Today, I had time to come back for dinner and this establishment did not disappoint!! I was very impressed by the hospitality and great food options for hot pot. The restaurant is small in size but full of great ambiance when walking in the front door. Staff greets you and offers to explain the process and menu (greatly appreciated) as I'm still new to eating hot pot. My spouse is very familiar but let staff explain so I could be well versed as well. Great food selection and price point was spot on. No confusion or objections on my end. We're fans of hot pot restaurants so we were looking forward to giving this place a try. This operates a bit differently than a traditional sit down restaurant. The heads up we'd give is the cost of the meal is in your control! Your eyes will likely get the best of you as you pile on a whole host of things to have in your pot and then be stunned when they weight it all and give you the price! They have lots of ingredients to chose from that you decide what you want and how much you want in your dish. Then once weighed at the cashier, you decide how you want it prepared. They over several options and different heat levels of 'dry' with sauce to full on soup. I went with one of their dry options with a light sauce with little heat. My husband went with one of the soup options with some decent spice level. The portion size of our bowls was rather large (my husband couldn't finish all of his dish which is rare!). I had enough for lunch the next day as well. Back to my opening heads up, this place is a bit costly. They don't serve alcohol and for our two dishes, it was around $70 including tip. Again, we were the ones who loaded up the tray with the items that went in to the dishes, we just didn't know how much it would be until it was too late to turn back. That is why I went with three stars as I suspect others will make a similar move with the same shock. ;) read more

Yesterday I ordered the dry hot pot, and it was extremely salty, as if they had put in an entire jar of salt. Even after rinsing it with water, it was still very salty. After eating it, I had diarrhea for two days. read more

The staff is very nice, and the interior is bright and fun -- but that's about it. Compared to other mala tang spots, this one falls a bit short. The broth wasn't very flavorful and leaned on the oily side. Some of the meat options also didn't seem as fresh or tasty as I had hope. It was so busy when I stopped in around 12:30pm on a Saturday. As soon as you walk in, you grab a tray and put whatever ingredient you want in your hotpot. It is by the pound so be careful on carelessly just putting ingredients on your tray. The beef bone broth is their original soup base which you can customize the spice level. I did medium spicy and it's just the right amount of spice for me. Definitely coming back when it's not really just like today to enjoy more of the ambiance and surrounding eating in a much less chaotic space. read more

I decided to try this place because it was from NYC, and I know how good NYC dry hotpot is. I was excited to see how it compared. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't great. Parking is very limited. There are only a few spots available, and otherwise you have to find parking in a nearby lot, which can be inconvenient. When I asked a few questions about the food, the staff member helping me didn't seem very familiar with the items and didn't appear very engaged. I understand everyone has off days, but I didn't feel very welcomed or helped. It also took quite a while just to complete payment. They charge by weight, which I understand, but I ordered two bowls and was told one didn't meet their requirement, so everything had to be combined into one bowl to pay. That process felt confusing and unnecessary. As for the taste, the dry hotpot was sweet and spicy and didn't match the flavor from NYC. It just wasn't what I was hoping for. Dry hotpot is suppose to be spicy if it's spicy. Not sure why the sweet taste is there. I left feeling disappointed. I personally prefer Yonny Mini Hotpot & Suancai Fish or the one in Carrollton, where the staff has always been welcoming and helpful. I really didn't want to write this review but I just felt very unwelcome there and angry on that day. read more

They have been open less than two weeks and all of the labels on the bottom shelves are completely unable to be read. It made it very hard to pick items for our hot pot. You also use tongs for all items, but then your raw meat tongs also touch veggies and things which felt like it was going to make people sick. Multiple items, I think probably the proteins based on where they were located, were also missing and never replaced while we were there. The broth is very good and the pricing and portions are good as well. They do Pepsi drinks or milk tea, but when I asked what flavor the milk tea was, the cashier seemed very annoyed and said "just normal".
