It's care for a mother, not birthing person. What a way to disgrace motherhood! Giving birth is the very definition of mother!

Dr. Darche is our MVP/hero of our first successful and recent pregnancy. Our baby boy was breech…read moreand she was able to successfully turn him at 36 weeks via ECV (basically turning him by pushing him from the outside). She's small but mighty and was a champ in turning the baby with confidence. She knew exactly what she was doing and because of her I was able to have a vaginal birth that we wanted. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. She also delivered our son - my water broke 60 hours before delivery and after 3.5 hours of pushing I had given up until Dr. Darche walked in and coached me to push. If she didn't walk in, I would've given up bc I knew she wasn't going to let me get away without pushing the baby out. She gave me the confidence and strength I needed to push the baby out and did a great job. She's skilled, caring and gets the job done. She's an efficient communicator and has high EQ. One thing I regret is not listening to her advice when I got admitted to the hospital to do the pitocin right away instead of the misoprostol. Then maybe I would've had a less painful and long birth (I had an infection and baby ended up in the NICU for antibiotics for 48 hours as a preventative measure). I had 5 rounds of miso before I dilated so it was a long process. Anyway, I would recommend her to everyone and if you have a breech baby or delivering at 1100 Van Ness, then you better pray that Dr. Darche is on duty! She's a big advocate on vaginal birth - when the others were suggesting c-sections bc our baby was breech and measuring too big (he was estimated to be over 9-10 pounds and ended up being only 8 pounds 5 ounces at full term - 3 days before his due date), Dr. Darche turned him around and coached me through delivery. Also, I liked her response to my question what if the baby turned breech again before delivery - she said she would turn him around again! My husband got a kick out of that statement and I like her confidence. CPMC is lucky to have Dr. Darche.

It will bring priceless peace of mind to a completely unknown situation. Also for the fathers if you don't get around to reading up on baby birthing literature (which you still should) the doula can always assist you with any questions you may have before, during, and after the birth. Jasmine was very professional and knowledgeable, she made everything so seamless and comforting. I highly recommend Jasmine and the service itself, also remember fathers that if your lady feels more relaxed by wanting a doula it is to your best interest because it will make things easier for you at the end of it all. A must for first time parents, you will be very happy with the decision. -Fabian

(My first baby I had with a now-closed health group in Olympia and my second I had a midwife from much farther south.) Jasmine is warm, personable, and caring; by my second visit we were friends! She always did an excellent job of explaining any/all procedures that were available and any risks or benefits involved. She encouraged me to listen to my own body and to pay attention to how I felt. (She also came to my house at 5 in the morning for a "false alarm" labor call! Now that's service.) I had the best birthing experience imaginable with Jasmine and I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat.

Colleen is a truly a genius when it comes to babies, lactation, family dynamics, mental health, and anything else that could possibly come up post-baby. We love that we can text her and get instant answers - Google has nothing on her! She was also an amazing health advocate for me because of her background as an RN (even joining in doc apts) as I had complex postpartum complications and our family will always be so grateful for her guidance and positivity. We also hired Colleen for her sleep specialist program/sleep training and her custom schedule, coaching, and tips made it so easy. Our son has been sleeping through the night and taking 4 naps a day since 3.5 months old. (Now he's a pretty chill baby, but Colleen is magic.) Working with her is worth every penny, whether it's for a first baby or navigating multiples. I'm writing a long review because I'm so passionate about Colleen's work and I hope others hire her to make their postpartum journeys a million times better than you can possibly imagine. Thank you, Colleen!!!!

Cassandra went beyond our expectations. She was able to prepare us and provide a lot of knowledge and support prior to labor. She taught us a lot of techniques we could use before, during, and after labor. She listened to me and my partner, which was another important thing for us. As for the most part, my birthing plan did not go as I had planned. I ended up having preeclampsia and got induced 3 weeks early. I couldn't have done it without Cassandra and my partner, though. Cassandra made sure I was comfortable; she brought snacks, tea, games, a tablet to watch movies, and even went out to go get me a slushie I was craving so badly. She brought all of her tools as well. She also took pictures that we will forever cherish. Her support and knowledge were everything we needed and more. I honestly could not have done it without her; she was absolutely amazing! She also kept my placenta and made tablets for me. She was also going to make a keepsake out of the cord and make it into a heart, but was unable to since my cord was so short. Cassandra has stayed in touch with us and provided a ton of resources for me, which has been so helpful. If you are looking for someone to listen to you, provide knowledge, support you, and go beyond for you, Cassandra is the perfect doula for you.

She provided us with invaluable support before, during, and after my birth. In short, Kelsey is an exceptional doula-don't hesitate to hire her! Before meeting Kelsey, I didn't know a lot about doulas; I just knew I wanted all the expert support I could get going through my first pregnancy and labor. My understanding of Doula meant home birth with a midwife, but I planned to give birth at TMC with my OB.  I first contacted Kelsey through her website (after thoroughly stalking her Instagram hygge.birth.services) when I was about three months pregnant; we scheduled a video call meeting to get to know her. After our initial call, Kelsey left her email and phone open for any follow-up questions we might have while deciding whether to become her client. Kelsey's service offerings are comprehensive, and we opted for her Complete Birth and Postpartum Support Package. While I was Kelsey's primary client, my husband also benefitted greatly from her support. We had a group text throughout the pregnancy to address any questions or concerns, ensuring we were both well-informed and prepared. Kelsey's support was instrumental in keeping us on the same page, especially when I went into labor and was unable to communicate as effectively.  Even if you're not interested in a doula for your entire pregnancy journey, I highly recommend taking Kelsey's Childbirth Education Course (CBE). She offers private sessions in your home. She is offering a reduced rate as she is in training, which is a fantastic deal. I wish we had started her CBE course when we were family planning; there is so much information that would've been really helpful in the early days of our pregnancy. Even starting when we did, around 6 months, there was still an abundance of information we took away from it. Taking her course would also be a great way to get to know Kelsey if you're not sure you need a Doula yet. On our second night home with our baby girl, she wouldn't stop crying, and my husband and I were at our wit's end. The "5 S's" weren't working. I sent Kelsey a frantic text at 11 p.m., and to my surprise, she quickly responded with encouragement and guidance. I'm sure that isn't always possible, but that's just one example of how Kelsey goes above and beyond to support her clients. Kelsey is also an amazing Mama. With a toddler and infant, she's in the thick of parenthood, which is just an added bonus. She is also very organized, which was helpful for my very disorganized personality. Although our formal package with Kelsey has ended, we will stay in touch. I plan to hire her for additional postpartum support visits. She's kind, caring, compassionate, and a great advocate. I'm very grateful she was a part of our birth journey.

Literally describing a possible tumor in my lady area, struggling to walk. They let me know I have a $35 outstanding balance preventing me from receiving the medical care I need. First of all, I'm happy to pay it. I would actually love to pay it IN PERSON at the appointment. Second of all - no mention of my extreme issue? No phone call back? No, hey we will book the appointment but please go ahead and pay in the meantime? Completely dismissed. In fact, they closed the conversation so I couldn't even reply. The lack of compassion and understanding that paying a $35 balance (that I didn't know I had) was maybe not the priority in this moment? I'm honestly just shocked. Will NEVER be returning. Shame on Lino Quijada for thinking that message was acceptable. If you want to be protected when you experience an urgent medical event involving your most vulnerable body part, you should take your business elsewhere incase you maybe have an outstanding balance of $35 that prevents you from being treated like a human that needs help.
