The owner Nick was helping in the process of choosing the cake and was quick to respond with any questions I had! The cake I chose was marble with Bavarian cream and strawberry, which was probably one of the best cakes I've had! Kept the cake in the fridge the entire day until it was time to cut and serve, but sadly the cake started to fall apart as I was cutting each slice. Probably from the consistency of the cream! Would've been perfect if the cream was more thicker cause it was messy. Things happen and we made it work
I have no words for how beautiful my sister's wedding shower cake was! I mean, take a look for yourself Nick is truly a rare talent. I gave him a photo of what I wanted, and he made it better than the photo. And it was delicious! Thank you, Nick. We will be loyal customers of Shirin Bakery always. Trust me when I tell you no other bakery even comes close. :)
We ordered my grandma's 90th birthday cake from Shirin and were blown away by the beautiful and delicious outcome. Not only did the cake look exactly how we wanted but they were also easy to work with and delivered it perfectly and on time. Will definitely use again and recommend to others.
Flawless design on cakes that are delicious- that's a rare combination but they do it perfectly. I got a yin-yang cake in pink and blue for my gender reveal. White cake with custard and raspberry- it was all eaten with ooo's and ahh's. Total success! Thank you Shirin bakery
I have been ordering costume made cakes from Shirin bakery for 4-5 years now. I'm impressed every single time with how not only beautiful the cakes are made/decorated but also how delicious they are. Nick is very responsive and communicative. He pays attention to what you are looking for and wanting. I highly recommend Shirin bakery!
The bakery was so simple to deal with, I sent a photo of what I wanted, they sent me flavors, and we paid! It was so simple, we did it without a cake tasting because we had an ice cream bar and just more so wanted a small cake for photos but let me tell you the cake was so DELICIOUS, and I'm NOT A CAKE person so that's saying a lot. Whatever you need from catering to a specialty designed cake Shirin Bakery is THE place to go. Better than Porto's even.
WOW! WOW! WOW! I ordered a gradation cake for my niece and it was maybe the best cake we've ever had! I went in and collaborated with Nick on a design, flavor, and they went above and beyond. Everyone absolutely devoured this cake!! And asked for more! Thank you so much Shirin Bakery! Can't wait to order again for our next event!
$550 cake (minus $100 for the owner donating a $100 discount towards our event which was a gala fundraiser for special needs children) After a lot of anticipated excitement, it was a disappointment overall. The owner proposed a two tier fake cake as what you see in the photo, in addition to 2 sheet cakes in red velvet for 100 guests. (I'm sad to say nobody complimented the flavor) This was a very underwhelming display. There were noticeable scuffs on the cake, seemingly unfinished, artificial, and hobby glue of weight, assembly, and appearance. The venue hosting us (just a few miles away) did not take this prop cake seriously to be our proposed centerpiece. (p.s. when wiping off the scuff by hand it was outwardly craft paint stain resin)
After the owner reached out to make things right, he offered to do my son's birthday cake! The experience was seamless and I was so grateful he was so willing to make things right. Beautiful cake that tasted delicious, and with an improved opinion about this small business. I will definitely continue to give them my business
THE bakery for the most beautiful & delicious cakes! I wanted a simple white cake with a sage green bow flowing down from the top and they absolutely nailed it. Most importantly, the texture and taste of their cakes are consistently perfection! Their pistachio rose water & marble with strawberries are my favorite flavors. They also offer delivery to your events at very reasonable prices which is such a relief. Nick was so easy to work with and made the process so smooth. My go to bakery for event cakes :)
Nick and his crew of magicians are something else. We knew that we had to make our one year old's birthday cake an experience, and this team delivered in every possible way. Not only was their design flawless, but the cake itself was delicious! Without hesitation, I recommend anyone to utilize them for your cake needs for any occasion!

