people were frustrated with this, but they take your number and text you when your table is ready. Our server was really friendly and as attentive as possible with the entire restaurant being completely packed. You can order as much as you want at one time, and I recommend ordering a bunch of items all in your first round. As the restaurant got busier as we were there, wait times for additional orders got longer and longer. We still had plenty to eat within the two hour time limit, but I didn't feel that we quite got our money's worth. The total was about $100 for two people, which I think is actually reasonable for this dining experience, I just wish we could've ordered a few more things. They can charge you for any leftover food, so be aware of your appetite! There is a buffet with some fried appetizer items - spring rolls, chicken wings, fries, onion rings etc., as well as an expansive sauce bar where you can mix up a dipping sauce for your items. I highly recommend the items that are already marinated like the bulgogi and spicy fish if you're not interested in making a sauce mix. I picked a few sauces and combined them into something tasty, which was helpful for some of the plain meats and veggies that we got. Our favorite items were the short ribs, spicy beef bulgogi, spicy salmon and spicy fish, and the eggplant and mushrooms. They were out of a few items that we tried to order. The hot pot menu is huge and I'm excited to try that next. There were lots of families, groups celebrating birthdays, and couples all enjoying this fun and delicious experience, which was awesome to see. Wow this place was fun. We came on a Sunday near opening and had to wait until our entire party was there to be seated, but then we were able to be seated right away. Our server was super nice and didn't seem annoyed by our questions. We decided to do both hot pot and bbq (everyone has to agree and it's 5$ extra per person). You then have two hours and can eat whatever during that time, but you do have to pay for any food you don't eat--but that wasn't a problem for us (but good to know so you don't over order). They have a sauce bar that also has some small items like desserts. I do wish they had what typical pairs with what. My husbands family is original from Korea so I asked them but they didn't know what would be best to dip with all of them (like the peanut butter sauce). The portions are smaller so you can try a lot of things. The bulgogi they had was some of the best my husband and I have ever had (and we get/make bulgogi once a week so we have it often). Our waiter was super helpful with ordering too so definitely ask questions. We had a magnificent time here and will be returning. My sister in law said it's her new favorite place! Look no further if you're craving Korean BBQ or Hot Pot. It's all you can eat for 2 hours (Sat/Sun for $29.99 for either K-BBQ or hot pot, add the other on for an extra $5). The big thing is that if one of you wants extra, the server will require everyone at the table to also do the same. So come in with a game plan on your ACYE experience! We went in and decided to only try K-BBQ for the $29.99. We got there right around open (12pm on Sunday) and was seated fairly promptly. I think we beat the rush because our server had a moment to breathe before the chaos started. I say chaos as in, they were short staffed and apologized up front but said that we should not have any issues ordering and receiving food in our 2 hour window, and every table was full in the restaurant! Huge things for me - the ventilation in here was clutch! I have gone to other places and felt like I was smoked out and in here? I didn't notice the smoke from the grills, and I definitely still smelled like K-BBQ when I left, it wasn't as bad as other places because they built this place properly. Once we placed our initial meat order with the server, she showed us their stations. They have a sauce, appetizer and dessert station for us to enjoy a couple appetizers while we waited (they had chicken wings, onion rings, french fries, and popcorn shrimp) to just nibble on before our food came. The sauce station was overwhelming and we just got a bunch for the table to share! My favorite was the spicy garlic sauce. The food came out in a timely manner and the BBQ itself was a little small for everything we wanted, but I think our favorite was the short ribs. They were already marinated so you didn't need the sauce if you didn't actually want it. Everything we tried was great and I love that we got a chance to cook it to our liking. I definitely felt like 2 hours was plenty of time and the server was very helpful in providing us details of how much to order. If you don't eat everything, they can charge you $13.99 per pound of uneaten food. So they don't want you to waste anything. Big thing to note - the gratuity is split between server, food runners