I had a really bad experience at the Shoe Palace Serramonte location. I bought a pair of shoes that were supposed to be brand new, but when I got home and opened the box there was visible mold inside and on the shoes. That's honestly a health hazard -- not just a small defect. No one should be paying full price for something stored like that. The disappointing part is Serramonte didn't really help resolve the situation properly. I had to go out of my way to the Stonestown location, and thankfully the staff there handled the return professionally and took it seriously. They were respectful and understanding, which I appreciated. So shoutout to the Stonestown team for fixing a problem they didn't cause -- but Serramonte really needs better inventory storage and inspection before selling items to customers. Definitely check your shoes carefully before leaving this store. read more

Took my son to get a pair of high-tops today. While he's not into them, we needed to buy him a pair to help him realign his walking gait. His PT wants him wearing them because they restrict the ankle movement. Anyway, not too bad of an experience. The one thing I will say about the young lady employee that helped us...it's clear she's received ZERO customer service training. But, she was still amazing. What she lacked in selling skill, she made up for it with a very friendly attitude and a true eagerness to help. The reason they only get 4 stars today is that when we first went into the store, I tried to find a foot measuring tool, but couldn't find one. When I went to the register to ask if they had them, the response I got was one where the message was basically, "No, why would we have those?" While it was sort of funny, it was also a bit annoying as I wanted to make sure we got him the right size. Anyway, it was a pretty good experience and we were able to get a pair of shoes he's happy with. read more

This is normally not the location I go to, but I was in the area. When you walk in you're instantly greeted. I was looking for some shoes for my bf as his bdays coming up. Shoe palace always has such a wide selection! Not only was I greeted instantly, but I was approached and asked if I needed any assistance. Based on my interactions at other stores, it felt as though customer service had been lost. I feel like I have to run around and chase an employee for help. Not here! Here you are given proper attention and treated respectfully. The music and energy was great! Not only do you get to shop but you can vibe while you do it. If I could give zero stars, that's what this store deserves. The front cashier had a NOW HIRING sign with a list of qualifications, which also required being professional and helping customers. And the list goes on. Funny thing is NONE of these workers have any of these qualifications. They just hire any one at this point, and all the females had a attitude for no reason. Just quit at this rate. One guy was helpful with grabbing us a pair. As soon as we went to the cashier another guy helped us. 3 females were standing by doing nothing. Something that should've been quick and professional. We were irritated the entire time because these people had some dead energy. If you're unhappy, work from home. I called in because after using a new pair of reebok classics for a day, i noticed there was a weird bump on the inner sole causing discomfort. I called SP Daly City to let them know it wasn't fitting well and hurt. The person who answered said they couldn't help and if they see no defect they can't do anything. I said if they could do something for me because as a customer it didn't work out and was not comfortable. Located in good ol' Serramonte... Selection was good. Lots of sneakers in every size and style. Staff was super cool, too and was a pleasure to talk to. We dont have many Shoe Palaces in Southern California so its always good to go and visit one when I'm back home in the San Francisco area. They had a sale currently going on with Nike Elite socks which are always nice. Good selection on 49ers gear which is always a good thing. I also saw some Michael Jordan collectible figures which I've only ever seen online and in photos. I will for sure check them out again the next time I'm in Daly City. read more

I don't recommend shopping here. I tried to make a return with the original receipt with unworn shoes and they said since it was the 15th day since the purchase was made so they could not accept the return. I asked for store credit which is written on the receipt but they said they don't offer store credit even though it says so on the receipt. Which I told them and they said something about how that is wrong on the receipt. I definitely will not be shopping with them again. The manager here does not LISTEN to the wants of the customer. The sales rep did his best but couldnt help me which is why I asked for the manager, a Filipino guy with tattoos. The manager felt like I was bothersome to him because I was looking for Glow in Dark shoes and he was persuading me to buy something different. Walk into this store last week to make a simple exchange on a pair of shoes. First wait about 5 minutes until someone approaches me and let them know i want to exchange since they do not accept returns or refunds. Then the cashier (with tons of attitude) asks which shoe i wanted to exchange. I told him that the other employee is getting it. Long story short, 15 minutes later he starts to ring me up and throws my receipt in the bag. 20 mins total in that store with only 2 other customers browsing around. Awful customer service! I recently purchased a pair if Nike Pegasus running shoes from this store. At the time of purchasing the shoes on 1/25/2016 I asked the sales person what their return policy was. I was told if the shoes didn't work out I could bring them back for a new pair or full exchange so long as I had the receipt. The next day after the purchase I tried the shoes on, in my home, and wore them around the house for about 15 minutes when I noticed the toe area of the shoe began to cave in and dimple. I recognized this to be a defect in the product and took the shoes off, again only having worn them 15 minutes in home and not even going outside! On 1/29/2016 I returned to the store and attempted to simply exchange my defective product with a new product. After speaking with the manager she told me I would not be able to exchange the shoes because "you said you wore them". I attempted to tell this person that the shoes had only been worn in my home and only for 15 minutes, however at that point she stopped listening to me and told me I'd have to go through Nike to exchange my shoes. She then gave me the corporate number, which according to the Shoe Palace website is actually their fax number. I am so completely disheartened by how I was treated and how easily dismissed I was by this store. I'm also extremely frustrated as a customer because it now seems the burden is on me to replace a defective product this store sold me. Nowhere on the receipt does it state "shoes must NOT be worn" for a return. The receipt simply states "All product must be in New Condition with Original Box, Tags." which they were. I've never had such a bad experience at a shoe store anywhere! To not take back a defective product and then put all the responsibility on the customer is completely ridiculous. Not to mention the store not living up to their word, which is printed on the receipt. Never going here again. read more
