Visited ShopRite for the 1st time this week. I joined their customer rewards program - the staff were helpful in getting that set up and even applying any savings to our initial order too. Waited on the phone for 6-minutes only to have the customer service representative come back and let me know that floral is not picking up the phone and that I cannot get balloons So I asked if I would have to go to another place to buy balloons and do my grocery shopping. The person actually told me YES Who in their right mind would willing and knowingly tell customers to go some where else. I worked for ShopRite over 10 years ago and I must say you have such an amazing team with outstanding customer service! I never have been to a ShopRite that's so helpful and pleasant. I NEED TO SHOUT OUT TO CHRISSY/KRISSY (not sure of her spelling) she is usually in floral department, this young lady is such a blessing and kind heartd individual. My mother is always so overwhelmed with positivity when leaving your location. The food is always fresh in my experience and the ambiance is friendly, attentive and respectful due to the awesome staff you have on board. I personally like this particular ShopRite over the rest. I do DoorDash in the Clinton area and shopping here is usually a breeze. The produce is the hardest group to search for but you can always be sure that there will be at least 2-3 employees stocking that can help. Especially the guy with the sunglasses (I'm not great with names) I'm just a delivery driver but he always offers help when he sees me lost and confused . The food to go options here are amazing especially compared to other local shoprites. They had a thanksgiving dinner for 2 available . Self checkout is simple if you have a few items . Most of the time they have 2-3 people there to assist if any issues. Ohhh my favorite part is the staff at the pick up side. They are all just awesome and very prompt. The faster they are the quicker I can do my deliveries and make more money so thank you guys read more

The selection of food is excellent with particular praise for their Blueberry Muffin Tops. The only negative I must note is the need for more handicap parking spaces. The store,shelves and rest rooms are kept orderly and clean. At certain times additional registers need staffing. read more

Do not get vaccines at this shoprite. I got the incorrect vaccine. I handed the man my paper with the correct vaccine info on it and he signed it but I guess he didn't read it. Once I realized and got concerned, him and the whole staff tried to brush it off like no big deal. I was not a good candidate for the vaccine I received because it had given people blood clots and I am a high risk patient. LUCKILY for them, I was fine but holy malpractice. read more

Stopped in for several items on the shopping list and toured most of this gigantic store. Lots of variety in the gluten-free section although prices are higher than other products. Store aisles were clean and organized. When we were checking out the Fresh Fish Department we were asked if we could be helped by two cheerful employees. Also appreciated the parking for handicapped persons right up front across from the store's entrance. I'll return whenever I am back in the area. read more

The remodel has been sub par chaotic and not customer friendly. The Floral Department is a complete disappointment since November 2023. The department is no longer inviting or have the selection and quality of flowers it did with Jerry and Lucille. These 2 were constantly in the department staging flowers creating... NOW Jerry is gone and apparently Lucile works minimal hours instead of many and it shows. The department looks depleted,selection is poor, Quality is down. Disappointing. Coming from NYC, it's such a breath of fresh air to be in a huge grocery store with so many different options. This shoprite is a pretty average grocery store, but large and with tons of different products and options and seemed to do a good job directing traffic/flow on Christmas during the pandemic. People wore masks and everything too which was great. read more

This Shoprite is 8 min from my home and is my go to grocery store (primarily because it's the only game in town). The parking lot is always like a zoo (a requirement for all Shoprite parking lots, I think) and the plaza within which it is located has a kind of 80s drab feel. The inside, however, has a slightly refreshed feel and I don't get quite the same crowded feeling on the inside of the store as I do when I'm in the parking lot. However, it doesn't feel as spacious as other grocery stores, such as the Stop & Shop on Rt. 31, the Wegmans in Bridgewater or even the Shoprite in Branchburg. I do think they have done a good job fitting in a good selection of products within the smaller footprint of this store and I can usually get all that I need at this one location. Their produce is fresh and well stocked. Their deli counter is very efficiently run - it's done solely via kiosk ordering. Just don't forget to pickup your order before heading to the register! I would rate most of my interactions with the "Courtesy Counter" staff as unpleasant at best. They give off the "you're lucky I'm even willing to talk to you and do my job today" vibe. read more

