My party of 5 just left after sitting at Keeper's for 2.5 hours on Saturday night, 5 July 25, and not receiving any main courses nor the server having any idea when they might be delivered. We arrived for our 7:45 reservation 10 minutes early and still were not seated until 8:10P. Our server was actually happy when we asked for our check and asked her to cancel our order. I understand it's a holiday weekend, but perhaps as the business you shouldn't allow multiple parties of 15 at the same time the rest of the tables are full and when the kitchen can't keep up (The wait staff told us that only two people were working in the kitchen). We were not the only table to leave because of the inability of the kitchen to keep up. We felt bad for the serving staff, but we never saw or heard from a supervisor or a manager on the floor. And when we decided to depart, we weren't even offered a discount on our appetizers and drinks, even though we had sat patiently for 2.5 hours. I really want this place to succeed, but you've got to be able to do the basics if you want people to ever come back. Please figure out how to run the restaurant during the busy season.

Grilled chicken salad

Everything we ate was delicious and the service was outstanding. Pur starters included pimento cheese with fried bread and fish bites. Our entrees included shrimp & grits, smoked duck & pancakes and grilled chicken salad. Our drinks were refreshing with a Bloody Mary, Lost in the Desert and Love you, Mean it. We'll be back!

22oz Porterhouse and seasonal veggies.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Keepers looks like a little bar and grill. There's live music and people roaming around the bar chit chatting and generally having a good time in their sun dresses and khaki short and polo attire.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you look closer, you see the care put into the live plants and flowers scattered about but placed with intention. You will also notice the herb garden which is a peek into your future.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then the friendly waiter acted as our guide to destiny. The food...the Chef ,and I don't use that word loosely, is truly an artist. The seasonal scallops were seared perfectly and presented beautifully. I don't like seafood but tried one anyway and the texture was buttery and the flavor was epic. I have no words for the sauce they were served in. It is an experience you just have to try. I had the porterhouse steak as an entrée. If you ate it by itself it would have been one of the top 3 steaks I've ever eaten. Paired with the seasonal vegetables and the baby potatoes, it was the best, most though out meal I've ever eaten. There were traces of the same spices in each dish that drew you back to the steak. They were separate dishes that complemented each other perfectly and I was left with the feeling that without all three I would have missed something. The emotions my brain attached to this meal were, no doubt, crafted and guided by the thought and love the chef obviously puts into his work. The veggies were hand picked the day prior by the chef himself and the steak was cut in the restaurant. If you can't tell, I was blindsided when I walked into this little bistro in Port St Joe, FL. I'm not a food critic. I don't even eat out that much. I consider myself a pretty good cook though. I was left speechless when I tasted this food. I was able to talk to the chef and hear the love for his art flow from him. This place is unrivaled in the Panhandle.

I loved everything about this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant had such a great date night vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is delicious. The drinks are awesome! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We ate outside and it was beautiful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was surprised this place wasn't more packed, I'd assume it will be in the future![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Paw Paw Mai Tai on the left. A Florida liqueur to cure all ills! Keeper Menu.

A big thanks to bartender Jason who helped us with drinks, food, and where to go in town. The Paw Paw Mai Tai was amazing and beautiful. We missed the happy hour fish bites, but Jason got approval from the kitchen and they were amazing. He also recommended the Garden of Eden hike north of town which we did the very next day! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is so nice without being pretentious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now our PSJ fav!

Lobster tail appetizer

Everything was so tasty! Visited the cape with family and 4 of the grown ups went out for dinner. Oysters, scallops, and drinks are sublime Wish we had a Keeper's in Indiana!

Happy hour drink and pimento cheese- delish!

Says it's open but it's not. No answer at door and kid on phone doesn't have a clue! Big waste of time on a Thursday afternoon.

We waited around 20 minutes for a table, grabbed two beers from the bar, and sat outside while we waited. Once seated, we were "greeted" by our server, and that interaction set the tone for the rest of the evening. She was rude, short, and overall unpleasant. She never checked in after any course, seemed uninterested in our experience, and at times even slammed food onto the table. Every interaction felt rushed, and as soon as she came by, she was quick to disappear. It felt like she had no concern for our satisfaction throughout the meal. We had planned on staying for dessert and another round of drinks, but honestly felt uncomfortable doing so. When we asked for a box, she already had the check in hand. While I understand wanting to be efficient and prepared, given her attitude throughout the night it came across more like she was trying to rush us out than provide good service. The food truly was excellent, which makes the experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, we did not get her name, but she was blonde and wearing a pink shirt. I get being busy but this was simply not the case.

It's worth the visit just to feel at home while away from home. Of course the homey feel and outstanding service from people who truly care about you is a definitive draw, but in addition the food is excellent! Flounder basket is a favorite of our crew, huge pieces of perfectly cooked, lightly breaded sweetness, fried oysters are the same. Po boys are top shelf, but the real surprise is the jambalaya. Just get it all the way, you won't be sorry. If Mama Dem is working, ask her for one of her off the menu drinks, just go with whatever she makes you (or recommends from the menu as well), she's a pro and only adds to the value of this PSJ institution.
