I recently discovered Cava this year and I've been hooked. I always get the Build Your Own Bowl, this time I tried the lamb meatballs and the honey chicken. I absolutely love Cava and how I can add different options like hummus and really load up on the vegetables as well. The Balsamic Date Vinaigrette is so good I wish they sold it in store! I also got the pineapple apple mint juice, it was a little on the watered down side so I opted for tea when I went back for a refill. I stopped by CAVA for a quick lunch and ordered takeout. I went with the braised lamb over basmati rice and lentils with a few toppings, along with a side of pita chips. The bowl looked great on the line, but once I started eating, the rice was hit or miss. Some of it was hard and clumped together, and I ended up removing those parts. The lamb looked really good but tasted like it could have used more seasoning. The portion size was also a little disappointing. The bowl itself is large, but the amount of meat and rice felt small compared to the size of the container. I ordered plain pita chips, but instead received the new sour cream and onion version. That turned out to be a pleasant surprise. They were fresh, had great seasoning, and ended up being my favorite part of the meal. I would honestly go back just to get those again. My son ordered the chicken bowl. He said it was just okay and agreed that the portion size felt small for the size of the bowl. Overall, it wasn't a bad meal, but it wasn't a standout either. Tried the BYO bowl. I loved that there were so many options but the temporarily out of the white sweet potato which I really wanted to try. I got the grilled chicken and it was a bit too fatty for me. I think I'll do strictly vegetarian next time. Everything else was delicious though! I visited on a Friday evening ! They were busy, it was a MESS! This is my first time visiting CaVa . I was trying to ask questions about how to order and just general things but the lady was not really helpful. I ordered a bowl with the saffron rice, black lentils, steak, a side of the potatoes I topped my bowl with the triple feta cheese, hummus, and Taziki corn, extra cucumber feta I ordered a side of bread It was extremely loud environment and hard to hear the dining room room was messy so we couldn't really eat in in the bathroom. Bathrooms were not clean. The drain station was not clean. There's about six or eight people there working it seemed like there were a lot of people given directions and not a lot of people working and everybody was kind of stepping on everybody's foot. That's just my observation everybody runs their ship differently. It seemed like each person needed a station and need to stay in that station and pass the balls along versus one person complete your bowl and take you all the way down the line, especially when it was so busy. Our party of four visited this location on a Friday evening. Even though the store was busy, the crew kept the line moving with precision but not in an aloof manner. Clean tables were few and the napkin holders were bone dry. But, when I approached one of the crew about the need for napkins, he immediately assisted us while handling the check out register. At first glance, it can look intimidating because it stretches across the restaurant with hungry guests waiting their turn. But somehow the staff keeps it moving like a well practiced orchestra. Before you know it, you are already at the counter, building your bowl and wondering why you ever doubted them in the first place. Now for the one area that could use some love--the dining space. This is my Cava I go to or order from when I'm having it during the work day. It's a quick commute for me, right up the I-4. Ambiance is standard, but I do like that unlike other quick service restaurants that have been popping up lately, there is actual room to move around in the dining room, and actual seats to sit down and have lunch. No pressure to get in and get out. I like that. Service is always wonderful. It's perfectly optimized for me. I tell them which bowl I want, I tell them if I want any alterations made to the bowl, and I paying and leaving. Very efficient. Now the food, the food is redonkulous. It's Mediterranean based, so it's already delicious, with the feta, the tzatziki, the hummuses, the harissa, it's just so good. On top of the food being good, why I really frequent this place, they can make you a good bowl at a responsible calorie count! I count my calories, and if I'm going out to lunch, it's usually impossible to find a meal anywhere that keeps things between 500-700 calories, and if you do, you're eating a boring salad or a boring piece of grilled chicken on a cardboard bun. Here, I get the Tahini Caesar (550 calories- Grilled chicken, hummus, pita crisps, pickled onions, feta, romaine, arugula, Tahini Caesar dressing), I eat the delicious bowl, I have stayed on my health and wellness journey without straying from the path, and I am happy. My first time trying Cava and now I'm wondering why it took me so long to go there. Cava is a quick-service restaurant serving Mediterranean bites. It is a similar concept to a Chipotle where you go up to the counter and build your bowl or choose one of their signature bowls. They have so many options and toppings. The bowl I chose was delicious and healthy with greens, protein and other toppings. I ordered the Harissa avocado bowl. The chicken had a spicy kick and it was delicious. I switched the hot harissa vinaigrette for the lemon herb tahini and it was a win! My friends ordered the balsamic date chicken and the chicken rightice. Both were happy with their order and enjoyed