This ShopRite took a defunct pre-existing store and has spent the entire existence there trying to adapt it to their needs. Because of this, it lacks the same luxurious feel of stores built to be ShopRites from the ground up, but, on the other hand, it is by far the most accessible store to many of us in the northern part of Hunterdon County. Additionally, to those of us multi-tasking when we are out, in the same smaller plaza, there is a Wal-Mart. As for the ShopRite, I find the quality of the produce and the deli to be on par with the same departments in larger stores, the personnel to be just as helpful, and the service to be just as good. Does it get busy about the time school lets out? You bet, but I could say the same about any grocery store that is surrounded by a variety of schools. It may not be the store for those wanting seating to eat in the store, but it does fit the needs of the community it serves. If you don't like the parking lot, try to visit at other than peak times. read more

Oh my goodness I love the new shop rite from home parking system! Just text your info and coupons to the number on the sign leaves zero contact with staff. I left my car open and ran next door to grab a bottle of wine while they loaded my car and was back home in 15 minutes ! Highly recommend the new system especially during these times read more

Even after their recent reorganization this is the most strangely laid out store I have ever been in. I'm sure it makes sense to someone somewhere. The staff is always friendly. Their pharmacy caught a pretty significant error our pediatrician made. The pharmacist called the doctor and striaghtened it out. I am so grateful for her for catching it and taking care of it! The only annoying thing is the amount of shop -from-home workers. Sometimes they out number the shoppers haha. They are understandably doing their job but they make it uncomfortable if you need to look at items fora few moments before making a choice. They make it clear you are slowing them down. They also leave their carts blocking shelves. I would use this service myself, if I could get my act together. read more

I am shocked by the negative reviews I am reading about Clinton Shop Rite. Yes, the location and layout are not the greatest, but the quality, consistency and absolute great prices FAR outweigh the location issue. The people at Shop Rite are always helpful. Also, a lot of you naysayers probably are not aware because the man is humble and quiet, but the owner of this store may be the single most generous and community minded servant I have EVER encountered. I've enjoyed shopping at Shoprite 30+ years but no more. About a year ago, give or take, things started to deteriorate.  The first thing was some poorly-informed person changed some Shoprite products & their brand name to "Paperbird" or "Bowl and Basket".  At that time many things went downhill.... 1.  The Paperbird toilet paper falls apart in your hand immediately upon  getting wet.!!  Ugh! 2.  Some new-name Shoprite products have disappeared, made different, or reduced in size. 3.  The paper shopping bags have decreased in size by 33% thus hold less.  The bags also are thinner and rip apart very easily.  Thus you need to use more bags for space, and for strength. 4.  The weekly sales circular is from hell and gets worse each week.    a.  The sale date is now so fine, tiny & on a black background that you need 2 pairs of eyeglasses & a flashlight to find it and to read it.    b.  The images of too many products on a page are so small that you can't recognize the product, what it is, nor read any print on it.       c.  The accompanying descriptions are in very fine print & misleading or inadequate info.    d.  Though not important, the paper  quality is poorer, and the ink & colors are faded.    e.  As a result of the above inadequate information I will be buying less.  The circulars are a waste of my time and Shoprite's money. 5.   If you order "From Home" and choose NO SUBSTITUTIONS they will substitute anyway with some of the substitutions doubling in prices/cost.  6.  The From Home checkout software has flaws requiring entering the same info 3 or 4 times.  These are only a few of the issues but they are repetitve and have driven this lifelong customer away.     "If it ain't broke don't fix it" keeps coming to mind. read more

Loyal customer for many years, This store, particularly shop from home, has become a nightmare. I have been trying to place an order for 9 days. Over the weekend they put in a "queue" system. In the past three days I have spent over 9 hours in the queue and still don't have a date for pickup. All the slots for the new day are filled within two minutes of the new day going on line. Are they just not taking any orders? If not, admit it and close down the system. No one answers the phones, either in the local store or corporate, Loyalty waning, rapidly. read more

And because many don't know how to drive in this parting lot...i almost get hit while walking. Don't even try it. They are as good as your local Comcast provider. Day by day, I see Shoprite become more and more unfriendly and unjust. Like customer service is getting as good as Scrooge because they are being the worst customer service ever. Thing looks dented? No returns, because we think not! We need to get them money! Produce is going nuts too. Some stuff just has been there for a week and certain products are just gross! The remodel before was actually good, but now they remodeled everything, and some of that stuff turned spoil. Like who puts jam 6 rows away from the bread? And the bread ends right next to the paper plates and toilet paper rolls. That's just not acceptable. Don't even try the meat department. They are the biggest lazy bums because the butcher always takes a "break" (which I ensure you is him taking a break and getting free money for just turning up to work.) He also hates people like me; who look for ground pork that just isn't there and ask him. He even gave me the "I Want To Murder You For Doing This" look and punishes me with some fatty meats. Customer service says its totally fine because they are still being Scrooges. If Shoprite doesn't get better, I will probably need to report this place because they are being even worse than Comcast and Walmart put together in their evilness. Please save me. read more