and back of house... so it's not going to all go to your server who is hustling to get you your food orders in. I absolutely love this place! It's huge with lots of seating areas and the setting is so nice. I haven't had to wait to be seated and I've gone here over 5 times already. I love being able to choose between Korean bbq or hotpot and you can also choose both, but there's a price difference. There are many meat and veggie options but I highly recommend beef bulgogi and the short ribs. They also have seafood options. Some places will cook it for you, but with this place you'll have to do it yourself. I usually have my dad or brother do it haha. There's also a sauce section for you to create your own. If you are looking for a Korean barbecue or hot pot experience, King Pot may be the place for you! My daughters and I recently tried them out for my daughter's birthday. We walked in to a large dining area and got seated right away. The booths and tables are large and nothing felt cramped in any way. First things first, David, our server was so kind and informative. He made my girls feel right at ease, and none of our questions were treated as silly questions. He suggested that we try the barbecue and hot pot combination so we could try both. The food is all you can eat, but they have a strong stance against food waste, so be aware! If you are going for the first time, I highly recommend allowing your server to make recommendations and bring out a variety of foods to try. Once you have tried a variety and discovered your favorites, you can order those products. We enjoyed getting out of our comfort zone, then we reordered a few items that we particularly liked. Everything was very fresh and clean. Overall we had a good lunch. It got a little be hot at times with the cooking at the table, and I did feel that it was a bit labor intensive by nature, but I'm glad we tried it! read more

This is exactly what Grand Rapids needed. We do have another Korean bbq in GR however this place is miles ahead in all aspects. The servers here are wonderful. Friendly and helpful. They are quick and attentive. There was a table behind us who had never been to a Korean bbq and they were asking the server a bunch of questions, however the server was very patient and answered all their questions and made sure they had a great first time experience. The food there is absolutely delicious. It may seem a little overwhelming with all the options they offer, but once you get it figured out, it becomes exciting with all the different combinations of meat, veggies and sauces. You can't beat the prices! We went at lunch and for both Korean bbq and the hot pot, it was only $24.99 or $19.99 if you got just the hot pot or Korean bbq. The menu for lunch is a tad bit limited compared to dinner menu. But the prices at dinner are not drastically higher especially with all the options you get. This is definitely the place to go to when you want a fun experience with friends or even for a date night. Like I said before, this place is miles if not worlds ahead of the other Korean bbq that's in downtown. I would highly recommend this place for better food and MUCH better service. Had a really great time trying out King Pot. I have had good and bad experiences with Korean BBQ joints, but this one had some really good food. The King Pot Pork Belly was the highlight of the many things we tried. And the Ribeye and the Brisket in the hot pot were great. They also have a very cool build your own sauce bar where you can go choose from a variety of sauces and ingredients to make your own. Including some fantastic pickled radish. When we go back, we will most likely just do the Korean BBQ rather than both that and the hot pot. But I would recommend trying both. Our fault. Met a friend there and we were anticipating a relaxing dinner and conversation. The entire time you are cooking this and that. Our grill wasn't working properly so we couldn't figure out why it took so long to cook. The sweet potato slices never did cook enough. Asked about sauces. We had to go to the opposite end of the room and carry the various sauces back to our table. It seemed all the groups were enjoying themselves because they were all keeping an eye on things. Very good. We went about a month after they opened. All food was fresh and plentiful. My only complaint was it was the first time either of us had hot pot or KBBQ (we got both) and we were totally lost on what to do, how to order, how to cook and eat the food, etc. And, unfortunately, there was a language disconnect with the staff. We were so lost on how to proceed -I'm pretty sure we were cooking hot pot on the BBQ grill and vice versa. It would've been helpful going with someone who already knew the ropes. I wish there were more sauces -overall, I think it would've been a great experience if we knew how to execute the food properly. For $35/person, I'm not sure if we will return. This was amazing! If you're familiar with Korean BBQ all places have the grill where you cook whatever items you order. This place also has a soup pot that you can add onto your BBQ for about $5. We went on a Sunday and it was all you can eat. You can continually order to your hearts content. There were so many things that were good. The spicy broth was very spicy but so flavorful. Their Bulgogi spicy chicken and the ribs were maybe my favorite meat. They have a GR heat assortment of veggies and everything was fresh. They also had the spicy bar and appetizer bar. That's a section where there are a ton of different sauces, spices, and herbs for adding to you pot or dipping your food into. They also had a bunch of fried appetizers like egg rolls, and chicken wings. I didn't take anything from the appetizers because I wanted only the BBQ. The staff was friendly and always there to add items to your order, it's a order as you go kind of place. It was really large and was a pretty open concept so all the smells of the bbq were in the air. They had a bar but I didn't s the any alcohol. We came here a few weeks ago and I've been meaning to write a review. Decent place with a good handful of meat options on the KBBQ side, but we didn't mess with the hot pot. Our server did his best to be helpful and for the most part was pretty good, although he got overwhelmed with other tables and was ultimately unable to provide a high level of service across the board. Typcial KBBQ noise - cooking, a little smoke off the grills, people chatting away, etc. A few additional points: 1.) They have a small "buffet" with kimchee and some fried things like shrimp, chicken wings, etc. - nothing that's going to rock your world, but if you come here hungry RIGHT NOW you can get something to snack on. 2.) They don't have banchan other than kimchee and some pickled daikon that is self-serve. You can order some other things like japchae but it's an upcharge. With that said, we'd probably consider coming back, but we want to check out the other options in town first. At nearly $80-100 for two people after food / drinks / tip, it's a bit of a disappointment when compared to other KBBQs we've been to. read more

I've been here a couple times with others and always had enjoyable experiences. This time I went by myself and got hotpot. Food was great up until I found three separate bugs floating around! I immediately lost my appetite and told my waiter, Kevin. He was pretty apathetic and said yeah that happens and shot a "Sorry about that," as he walked away. First off, ew. To brush it off by saying this isn't the first time is gross, and to do it without concern makes it worse. FOOD POISONING HUB! DO NOT EAT HERE! The entire establishment is filthy. They give you plates full of sketchy looking raw meat and expect you to cook them all on the same small burner. Yes, raw chicken, vegetables, beef, noodles, etc. They have an "appetizer bar" open to the public to grab and go, which was appalling. Their "sauce bar" is also open to the public for others to bring their raw meats up to. They have no salt and pepper at the tables, you have to use the community s&p near the sauce bar, which everyone uses with their dirty hands full of raw meat, juices, and bacteria. Let's talk about the service. Julie, the manager, has clearly never managed anything prior to this. When asked for a discount, it was a clear cut "no." We didn't ask for her to wipe the bill clean, we asked for a discount. We ended up leaving and having to eat dinner elsewhere because of how disgusting this place was. (SALMONELLA WARNING) This establishment lacks anything HYGENIC we sat at the establishment for 30 minutes the raw food arrived we were appalled by the rotten raw looking meat and the sauce station that clearly had cross-contamination from raw chicken and raw meat as people were pouring sauces directly on the raw meat with every serving spoon everyone was touching the serving spoons with raw meat and Community bottles of sauces being passed around that were sticky to the touch! I do not recommend this establishment whatsoever huge Health concern surprised it's still in business! We LOVED King Pot! The ambiance was great- big booths with some privacy, and nice lighting. I cannot say enough great things about our server- I wish I remember his name. I'd never been to a Korean bbq before and my partner had never been to Hot Pot so we got both. Our server helped by just bringing a mix of meats & veggies that he thought he'd enjoy. It helped narrow down the endless options! He was very low pressure and friendly. They also have a buffet style area with 30ish sauces, kimchi (that was incredible) and some appetizers. We're gluten free and most of these were fried foods. I cannot stop thinking about our next visit. Also, we spent 100$ after tip and we're absolutely stuffed.
