I went in looking for a pair of "skate shoes" - I don't even know what that means, but I know my 12 year old nephew wants some sort of skater shoe for Christmas. The manager was really helpful and friendly, despite my ignorance of all things related to men's shoes. They even let me take photos of the shoes on my phone and send them to the kid's mom to get a second opinion. I did some research at other stores and online, because I was not ready to buy yet, and found that their prices are very reasonable for DC, DVS, and Etnies shoes (which is, apparently, what was meant by "skate shoes"). Bought a pair of basketball shoes and wore them once indoors at 24hour fitness. My toes blistered up because it wasn't the right fit, so I brought them back to exchange 5 days later. Had Luis take care of me, he said they couldn't take them back because they were "worn", aka light dust on the sole of the shoe and the cheap sizing sticker in the shoe was faded... otherwise in pristine shape. My go-to shoe store in the mall. They have everything you need from infant to adult , casual or sport , etc. The associates are always friendly and helpful without being annoying. There is a small selection of apparel and accessories or match your new kicks, but not a lot. It's easy to miss this place tucked in the corner of the mall, upstairs next to Macy's. They've never let me down when I wanted a shoe on a release date; sometimes I have to enter a raffle or usually they have enough of my size to get what I want. read more

Saw all of the young teens and 20 somethings inside the store and immediately had some misgivings. Entered anyway and found a pair of Timberlanes I wanted to try on. I was given ONE shoe to try on, ONE!! Made a fuss and was given the other shoe. Tried them on and decided to purchase. The salesman stated the shoes cost $139. The cashier rung me up and stated the final cost was $209. I asked why such a large discrepancy and he replied the shoes basic price was 189, not 139 and since I wore a size 12 I had to pay more for an uncommonly large shoe size. I fell out laughing and refused to pay the $209. The cashier then said, " okay, how about $163?" I was stunned!!! Now we are negotiating the price??? This didn't seem right nor legal to me and I left the store. Will NOT go there again and will encourage everyone I know NOT to shop there. First off, I was never a big Shoe guy or "Sneaker head" most of the time i settle for a good skater shoe for the simple fact that they are nice and cheep. Second off, I am in no way a Mall person, I'd much rather stay away from that sheeple place and spend my money locally at Unitedstate or havoc. but none the less you gotta get your kicks somewhere right?. So i sucked it up and went to the Arden fair mall and came across Shoe Palace, the name sounds familiar so i thought I'd try anything other than a bland place like foot locker. To my surprise the place was legit. they had a huge selection of kicks from Jordan's, DC, DVS, Chucks, Puma's and so on. With all the great selection of shoes they have my only worries were "Damn i hope they have my size" If your anything like me, you know how hard it is to find a good pair of shoes in size 14. So i was greeted by a nice cat and as always they ask if they can help you with anything. so i looked over and said "well yea but i am looking for a size 14 shoe and i bet the only ones you have are skater shoes right". to my surprise he told me that they actually have a section just for size 14's.....WHAT!?!?! The dude went to the back room and came out with about 6-8 boxes of shoes and said here ya go, check an see if you like any of these. I started to take a look and they had some real clean shows in a 14, a pair of all white Jordan's, classic puma's, some Nike's and some sick ass Nike Air Max 2009's. so i tried some on and when i got to the 3rd pair being the AM 2009's i fell in love!. they are the best shoe i have ever felt! The staff could see that look in my eye and saw how happy i was with them. they were telling me how if you stand on your feet for hours at a time, they are the only way to go. all i could say was "F**k yeah". I told them that i DJ and how i am always on my feet, so you could imagine how excited i was to find a pair of shoes like these. A member of their staff told me that when ever i need shoes, just to come by and they will hook me up and bring me out the best size 14's they have to try on. This is HUGE to me, i been to many places and when you even ask to see a shoe in your size most people act like it's a pain in the ass just to go check for you. Bought a t-shirt worth $30 dollars for my son. After shopping through a couple clothing store my so decided to return that shirt. Before we went back inside Shoe Palace, I check the receipt was there. When I hand the bag to the young hispanic lady, she took the shirt out and put the bag away. During that transition, the receipt disappear which I believed she hidden the receipt to prevent a refund. Awful customer service. They We're more then happy to sell me a pair of shoes but after I brought them back because they only had 10 and paying 200 for a pair shoes that didn't really fit wasn't worth it, they became extremely rude. Talked down towards me and also acted like I was wasting their time. It's been almost a week and my refund still hasn't been issued. So the kid wanted shoes for his bday. We looked all over the place and found what he wanted at this place...Shoe Palace at Arden mall. It was very crowded and took a while to get help. Finally after an eternity, someone assisted us. Once we were helped, things went quick. The lady was apologetic for the wait, and I get it. Everybody needs shoes. But let me tell you, the place wreaked of marijuana. Apparently people don't know they stink. Oh well...that's California's liberal stupid law. Sorry for the political rant. First and most importantly: They do NOT accept returns. Only exchanges. I picked out 5 different shoes to try on, and they didn't have my size in any of them. These were pretty basic shoes, too. Maybe this place is better for some of the unique shoes they carry? If you want something standard, I would consider another store. This review is for the day that the mall was closed due to a fight in the food court when people claimed they heard a "gun shot". I'd like to say that the employee's working that day did a great job on bringing their customers to safety and safely bringing us to an exit. I was looking at a pair of shoes when I heard a bunch of commotion and people started running. I had no idea what was going on, so my first instinct was to get my girl who was standing on the other side of the sales floor. The employee's immediately told the customers inside to stand back and they closed the doors within seconds of everything happening. They then immediately brought us to the back of the store's inventory room for the back exit. My shopping experience at the shoe palace has always been terrible, the workers are always on their phones and they just tell lies to us customers about exclusive shoe releases. For example, today I called about an hour or so ago to ask if they had any raffles for the clay green air Jordan ones and they told me that they had the raffle going on till today and so when I showed up person I asked about the raffle and they told me that it was already done yesterday and that if I want to get a pair I need to come to first come first serve tomorrow. Another thing as well it was when I walked in the store the workers were on their phones and not paying attention. As my boyfriend and I were walking out of the store day then started smerking and laughing at us for asking about the raffle. And this is not just happened once, we have had many personal bad experiences with exclusive shoe releases. I would like to talk to corporate. We stopped by Shoe Palace in Arden Mall to buy a pair of Supra Vaider Gunny's for my niece that she's had her eyes on. Customer service is superb, they greet you when you walk in and they had someone right over to help us immediately. We found the ones she wanted and got the right size (they were $20 less than other places we looked at). We were in and out the store in less than five minutes...love it! read more

