Can't speak on the food yet since I'm sitting here waiting for my take out, but service seems inept. Walked in and waiting a good while before the clerk came out and noticed me. Just saw another customer experience the same thing. They need a bell or have the cashier pay more attention. Will edit when I eat, but at best this is 3 stars based on service and a generous assumption of the food. Oh, and boba tea is made from powders and some generic jugs of syrup from what I saw. FYI - Chinese fast food is not Chinese food to me. Its as authentic as taco bell is mexican - an american altered food genre. read more

Amazing! My family and I went here after church on a Sunday afternoon, and it was great! They had a lunch special for very cheap! We got a mountain of the friend rice for only $7. It was so much good food for so cheap. We ended taking leftovers home and trust me, we can eat. I got an appetizer of 8 dumpling for $5 as my meal and it filled me up even being an appetizer. I definitely recommend this place. The place is a little small in a bit of a rundown strip of places, but it's clean and big enough to dine in. They also do delivery, which we didn't do, but we saw people come in, get their food, and leave looking happy. It didn't take too long for them to get their delivery either. The service was also decent. Our food didn't take too long and we were able to sit down, talk, and eat. I would honestly chose this place over other popular restaurants. I think if I'm being honest it's the most underrated Chinese place there is. We are definitely going back soon. 100 percent recommend. You get what you pay for! read more

I have been waiting to try this place out for several months. I am now mad at myself for waiting this long! This visit I called in a carry out order. I figured I would give one of the $5.95 lunch selections a try so I went with jalapeno chicken. The lunch specials also include an egg roll and fried or steamed rice. The rice was good and the chicken was hot and fresh. The egg roll was one of the better ones I have had in quite some time. The portion was enough to feed two light eaters. I also got an order of pork singapore rice noodles which may be my new favorite dish! If you haven't tried this place out you should. I will be returning frequently and won't be at pei wei very often as long as this place is around! read more

Decent grub. Dinner menu was pretty standard American Chinese food. I had the Mongolian beef and dumplings. Dumplings were well done with a great sauce. 3 stars for keeping it standard. Would love to seem some more ethic dishes... Maybe xiao long bao? read more

Yeah I'm Asian and pretty much grew up on it. For the price I paid, didn't get much chicken. Maybe like 5 small pieces and tons of sauce and liquid. Amazingly great place!!! The owner lady is super friendly. No extra charge for shrimp option for any lunch dishes. Really fast service. And large portions (it varies from time to time, but in general it's large. If not, I'm sure she'll give you more when asked). My usual dishes are shrimp Lomein and Kung Pao Shrimp. Pan-fried dumpling is best I've ever ordered (and I'm asian!!!), with home-made sauce to go with it and I highly recommend you order this for appetizer. read more

Great food! Always fresh and consistently good. My only complaint is if you place an order online you have to call and tell them you placed the order. If not, you'll be waiting for your order for HOURS! And when I called to ask about my delivery she tried to lie and say it didn't go through when I had the email confirmation to prove it. All she had to do was be honest and say they haven't checked. I now just call my order in or go pick it up if I don't feel like waiting. read more

I love shiny wok, it has become the most authentic Chinese take out for us in rowlett and a major bonus is that they have boba tea ! Love the jalapeño chicken, hot and sour soup is great it's actual soup that does not solidify the next day like other places. Been coming here for a few years now, mostly dining in. The food is always very fresh and well above average quality, especially for the price. Part of what keeps us coming back is the staff, always very friendly, and I swear the portions are a little bigger if they recognize you as a regular. Even the standard portions are pretty generous. This place is new, clean, and it's good. Menu selection has different dishes you won't get at the other nearby Chinese restaurants. Tried their jalapeno chicken--whew it was spicy. I usually hate chinese eggrolls because of the contents, but this one was surprisingly good. Their crispy beef is delicious too. They have boba tea!!! read more

Service is good and speedy delivery. But the food is very bland. We got the spicy crispy beef that seemed to be burned a little and it was not spicy at all. No flavor really. And we also got general tso and that was even more bland. The fried rice had no flavor. I'm kinda confused with the 4 stars for this place. We ended up just throwing it away and eating TV dinners. 1st time trying this restaurant, we submitted the order online. 20 minutes after getting the confirmation email, the restaurant called to say they were out of an item we had ordered. When changing the item, our order wasnt ready for 30 minutes after that point. Over an hour to wait for food that was the desired item. No thanks. Even with the previous experience, we ordered from this restaurant again. What do you know?!? 15 minutes after receiving our order confirmation, they called to say they were out of another item we ordered. This is ridiculous. Sorry to say that I probably won't come here for the boba I raved about previously. The last 3 times I was here to get boba, the tapioca pearls were just terrible and the actual drinks were nothing to rave about anymore. And I hate to say that because I really hope their business doesn't close down since they're nice people. I'm sure the food is better but I've never tried it. I will never go back to this place; they mess up my order EVERY single time, and I'm through! I'd gone there because the food is decent, but it's not worth the hassle anymore. I'd gone there because after a long day at work, and the kids are hungry, it's easy to stop in and pick up an order to go. But, when they don't give you every dish that you request, and then have to wait an extra 20-30 minutes for them to finish the request, it's aggravating!!! So, I'm happy to say that Shiny Work will never see me or my family again. Goodbye! read more

I called 2 hours ago and ordered 2 diners and sides to be delivered. They promised dinner in an hr. No one called to explain a delay, no one showed up with food. I just called again. "Oh she is on the way." Right, I believe the food is good my husband ate lunch there, but the delivary is quite poor. No call , no follow up, no nothing. The food arrived 2 hrs. and 15 mins later.