it. The bowls come with complimentary pita bread The staff at this location were friendly and explained the menu to me. The staff made sure to keep the seating area tidy. Most of the tables were for 2 or 4 people so I don't think this is a good place for large groups. They also have outdoors seating area. They don't serve traditional soda brands, it is a craft soda brand. They also have a variety of aguas frescas. Overall, I loved this place and the concept. I love cava and I'm having it probably 6 times a month but lately they have been serving so little and so saucy that it feels more like soup than a Mediterranean bowl. I ordered what I normally do. How do I know? 3 players from my daughters college basketball ball team got food poisoning from the chicken at the location in Athens ga. They were in playoffs and three of their top players were so sick they had to get IV fluids. Now I'm here and I just saw another employee dump the meat on top instead of dumping the old meat onto the new meat. Yall are asking for a nationwide lawsuit cuz they all do it. Cava offers fast casual with a plethora of options for dietary needs and picky eaters alike. I am vegan, and enjoy the vegetables and the falafel. Both are absolutely delicious. The beans, rice offerings, rice alternatives, and salads (so all of the bases) are vegan. They have plenty of toppings to pick from as well. My favorites have to be the Persian cucumbers and the cabbage slaw. All the Sauces are labeled clearly so that you know the spice level and whether or not they are vegan. If you're unsure if an item is vegan, you can just ask the staff or you can look it up and they have the information labelled clearly on their website. I have never had an issue with cross contamination but they will re-do it if you need them to. The only thing I would recommend being careful about is the lentils as they can be hard as rocks if you get any from the bottom of the pot. I usually get a sample if im not sure. I come here often and look forward to the next time I'll be eating at CAVA! read more

What a great yummy addition to the Lake Mary area! It's located on the corner of Lake Mary Blvd and Primera. Reminds me of another version of Chipotle but the Greek or Mediterranean version! The Ingredients are fresh and they offer so many variety of chef curated bowls and pitas. You can even build your own. We felt content to order the curated pitas and they were delicious! I would recommend to order the sauces on the side because you can select how much of it to use and it's less messy. I ordered the Spicy Lamb meatballs with all the toppings it comes with and my son ordered the Steak and feta pita. I love how the pitas are warmed up before toppings are added. To our delight, our pitas were very fresh, tasty, and filling. I also would recommend ordering a fountain drink and trying all the flavors. Surprisingly enough, I loved the cucumber drink. I also tried the pineapple one and I did not like it. Service was pretty quick and fast and the ambiance was just pretty chill with a modern urban vibe. My initial issue is consistent with the other one-star ratings about this location. Simply put - it's time to find new employees. Two of the three front counter staff clearly do not want to be there! On top of that, I ordered four bowls including a non spicy bowl but discovered I was given the spicy one when I got home. I had to just throw it away because they were closed by the time we sat down to eat. Besides, the location is not a close drive. The only salvation is the other three bowls received compliments. I love Cava! We came in for a quick dinner before a conference and it was a great experience. I love the concept of fresh and healthy quick service. The staff were nice and efficient. The store was bright and clean. For my entree, I got the falafel and I already want another one. It was bright, zesty, and fresh. The sauces are the best! It was a little too messy to eat with my hands, so I used a fork and knife. To drink I got a lavender blueberry refresher and it was fruity and floral without being overly sweet. You know the food is good when you write your review before you finish eating! This was my first time here and WOW the food was incredibly fresh and oh so delicious. The staff here are so kind. They offered to let me try things that I wasn't quite sure of. Spoiler alert- it was all good! I ordered a kids meal because I wasn't super hungry. Cava continues to be a go to for me. My bowl of choice is a greens and grains bowl with grilled chicken and I love the customizability a la your favorite Tex mex places of choice. Everyone that works there has always been so friendly to me even when I don't know what I want in my bowl haha. Their app is also really nifty with a rewards program, so you can gain reward dollars or order online for pickup. Always a plus from me! I gave a three because I ordered at work at 11:30 for a promise pickup time at 12pm. I waited thirty minutes after 12 and almost asked for a refund because I was going to be late for work. I would come back because the food was so good! Everything has a super fresh Mediterranean feel and for 8.22 for a kids meal it was a great deal! Just stinks that I had to wait so long for it. This place is amazing! For those that are unfamiliar it is a chain restaurant that is growing fast. Everything here is amazing and it is by far the most reliable chain in terms of quality and consistency! My personal favorite is the Hot Harissa Avocado bowl. That does have some spice to it so would not recommend for those who are spice adverse. The tahini Caesar is also a great option. Everything they have is excellent.