This store is a joke. When there is no competition they have no reason to act like they appreciate you as a customer. Theirs are no friendly faces, they all act like the customer is an inconvenience and would rather talk amongst themselves than interact with customers. Bagging groceries is another area where they are clueless. Apparently no one is ever instructed on how to properly pack a bag. I found eggs and tomatoes at the bottom of a bag and I no longer let them bag. I have tried to interact with the help but mostly they ignore you, especially the shop at home shoppers. Just rude. This is all a reflection of the management. I'll be so happy when Trader Joe's comes to town. Go to their website and request. They listen to their customers. Update: I do not understand how they can be out of the same produce every week. Apparently no one is capable of figuring out which sell out repeatedly EVERY week. Someone at that store get a clue. It's not the worst store I've been to however it has so many books and corners and some pillars in the middle of isles that make it very tough to navigate. Then add a coronavirus to it and it makes it almost impossible. But the last year or so we mainly went for pickups to save time. However, while I understand the gravity of a pandemic, when you finally are getting a spot, it sucks when you have mishap after mishap. One time the pickup window stretched beyond the time they actually were open, next the $200+ trip only delivered less than $60 of actual groceries and the last time, multiple gluten free items were substituted with regular glutenous versions, while milk for the same brand of skim (instead of whole from another brand), etc. etc. And the text message in substitutions had barely any detail and not enough time as it came within 15 minutes of the pickup time and thus I already drove to the store and couldn't answer... It's however not a solution that at 2:30 at 92F outside temperature that one will argue with a teenager who brings your groceries to the parking lot while this teenager didn't even do the shopping and your groceries are starting to melt/boil. Worst. Butchers. Ever. I asked the butchers to get me some ground pork and they said that "We're on break." Like your taking toooo many breaks! And they told me to wait half an hour. And then they give us a full fat meat most likely because they thought that we "disturbed their break." And Customer Service is being stupid and pretending that it's not such a big deal. This is the only supermarket in my town so it doesn't leave us much of a choice without driving about 10 minutes. The location is actually pretty inconvenient especially around the holidays or other busy times a year. It is located up a hill, in a plaza-type setting and it makes entering and exiting difficult during busy times of year. People here are very nice and accommodating. Let's be honest, this store was never great. They inconsistently stock items and the store is difficult to navigate. The produce and meat are often not good quality. However now, with the pandemic, they do not even seem to care at all about masks and safety. Even employees inside have their masks below their noses! If they are outside (even if within 6 feet of a customer), the masks are completely off. They can't even enforce the mask rule with their employees so forget about feeling safe at this store during a pandemic. It is worth the drive to Flemington or Washington and avoiding the Clinton Shoprite. read more

I have been shopping here for over 15 years now and this place is getting worse by the minute. Some of this is probably created by larger volume of shoppers due to closing of A&P in Clinton but instead of taking advantage of being the only store on town they are overwhelmed and can not get a hold of the new situation Empty shelves, especially if atractive item is on sale - forget of getting it that week. This is strictly a review about order from home at shop rite of clinton and pick up. I was ill and had to use this option for a couple of weeks and it was a joke. They never got my order right. They also sent me home with bad meat. After calling about this they tried to blame it on Shop Rite of Flemington saying they ordered their meats from there for pick up. After asking to speak to a manager he told me to call them and complain. Needless to say, I was ordering and picking up my groceries from Clinton not Flemington. No one ever apologized for the weeks of never getting my order right or sending bad meat home to my house. I will never use this service here again which is upsetting since I have health issues and need to use this service at times for my family and Clinton is closest to me. I gave them weeks of chances and not once was my order correct. A shout out to Washington Shop Rite order from home since I had to pick up from their location although farther for me, but nothing was forgotten, and the bags were packed professionally, and the meats were fresh. 5 Stars for their service. read more