This is a new, really adorable, bakery that opened up in Tarzana. They're a Persian bakery but have just about everything. I have tried a few things here. My favorite = the eclair and the CREAM PUFFS (heaven). Oh, and have you heard of Nutella nazooks?! I LOVE that the pastries are not too sweet, they're perfectly light and delicious. Staff is incredible and super sweet! They catered my baby shower before they opened and my guests were going up for seconds and thirds!! Honestly I've never really seen that happen at events before. People were literally using the goodie bags I had originally intended to be used for candy to take home pastries (I had none left at the end of the day). & they also made a cake and cupcakes for my husbands birthday. Our galaxy cake was gorgeous and delicious!! I was a hit! After both events, I had an overwhelming positive response from my guests and I think they got a few orders out of them! Wow, Wow, and Wow!!! If I could give 10 stars I would. I highly recommend this hidden treasure for anyone's cake or dessert needs. I ordered a 'naked' birthday cake from Shirin Bakery on somewhat short notice and they created one the most stunning & delicious cakes I have ever had! The guests at the party were blown away on how light and fresh the cake tasted on top of it being so beautiful. Christine & Nick were incredibly kind, you can tell they truly care for their customers happiness when creating their beautiful cakes and listen to what YOU want. I have found my favorite bakery shop and I can't wait to order more cakes & desserts for future parties/special occasions!! read more

I recently had the best experience with Shirin Bakery. We ordered a two-tiered cake through Nick for our son's 1st birthday party, and Nick who I believe is one of the talented cake decorators was super prompt, gracious and knowledgeable. We were so happy when we saw the Woodland animals cake...it was everything we hoped for and more! And the icing on the top is the cake was not only adorable but also delicious, in fact, our guests kept asking who made it. I was looking for a Game of Thrones cake for my husband's birthday/viewing party so I emailed Shirin Bakery to see if they could do it with a week's notice. Nick got back to me within a day and I was delighted to read his response, which was tailored to sound very medieval "greetings, send a Raven with what design you want, the old gods and the new" Game of Thrones style. I knew I was in good hands immediately. We finalized what I wanted on the phone and I was able to pick it up the day I needed it. Wow. The cake not only looked amazing, but also tasted amazing! Let me just start off by saying BEST! CUSTOMER! SERVICE! I purchased my sons birthday cake from completely somewhere else and let me just say it was TERRIBLE! I was in tears because that's not the type of cake I wanted to present to my guests so I was all over the internet trying to find a perfect baker who would bake my cake at the very last second! THANKFULLY I came across Shirin Bakery and I called and spoke to Nick. Blessed and thankfully he accepted my last minute order and gave me the exact cake I pictured it to be! Not only the cake looked so professional and beautiful the inside was beautiful and delicious as well So thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it. I used to love Shirin Bakery's cakes! They have a plain white cake with strawberry which used to taste like home made cakes! Me and my husbannd loved it, it was not too sweet and was always fresh! Every single occassion in our home we would buy that cake, even for our honey moon I took it with us to our trip. Unfortunately for the last couple of months, either they've changed their baker or recepie tha every time I tried the cake it was not just the same!! First time I thought it might have been there for a while so I didnt give up and I got it for my birthday again but it was not like before at all, again stale and not tasty! I am so sad! Update: Reading reviews here, I decided to contact Nick and explain the situation. I am happy that I did. I told him that I want that strawbery cake for my anniversary for two people I am in doubt to order it to you because of my random experiences, He asked me to give it one more try. He made a beautiful, delicious cake as before, biger than I had requested! And when I wanted to pay he did not accept the money! I told him I hope this meets my high expectations of Shirin Bakery! And sure it did. Moist, delicious and fresh cake like old days! Again I took it to a trip and two days after It is still yummy. Thanks Nick! What a pleasant experience! We live in Glendale and there is an abundance of overrated bakeries around us that were unable to deliver what they promised... my husband insisted that we try Shirin bakery this time since he had their cake at an event and really liked it. Our experience with Shirin bakery was amazing! What a delicious cake! Everyone at the party was asking which bakery baked our cake. And the design was exactly what we asked for and more. When you discover a gem bakery like this one on ventura blvd thats not stuffy overpriced or overrated you have a duty to tell your fellow yelpers how incredible this place is. I love the decor, the atmosphere is great and the customer service is top notch. I called my order in ahead and was happily greeted when I walked in. The Nutella and Custard stuffed ponchik is a must order. I called mine in ahead and I know they appreciate the heads up but Im sure in a pinch they would meet and exceed your expectations. I love the cookies and they have a large variety of other sweets. I was told to try the cheesecake and I am happy to report I was Not disappointed. Please do yourself a favor and stop in, even if its just a coookie...I bet you'll be back. read more

There aren't enough stars on yelp that could accurately describe how incredible Shirin Bakery truly is. I am beyond grateful for Nick and his team for going above and beyond every step of the way beginning from our consultation. Nick and his team made us the most magical wedding cake that was everything I had envisioned and more. When it came to my wedding cake design, I had no idea what I wanted and the more cakes I saw on Instagram, the more confused I got. Luckily, with Nick's creativity, he was able to design a cake during our consultation that was so beautiful and chic, I didn't even have to think twice about it. Choosing vendors for your wedding can be scary, that's why I recommend Nick because he is so patient and most importantly trustworthy, you can rely on him to fulfill any request that you have, and there won't be any unpleasant surprises. When it came down to choosing flavors for the cake, I trusted him fully and went with the three flavors that he recommended. Each flavor was so delectable, rich and moist. My guests were in awe from my amazing and delicious cake. I got so many compliments. Shirin bakery is my go to bakery for all of my occasions and festivities. No need to go anywhere else! Nick is a cake designing magician in the San Fernando valley. I had my engagement cake and a 60th birthday cake made here (two months apart)a Prices are reasonable and the quality of work is second