I did a walk in since the salon closer to me, Pink Nails Spa rejected my walk in (weren't very nice about it either). At Pink Toes about 0.4 miles from Pink Spa, they were kind about it and I absolutely didn't mind the wait since I didn't reserve. She painted FOUR different color combinations directly on my nails so I could truly compare different options. once I chose my favorite, she carefully removed the other three so everything matched perfectly. I've honestly never been treated so thoughtfully during a nail appointment, as most nail techs try to rush you in and out. The salon itself is calm, clean, and very relaxing with nice music. I made an appointment ahead of time on the phone, was seated immediately when I arrived, and was seen right away. The whole experience was smooth and professional from start to finish. They also offer 10% off when you pay cash, which is a nice bonus for them to do. I haven't made it down here in a while since Bry's Nails opened and is much closer to me, but they were closed and I needed a pedicure, so I made the trek down to H&K recently. I got there around two hours before closing time and the wait on a weekday was around a half hour. I had no other options at this point, so I decided to wait it out. It was super busy, they actually ended up turning a few people away who came in after me. Once I was in the chair all went well. My nail tech was super professional and did an excellent job. The nail color selection here is okay but not as robust as other nearby spots. But all in all, a good, centrally located nail salon.

Had called the day before to make an appointment, got there a bit late (that's why the bigger tip) but the ladies seemed very relaxed about it. The salon was empty & they were very casual & chatty. Fenny greeted me first & I could tell she's probably very good at nail design & detail. However, the head tech on the far left station, next to the sinks did my manicure. It's a dry (used electric filing tool to do my cuticles), no lotion, no massage experience. And the tech used a dirty (had a smear of purple polish in the middle) warm washcloth as the "hot treatment/cleaning" part. I meditated & lowered my expectations & went with the flow. Let her finish up, things look average & it wasn't until my nails were dry and I got outside that I noticed the poor quality. Application: right hand looked okay but polish got on a few of the cuticles & had to carefully remove it at home. Left hand nail polish layers were bumpy & uneven. I noticed the tech painting strokes at an angle, and then at the end, felt her dab my index finger weirdly. It's easy to mess up enamel application & with a nude color like that - of course it'll show when dry! The salon is a lot bigger on the inside than it looks. The pedicure furniture and manicure stations are clean and well kept. Decor is actually cute & having the sinks in the middle of the room seems so convenient. There's an AMAZING amount of gel & regular color options! But the whole experience just involved a lot of chatter & minimal attention to detail. The actual shape of my nails are extremely bulbous and thick at the base, bumpy, and round with a weird sharp point at the end. I asked for pointy almond. These nails are so unflattering they make my hands look short and stubby. I have been getting dip for 2 years now and have never been this disappointed before.
