Took a while but did a masterful job on my son's fancy sneakers. Really grateful to have this place in the neighborhood

I've never taken a pair of shoes to a cobbler before so I was quite fearful of the prices.

Paul is a wonderful, professional, responsive and caring guy that just wants to do a good job and…read moredo it well. I found him thanks to Yelp, and noticed he was local to my home and quickly reached out regarding my unfavorable damage to my vintage LV wallet. This 2004 coin purse wallet combo has seen better days, and when my wallet was rejected for repairs from the original source, I didn't want to give up on it. Paul asked me to send pictures of the damages so he could quote me properly due to the amount of work involved. We agreed on a price and even the amount I had to leave for deposit wasn't an issue. He wanted to make sure that I would trust his judgement and value his work. Paul said to give him a week and he delivered it to me in 5 days time! Be sure to always ask him what the store hours are, as he unfortunately is experiencing flood damages to his work space. How he was still able to fix this wallet for me in such dire conditions, I'll never know. He's chatty and friendly, and could use more foot traffic as this kind of work is clearly dying in the industry. He seamless repaired my coin purse compartment that kept leaking coins all over my bag, as well as the bills compartment that was fatigued. The work is perfect; beat that 5th ave! If you have a beloved leather good or wallet like me, be sure to reach out to Paul. I know that I will have this wallet for many more years to come!

Went home and called the shop at ~1:30pm. Owner answered in Russian asking me why I didn't call him - as if the shop only opens when a customer calls - and why I didn't deposit my boots in a locked box at the entrance. I'm not about to leave my boots not knowing if they are repairable! I asked if the shop open now - was told to call back at ~2:30pm. I called at 2:42pm, didn't recognize the voice who answered, asked again if the shop is open - in English - and got yelled at for speaking English! Was told not to play games (!) and not to be rude (for speaking English!). Naturally, I hang up and will not place any orders with this so called business. PS. Seeing response to my review insulting me for trying to give them business confirms this is a nasty place, totally unprofessional. I do NOT recommend anyone to deal with them, ever!

So far, there is nothing that they can't fix. I find the prices reasonable, but note that they charge a fee for using your credit card.

I came into this store based on reviews and wanted to do a pretty much a full restoration on a small crossbody vintage Dior bag which included replacing the interior leather, strap adjustment and full cleaning of the entire bag. The gentleman in the front kindly verbally quoted me $320. But when I had ask him to write it down on a paper (because I haven't made the decision yet), he wrote $330. That was my first red flag but I chose to ignore it because it's only $10. I came back in for the second time ready to commit, he pulled up my account and said he previous quoted me $380. I told him no, you quoted me low $300. After negotiating, he was able to take in my bag for all my repairs for $300. Right before I left, I specifically asked him if they were going to replace the exterior lining (the part that holds the bag together). He said no and I was ok with that. Literally the next day, he calls me and says they have to charge me $600 to do the job and now they have to replace the exterior lining. Which completely boggles my mind because why didn't you tell me this the day I paid and when I asked? It didn't make sense to me on how is the exterior lining is $300 more when it's $300 itself for interior leather replacement, adding strap adjustments, AND full deep cleaning. How is it $300 for minimal material and for it to get stitched? I also asked how much it'll be to do the strap adjustment over the phone (literally adding a clip on my bag for my chain strap) & cleaning - he said it'll cost $200 for those two jobs. That's averaging $100 just to add 2 rings to a bag... It didn't sit right with me. I asked him to give me the full breakdown of their prices per job and he wasn't able to. He said it was all in the computer but refused to show me how much I would be paying PER JOB. I will never be coming back here again and am extremely disappointed with this type of customer service they provide. If you are the owner of this store and read my post, please go back to camera footage and you will see and hear him tell me inconsistent prices for the last few visits I was there. I don't normally write Yelp reviews but this situation was too outrageous to stay silent. Thank you for wasting my time coming back and forth here. If the gentleman was unsure of the answer to my question the first time around, don't let me pay until he knows for sure. Because you're wasting my timing traveling back and forth to get this repair done. Never had I ever went to a shop that charges me one price then doubled the next day. Unbelievable.