to none. I was really late to the game ordering my engagement cake and ordered the other specialty cake last minute too.Nick took the orders and made it happen knowing how important both events were to me. I can't say how many compliments I received on both cakes. The burger cake that was ordered has fresh strawberries and it was fresh and delicious. My engagement cake was probably the best marble cake I've ever had. Nick will definitely be our go to for every event. This place is awesome! I've ordered specialty cakes on a few occasions for special events, and I always used the same place. I had no idea what a hassle it was, until I came to Shirin Bakery. I needed two cakes, kind of short notice (7 days before the event), for my dad and my nieces birthday. I called my usual place, I had to email them what I wanted, and they said that they couldn't do it because I had to order two weeks in advance. I get that it might have been a busy week for them, but they still make it a hassle with the overall process, even when ordering weeks in advance. I called Shirin, I had never been there, but I followed them on Instagram. Nick made it so easy, had me send him pics of what I was interested in, he gave me a quote almost immediately, and worked with me on budget. When I went in to pay to the actual place is so charming. The cakes were delicious and almost identical to what I asked for. Honestly, thank you Nick and the rest of the team, I'll definitely be back! First stumbled across Shirin Bakery while walking around town and grabbed a few desserts to try out. We became loyal customers after that, so naturally, when it was our daughter's first birthday, we had the opportunity to have one of Nick's cakes. We had a Winter One-derland theme and he not only helped design the cake, but was professional and thoughtful with his work. Stopped by to pick up some pastries for the parents with a sweet tooth and boy, were we all pleased! Got a box with a huge assortment and it was a hit! Family-owned business that offers high quality pastries at very affordable prices. Excellent customer service. Great selection of cakes, pies, cookies...you name it. They make their own whipped cream and custards and have a strong commitment to fresh, quality ingredients. Great spot to stop by for a coffee and dessert. If you're planning an event like a wedding, birthday, or shower, I would highly recommend checking them out. Personal favorites: Latifeh (basically a Persian twist on your traditional whoopie pie), wedding cookies, eclairs (!!!!!), cookies with jam (yum!) I had the most memorable experience with Nick. From the moment I walked in to place an order I felt very confident in my choice, which was a major deal given that I was ordering a cake from a place that a. I found on yelp and had never ordered from and b. It was going to be a present that was going to be unveiled in front of 100 people and there was no room for error. The cake looked fabulous in person! I was left feeling good with my choice which were confirmed with the guests asking about the bakery and the birthday boys face when he saw his prized passion recreated into a cake. We went on several cake tasting adventures before we chose Nick and Shirin Bakery to make our wedding cake. His cakes were by far the most delicious, beautiful and affordable that we tried. We got a naked Raspberry cake with a cream cheese filling, Raspberry drizzle and a vanilla cream frosting. Honestly, it was the best cake we had ever had and our guests raved about it. Our caterer was so impressed with the cake that she has now decided to use Shirin for all of their weddings. Nick and his mother are simply the best. It's obvious they love what they do because you can see and taste that love in their creations. I can't say enough about them. Hands down one of the best experiences I have had ordering a custom cake! I was beyond surprised at the timely response to my Instagram dm! I happened to be requesting some quotes and bouncing ideas off other bakers. And Out of all honesty they were the only ones who responded in a timely manner (and I mean within maybe 1-2hours), some never even responded at all and if they did it was about a week later! I felt like I found a diamond in the rough here!! After bouncing some great ideas back and forth I set up an appointment to meet in person which also was great communication and client experience. I drove for 45 min on my only day off to meet with them cause that's how comfortable they made me feel! Most importantly they are so close to the 101 freeway that finding there location is super easy and I got street parking right out front. I was a little hesitant when I first pulled up cause I noticed the windows all covered up with paper (then it did dawn on me that they did mention a remodel of the store)... another great plus, I was granted first looks of the new set up which is pretty gorgeous!! I can't wait to share the finale looks of my "horror movie cake" and also I am highly considering them for me upcoming nuptials!! Last but not least aside from design, their cakes actually are very delicious and moist!!!! read more

Shirin Bakery was referred to us by another bakery who was not able to do our cake for us. I hadn't heard of Shirin Bakery, so I was a bit skeptical at first. We met Nick when we went in for our cake tasting. He was a hit with us from the start! First, I loved the fact that we were able to do the cake tasting in person. The cakes were delicious. We naturally liked some flavors over others. Nick listened to my very specific cake detail requests with such ease. I was that annoying picky customer, but he was super patient with me. He worked with me in understanding my style and the small details I was looking for. He got me right away. Nick was nice enough to personalize my cake flavors even more! We were trying to choose between two awesome bakeries for the final decision. In the end, we decided to go with Shirin Bakery ultimately because of Nick! I knew both bakeries would delivery a delicious and beautiful cake, but honestly I loved Nick's attitude. He was the person I wanted to work with during my crazy wedding planning months. He delivered and came through! We were SOOO happy with our cake! He put so much time and effort into our design and got it exactly how we wanted. The cake was delicious! My mom first discovered this bakery on Instagram from a celebrity's post. Their custom cakes are gorgeous! I assumed they'd be pricey but when I called them to get some quotes for my sons birthday I was pleasantly surprised that their prices are very fair. It's important to order a custom cake ahead of time. Not only are they beautiful but also delicious, which is very hard to find. The cake they did for my mom's 60th Birthday was absolutely yummy! The owners and staff are very professional, kind and personable. If your cake is large or small, they give you the attention you need. Their website and social media accounts are great to navigate which help you in deciding what kind of cake you want for your event! Lastly, their daily sweets are amazing. From the cookies to the Napoleon cake, I can't get enough! This bakery really is our go to for anything sweet! read more
