I wore them so much that the rubber soles began peeling away only a few years into owning them, and I've kept them in my shoe closet for maybe about 9 years since. I finally decided to look into getting them repaired. Michael had done such a wonderful job with replacing my worn-out nomasei moccasin soles, that I came back to see if he could revive my sandals. The new soles he put on have more traction and are much better quality than the original soles, and I'm thrilled to that my shoes that I'm quite sentimental about can be worn again. Thanks Michael!

As you might expect from anything inside a subway station, it's a little grimy in here. It's a tiny little hallway of a shop, it's wildly crowded with all sorts of shoe paraphernalia, and it looks more like a hoarder's closet than a place of business. Surprisingly enough, there are actually TWO businesses working out of this tiny space. There's a Chinese guy repairing watches, and also a Hispanic dude repairing shoes. I have yet to get my watch repaired here, but I can report that the proprietor of the shoe repair shop (not sure if his name is Pyon) takes pride in his work. He took my old, broken down boots, and resoled them wonderfully. Check out the before/after photos. He even shined them up, AND switched out my old grimy laces. I don't think that's standard, they probably just offended his sensibilities. In any case, my boots look like new now, and while it wasn't exactly cheap, I'm grateful for the quality work. I'll be back.

The leather soles were cracked on both shoes, cracked beyond repair. I thought he should just toss them (or chuck them - see what I did there). But...Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, so.... $45 bucks later and the chukka boots were brought back from the dead! This little wonder of a shop reconstructed them and they now have a whole new life. So. He was stand offish at first, but I was friendly and polite and he cracked a smile quickly. My boots were ready on time, and the repair was very well done, for $40.