BEWARE: There is no refund, no exchange whatsoever if you buy your shoes here then find any kind of problem with them later as you wear them. They accept returns if and only if the shoes are UNWORN!!! What kind of return policy is that???? When it comes to copping exclusive sneakers and stores being shady this is another of them. Went in for first come first serve release since the raffle was apparently rigged and asked one of the employees (white guy with long beard) what sizes they had left. This was at 10am by the way so they should had a full size and first he said none. Then he said there was a raffle and that they haven't announced it yet. Then I asked if this would be the pickup location and he said yea meaning that obviously they had a full size run left. So I go to shoe palace and I notice some adidas that I like. Thinking that the shoe was on sale and my brother and I's birthday had recently passed, I purchased a pair for me and two for my brother. Upon finding out that I actually paid retail price, I took them back for a refund. I called in advance to make sure that I could return the shoes to my nearest shoe palace and confirmed with the manager that any shoe palace would accept my returns, as long as they weren't worn. When I get to the Arden shoe palace, I was met with very smug remarks about reselling, that I should've returned them to the original store, and that "I must have a big family" from one of the employees. When I said excuse me to the employee, he responded and said, "oh nothing." I'm not sure what you're doing in terms of customer service training but it isn't working clearly. In my experience, when I find a pair that I really like, I'll buy a few pairs, especially when I believe that they were on discount. Although I like to give the benefit of the doubt, unfortunately that's how both of the employees acted when I made a return so it's not just one person having a bad day. Ultimately, I was able to make the return after being talked down to and made to feel uncomfortable even when I followed policy. Needless to say, you lost a customer and I will be telling my friends about my experience. read more

We waited in line for more then 4 hours to get shoes and we saw people going in the store and leaving with the shoes we were trying to get mostly young kids so I decided to go check to see whats going on and what I found out I couldnt believe I saw people giving employees cash to get the shoes. I saw this more then once so I decided to go check it out and the kid said oh I dont know what your talking about sir and I said sure you don't but I saw you take cash and get shoes for that guy. How could they be so oblivious. I then was practically harassed by some little girl every 5 minutes to see if I was "ready to check out" like NO LADY I WILL GO TO THE REGISTER WHEN I AM READY. DUMMY. Rude ass girls who have no customer service! I asked if I could get a size 9 in t imberlands and she said just try on the display. I said I want a fresh pair because people stretch out the display shoe and she said ok and walks to the back. I wait 10 to 15 minutes and I ask the cashier if she's still helping me. Guess what? She forgot about me and another girl comes and brings me the wrong shoe. And I ask her can I please get a size 9 in this color please. She said thats the only one they have. Their attitude was terrible. She had an ugly ass nose ring on which didnt look cute on her at all. No wonder they are all stuck up and unprofessional they get paid minimum wage.
