I must say, I am quite impressed. I have been to a few Hibachi places in my day....and they always leave me yearning for more. Hibachi has always been like bad dinner theatre for me. But, I am happy to say that Shogun has changed my view of Hibachi. It has made me a true believer that shrimp flying through the air and onion volcanos CAN change the world. The decor of this place is truly top notch. Take a peek at the photos that I posted. Really, they didn't skimp with the design. Great fit and finishes. Love the black contrasted with bright red. It really gives it a certain flair. The bamboo centerpiece (where the host stand is) really is cool too. Kudos Shogun! I gotta say....the Sushi bar is quite small. And there is a reason why. I have eaten a lot of Sushi in my day....and while this Sushi wasn't the WORST I have ever had, it was definitely not the best. Spicy tuna, spicy salmon, macho man and California roll are what we got. It was all very underwhelming. Granted the sushi was an after thought and NOT the reason we came....I definitely would not recommend it nor would I get it again. All the staff here was an absolute pleasure. From the host to the server to our HILARIOUS Hibachi chef. Dude was funny, no joke. A good chef makes the entire Hibachi experience that much better! Very relatable and great skills. The Hibachi food itself was really really good. We got filet mignon, shrimp and chicken. I have to say, the portions were a little small in the meat department. But, the flavor was absolutely spot on and the cook on the meats was PERFECT. Everything was tender and juicy and ready lickity split! Each meal comes with soup, salad, noodles, appetizer shrimp (which we never got), noodles and rice (we upgraded to fried rice.) Every one of these things were very very good. The broth of the soup was dark and flavorful, the dressing on the salad was sweet and spicy, noodles were perfectly cooked and flavored to a T and the fried rice was simply stated but very good. On top of it all, this place was super clean and organized. Seriously, even the exhaust fan hoods were spotless....a true indicator of a clean establishment. Overall, this experience was more than favorable and we will definitely be back. Sans the Sushi and high hopes that we get our appetizer shrimp!

Very easy location to find off Hwy exit, parking open right by door. Interior is chic and modern with clean design elements and avoids the loudness problem found at other Akron area hibachis. Big, spacious tables that accommodated three kids, two in high chairs, and three adults with tons of elbow room. And we could hear each other! Staff was friendly and service quick. We didn't have to wait for table to fill to be served! Soup is good but salad disappointed- ginger dressing had no flavor. Chef had all the tricks and put on a great show! Egg tricks, volcano etc. Food was plentiful in portion and well seasoned. We all got so full!

Shogun is a lesson in great service. Our waiter, Ferry, was so sweet and really bent over backwards to provide us with an amazing experience. He poured our soy sauce, plated the side bowl of steamed rice, and boxed our leftovers for us, always with a smile. He always asked us to pardon his reach and thanked us at every chance. There is so much food included with the hibachi dinner that the price is worth it. Included with the meal is your choice of protein, a rice side, a noodle side, shrimp, salad, and soup. I normally don't eat the soup at hibachi places but this soup was delicious. Our chef was quick, entertaining, and humorous. It was an excellent experience in a beautiful, clean restaurant.

I usually sit on the Traditional side so I don't have to wait long to be seated. The waiter was nice and friendly. I didn't have to wait long for my beverages and appetizers. I had a Shrimp Tempura Roll that was delicious and fresh. The salad and soup was okay. Both tasted more bland than usual. My drink was delicious (couldn't remember the name of it). I had chicken and shrimp for my meal. The portions were decent and I enjoyed their service. CATCHING UP ON MY REVIEWS THIS WAS FROM 2/4/16

Service could have been better. Food was average- a little on the salty side. Prices typical.

She got a roll and I got two (salmon and sunset). Both were good! I wouldn't order the sunset roll again as the black pepper tuna was a little spicy for me, but the quality of everything was great. The salmon quality was awesome-- much better than usual smoked salmon. The fish was in big chunks and had a buttery texture. My only complaint is that the menu description was wrong and it said the salmon roll came with cream cheese (I know that's usually a Philadelphia roll, but that one had no description and the salmon roll said cream cheese, so i went with it.) Their spicy mayo was great! Prices were "normal" for sushi. Food was ready quickly.

They seemed a little short staffed considering their small dining area was full and had a steady flow of dine-in guests as well as a very busy takeout flow. Service wasn't very attentive. It was a cold/snowy evening and because of the constant stream of takeout orders the temperature inside the small space was either very hot or very cold. The food was good, though! We had the spicy kani salad, edamame, and four rolls. All were fresh and tasted good. This seems like a solid spot for takeout but not a place I make the trip to dine-in for.

The customer service was amazing as well and they were very helpful and they were extremely quick I ate there and I think I waited maybe 5 minutes for my Ramen. The price of the food is also amazing for my Ramen and diet pepsi it came out to under 15.00. And you get alot of food. The ambiance of the store was decent I think they took over where Jimmy johns used to be at because they are located in between play it again sports and Panera Bread. I did enjoy all of the decor though. Overall this place is amazing and I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back.

I liked how much food you got and how you had a few options to choose from. Food: * pineapple passion mojito - 5/5 absolutely DELICIOUS. It was a perfect drink to have with dinner. It was light and refreshing with just enough sweetness. * chicken and pork bao - 4/5 super yummy! I actually liked the pork more than the chicken. It was almost like a buttery taste. It was soft and the meat just fell apart. The chicken was good too but was more on the tough side, probably because it was fried. * spicy beef ramen - 5/5 I will absolutely be back to get this again. Just the right level of spice. All the ingredients were fresh, well made, and delicious. It's the type of food that you can't help eating more of even though you're beyond full. * crispy chicken ramen - 3.5/5 This was still a good choice! I loved the chicken in it. I think this is a very safe choice for anyone who might be on the more picky side. The broth was good but not spicy. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place! When getting carried out they packed the ingredients separately from the broth which I loved. We got the spicy on the side and I was so glad we did because in my opinion it packed heat. We both said both broths felt rushed. They weren't really savory and tasted bland, and underdeveloped. It has a good beginning/starting flavor but should have shimmered longer. Not the best ramen or worst ramen. Simply in the middle. We ordered carry out so I can't speak to the service or overall atmosphere. The restaurant was clean inside and front cashiers were nice! The hibachi chef leaned hard on a pee joke. One of those bits that might land with an eight year old but just kills the energy for everyone else at the table as everyone was 30+. Hibachi entertainment lives and dies on the performer and this one phoned it in. The food itself is bland compared to what the area offers. Edamame in Medina and Umami in Cuyahoga Falls are operating at a noticeably higher level on flavor. The only thing wasabi has on them is watching a guy cook. When local competitors outpacing this place, it's hard to justify the trip. Oh, and the floor was so greasy the chairs were sliding around throughout the meal. Not exactly a confidence booster when the restaurant should be clean. Even less of a booster when your party has 2 people using walkers and another 2 limited in movement.
