We got takeout for the 3 of us here. The staff was friendly. The Chicken katsu bento boxes were fantastic. There are seemingly a lot of Asian restaurants that use a) some amount of poor quality ingredients, b) some things are stale or too old to be served, or c) some other issue. We had none of these problems. Even my very picky Asian food loving teen loved her meal and wants to have their food again. I ordered the bento box with the cheese pork katsu. I thought it was delicious and a complete meal. The service was very quick and there were no lines when I went for a Saturday lunch. It is also located in a plaza where there is a lot of parking. The ambiance was very casual where you order at the counter and they bring out the food to you. You order from a kiosk at the front that is easy to use and you take a buzzer and put the number in instead of your name (I actually screwed this up but it was fine). There was very little wait for my food too (admittedly it wasn't super busy at the time). I had the classic pork with cheese and it was delicious. The pork was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of cheese. The miso soup was great as well, with everything portioned well so you finish full but not stuffed. I visited Bulldog Katsu for the first time on a Saturday night for dinner. It's a casual restaurant, and there's a large menu at the front + smaller menus to look at before you go up to the counter. There are self service kiosks - make sure you grab a table number next to the kiosk to assign to your order if you dine-in. Their pork and chicken cutlets are fried to crispy perfection without being oily. If you love curry, theirs is flavorful and pairs well with both their udon and katsu. If you like variety, I recommend their bento box where you can try a little bit of everything. Their deluxe bento has a couple more sides, but I think their classic bento is just as tasty + satisfying. FOOD Classic Pork Katsu - The classic comes with cutlet, cabbage rice, and miso soup. It's super crispy and crunchy on the outside and the inside is great. The meat is tender and well cooked. Cabbage is fresh and crunchy as well. The sauce was perfectly drenched on the top of the cutlet and seeping down some onto the cabbage to give it more flavor. I'm not sure if this type of food isn't something that I would typically go for, but I thought the food was just okay. Curry and katsu was solid but I honestly preferred the katsu chicken sandwich over my meal. The fried squid was not my favorite, kind of oily but it wasn't bad; I just wouldn't get it again. The service is quick, the owner is so sweet, and they offer easily accessible water or utensils etc. My favorites off the menu gotta be the spicy miso udon, the curry udon, or the bibim udon. I'm always stuck deciding between either of the three, but I recommend the spicy miso on a cold day and the bibim udon when you're feeling something spicy. Menus and pics along the entry wall were helpful with deciding what you want before you arrive at the counter. We received numbered beeper and chose an open table. Utensils, napkins and condiments were available at a self-service station. A short while later the beeper sounded, and our meals were ready. The bento meals included the main entree, furikake rice, salad, miso soup, two pieces of crab sushi, a fried dumpling and a sesame sweet bean dumpling. I don't usually care for miso soup but I actually enjoyed this soup, which was smooth and flavorful. The chicken katsu was nice and crispy and tasted great with the katsu sauce and spicy mayo.
