Honestly I probably overdid and over-ordered. This spot has been on my list of Vegas places to try for awhile. Luckily I was in the area and took advantage. I was a walk in on an early Saturday afternoon. Luckily was seated immediately. There are plenty of tasty things to try on the menu. I settled on the following: the Curry-age Rice Bowl, Edamame, Crispy Beef, and Da Oxtail. Boy oh boy there were no regrets. Having just came back from Japan in April, the curry melted in my mouth. I ordered a very simple yellow noodle, vegan broth, with corn, red ginger, and green onions. The ramen comes with fried onions on top. The waitstaff is pretty attentive. They got me seated quickly. Been seeing this restaurant pop up on my social media feeds and decided to give it a try. Started off with chicken karaage, crispy beef and drowning gyoza. Karaage had good flavor and texture. Same went for the beef. The gyoza tasted like the frozen store bought stuff you can get from the Asian market. For my main entree, I did the Shinigami ramen. This is where they lost me. I would call the char siu average. It was a nice thick cut but the flavor was underwhelming and it was in the drier side for texture. The broth was really watery and flavorless. They also added tons of black garlic oil and it was bitter and overpowering. I was tasting bitter garlic the rest of the night. My friend had the peanut and eggplant ramen and he also said the broth was bland. I'm wondering if they're just using packet broth and jazzing it up with other things to mask the lack of quality? My friends and I had a reservation to a different cafe but we were very early and quite hungry. We were told China Town has good food spots. We walked to china town from where we were. We finally got to China Town and started looking at all the different places. We all thought this place sounded good so we walked in. We were warmly welcomed by the server and he seated us. Once again during the winter season the cold air around you can be chilling and full of freezing moments the likes of bone chilling, even for the desert life of Las Vegas. Be never fear, Ramen shops are everywhere! Thus, we found a ramen shop, Shokku Ramen, that provides that warmth and fuzziness to keep the body all snuggly warm again. For a party of 5, the wait was roughly 20 minutes, exactly 20 minutes to the time. They will take your number down and will text you when the table is ready. Expecting a pager/beacon; not here. Get that mobile phone ready for the waitlist. This is exactly in favor of the patrons because you can shop and visit other stores and still be able to receive a text of status. 10 tables with one sided booths, 7 tables stand-alone seating up to 4, and 9 barstool individual seatings, in front of the chef's kitchen area. Once seated we saw that there was QR codes on the table that one could scan and place orders. Conveniently, our lively waitress was able to provide us with a paper menu and proceeded to get drinks for us. Tonkatsu Ramen with all the usual fixings was decided for everyone. Some requested a few more CharSu Pork while some got extra side items like corn and onions. Either way, it was going to be a delicious Ramen time! In addition to the Ramen, we also ordered a side dish of their Drowned Gyoza! No more than 15 mins later after placing the order, the Gyoza and the Ramen all came out. Steaming and aromatic, you can see how the Ramen was fixed up and presented for consumption. First order of business was tasting the broth. The flavor was so overwhelming savory and delicious, I didn't even bother to add anything extra. It was almost perfect the way it was served. Next time we are in town and in Chinatown district, we will need to try all of the other great things on this menu. Prices could be a bit touristy-like, but that's understandable. It's Vegas-baby!! Comfort food, close to other shops and stores nearby, and not too far from the strip, I'm recommend this place to everyone look for good Ramen! read more

this has been my favorite Ramen place in Vegas to go to for the past several years. They are open basically 24/7. All the food is hot and fresh and the service was great even though it was packed with 16 top table next to us our server "Mark" was handling a lot of tables at once but we still got attention which is alway important to us. Mark was very knowledgeable about the menu which helped. I've been there 1 million times but my friend was new so she asked him a bunch of questions, so it's good to know a server who actually knew the menu. The atmosphere is black-and-white anime with TVs playing anime on silent with an open kitchen view, with counter solo seating as well as booths/tables. I am a regular there but my guest was a newbie and she loved it. I try to bring new people there as much as I can since we have so many tourists in Vegas. My favorite and it's open 24/7! Shokku is in Spring Mountain - in the same strip mall as Mas Por Favor, Golden Tiki, and Lee's Sandwiches. Parking can be annoying at times but that isn't anything new when going to Spring Mountain. The restaurant is cute is decorated with anime/j-pop/video game themed art and collectibles. Their menu offers signature ramen bowls, a "build your own" option, and small plates (non ramen) too! My favorite is their tonkotsu broth and I will get it either with a signature ramen or build my own. They have zero calorie noodle as an option which I really love because then I can still enjoy ramen when I am trying to cut back on eating carbs. My favorite toppings to put on my ramen are mushrooms, pork chashu, and corn. So good and now I'm hungry. Service is also excellent. Everyone is friendly and food comes out quickly. We came with a party of six and were celebrating two birthdays, and they surprised us by comping both birthday meals, which was such a generous and thoughtful touch that immediately set the tone for the night. The pork was tender and paired really well with the depth of the broth. My only downside was the soy egg, which was extremely salty, almost to the point of being inedible. It was a bit of a letdown, but thankfully it didn't take away too much from how good the rest of the meal was overall. On top of the food, the service really stood out. Came here for my bfs bday and def don't regret. The interior kinda reminds me of a pocha or a place where you can come drink and chill with your friends. Our server doutzen was AMAZINGG!! Super creamy soup and the miso on top added the umami flavor. Rengoku ramen 7/10: this one was also super flavorful and had a very tiny hint of tom yum. I ordered their Shinigami Ramen for $24.15 it had Tonkotsu broth served with yellow noodles, black garlic oil, pork chasu, kara-age, soy-cured egg, wood ear mushrooms, corn, green onions, togarashi & a side of Shinigami spice. This is their spicest ramen I didn't go too high on heat but loved the level I received. The broth alone was so flavorful and the entire dish truly brought me back to life. My other half ordered the Da Oxtail Ramen for $28.75 which had tender, shredded oxtail & steak, in a combination of our Tonkotsu and house-made oxtail broth, served with yellow noodles and topped with mixed mushrooms, soy-cured egg, bok choy, red ginger, green onions, fried onion & ginger. This was very beef forward so if your not a fan this is your warning. Loved both dishes, the anime concept, and the quality of food. This time we ordered the fried rice, two build-your-own ramens, and one Shinigami (the spiciest option!). Everything was beyond delicious, with generous portions and great flavor. Something to note- the tofu in the ramen is absolutely amazing! I think it's the best I've ver had- sooooo much flavor!! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the black garlic I ordered was left out, and our server didn't check back for quite a while after dropping off the bowls.
