Where should I start, I'll just list…read more.. 1) started later than agreed to and finished way past the stated work timeframe 2) artificial turf, was not finished along the edges where the turf meets the mulch, I had another company come out and finish the turf 3) several plants have died while others right next to them have thrived which tells me they were not planted correctly or the drips are not near the plants roots. Also, when they plant they do not use any kind of soil amendment like most companies automatically include. 4) Edges of the turf have been consistently peeling up along the pavers, not sure if this is the high-quality turf I paid for or a cheap imitation, but I never had this happen on prior turf that I had installed that looked as good as new 6 years after it was installed 5) one of the irrigation low voltage lines was cut, and when this was pointed out to him, he stated I probably did it. He worked out a cheap workaround with a battery operated timer (not connected to the one in the garage) to get the backyard irrigation running. The junction box was not buried like it should be but left on top of the mulch with exposed wires. Valves stopped working about six weeks later and when I contacted him, he said it was not under warranty, but he could come out and repair it. I hired another company to come out and fix it, and they indicated that the work was some of the worst that they had ever seen. Speaking of irrigation, I have a leak somewhere as you can see in one of my photos where the water is still running and the drips are off and I have one area where the connection came apart and had to repair it myself. I'll be having the sprinkler company come out to bury the junction box, fix the leak, and fix the area where they connected the drip system to the sprinkler head. (Great company by the way) 6) as soon as he had finished the work he was demanding payment. He was contacting me repeatedly, and I felt his tone was somewhat hostile. I told him I wanted to check everything out before paying him and when I did, I found out that the irrigation in the back was not working. He still demanded payment stating he had workers to pay and I told him I wasn't going to pay until he fixed the irrigation. I agreed to pay him part of what I owed, and I would pay him the balance when the irrigation was working. A week later he did his "work around". 7) communication was very poor throughout the project. The six day project ended up taking over three weeks and was incomplete when I had family visit in town which he knew about prior to starting the job. These are just some of the reasons why I do not recommend this company in anyway . I've done a lot of renovations in the many homes I have owned, this is by far the worst contractor I've ever worked with.

When he first visited, I explained what I wanted done and mentioned I was getting estimates from three other gardeners and would get back to him. After deciding to go with him, we set a date and time. On the scheduled day, we agreed he would show up between 12 and 1 PM. However, he didn't call or text and didn't arrive until 5:50 PM, bringing a co-worker to show him what needed to be done. I pointed out where to cut, which spots to avoid, and asked him to remove the blackberry bushes and mow the front yard. He agreed and said his co-worker would return the next day at 1 PM, but no one showed up. He called later that day, saying his co-worker had an emergency. We rescheduled for Monday at 1 PM, on Memorial Day. He didn't contact me until later that day, saying he forgot it was a holiday and was at the beach with his family. He promised to come the next day at 2 PM but didn't show up until 3 PM. By then, I was quite frustrated but let him proceed, trusting his promise to do a great job. Unfortunately, the result was far from satisfactory. For the price I paid, I felt I could have done a better job myself. I had to leave that day, trusting him to finish the work, but when I returned, I found he had cut my Bugleweed, Forsythia, Clematis (two of them), and a rabbit fern I had just planted, despite my clear instructions to leave those alone. He claimed he thought the Bugleweed was a weed and wasn't paying attention with the Clematis, Forsythia, and Rabbit Fern. What made it more irritating was that he didn't offer to replace any of the plants. He also lied about removing the blackberry bush roots, which are clearly still there. Another part of our agreement was to mow and spray the front yard with weed killer. When I reached out to confirm if he had done this, he admitted he had "run out" of the spray and hadn't finished the job. He claimed he forgot to inform me before leaving and asked if he could return to complete it. I feel that if I hadn't inquired, he wouldn't have mentioned it at all. I honestly feel scammed and deceived. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with Jose's service and cannot recommend him.

Think Yeti territory. Think snakes the size of your grandma. There could have been entire bars full of Irishmen living in my future backyard, and I wouldn't have known, until after buying this house. So, in the interest of full disclosure, I suggested that we hire a landscaper. Enter Fiddlehead. Dave is not a landscaper, he is a wizard. After bringing in some machine with what looks to be about a 100 goat-power, he pulverized the jungle, cut down a tree, neatly trimmed the hedges, weeded the ferns, cleared the paths, reset the bricks, and generally introduced civilization into the hinterlands, in less than two days. Did I mention that he also knew the name of every plant on the property, and they do bioswales, permaculture, and stonework too? I can't wait to see what they suggest in the way of landscape design!
