Shop Rite Brookhaven was my go to shopping store until they remodeled. The cases of water were located by the lunch meats and there was always a gentleman waiting for his order and he would put the water in my cart. Now the water is located at the other end of the store where no body seems to be to help. There is no call button to press for help and I have to walk all the way to customer service and request assistance. I have a disability so walking is not painless for me. The lunch meat are now stored on the back wall so you can't see them. They jam the milk in go tight you can't get it out. What the problem with stocking one less quart or half gallon so it's easier to grab. The seniors citizens and those with disabilities can't reach half of your products unless we stand on a shelf and reach up .You could have taken a survey asking customers young, old, disabled and your employees what they look for when shopping at Shop Rite. What a mess you made, so those of us who were having problems shopping at Shop Rite, now go across to Giant. read more

I can say this because since they opened a few months ago I have used their prepared foods for buffets and luncheon's at my house to supplement what I actually cooked myself, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. The people that work here are very pleasant and helpful all the times that I have shopped here. As ShopRites are independently owned and operated I am very pleased that the owner decided to open one in Brookhaven, an area which was sadly lacking for a good grocery store. The prices here are excellent and so is the selection. I got many hostess gifts here over the Christmas holidays too. The parking lot is diligently maintained by staff so I never see runaway shopping carts. Now I can shop at the ShopRite in Brookhaven instead of having to drive 6 miles away to the one I formerly frequented. Thank You !!!! read more

Literally EVERY time I go here, there is an issue. I was charged for $200 dollar for 4 tomatoes, constant inventory issues with low and out of stock items, and cashiers closing lines after you wait there for 5 minutes. One of the worst stores I've ever been to. They can't even keep the shelves stocked with simple items. at one point in time I used to have to order muscle milk, because they couldn't keep more than two on the shelf. Then, one time during self check out, an employee decided to help me to speed things along... Low and behold the next day I get a call , and I was never charged for the muscle milk. It was nine containers, so I fully understood why I got the call. Prior to that I had a good rapport. Today I asked the gentleman how much a pound of turkey was Deitz and Watson... he said it was either 899 or 999 per pound. I said OK that sounds fine. I looked at it and it said 1299 a pound. The guy said oh when you put your coupon in it'll take it off lo and behold it did not take it off and everyone at the register was really surprised that he said that. He was clearly trying to just get rid of me, hoping I never noticed. They don't want to do their job to begin with, and when confronted with a question, they will tell you whatever they need to say to get you out of their face. After holding the lineup, and finding out that the guy did lie to me and tell me the wrong price, you would think they would give it to me along with an apology. That did not happen. "Want it or not?". The store does not come without a tad bit of racism as well. Of course, you can't refer to it as that, because apparently racism can only go in one particular direction. So in a follow up to the pumpkin pie story. I returned to the store on Nov 19th and spoke to the store manager. I showed him the pumpkin pie box with the expiration date of 11/03. I provided the receipt showing the purchase date of 11/16/2021. I explained that I had eaten so.e of the pie and it caused me to become ill. The store managers response was "I think they put the wrong date on the box" I told the manager that had they simply put the wrong date on the box, I would not have become sick. He continued to repeat "I think they put the wrong date on the box" in my judgement he was calling me a liar. I had provided him with physical evidence. I explained that I had shopped in this building for over 40 years and in the past year the quality of produce declined, I have found expired dairy and reported it to staff and they didn't seem to care. I started shopping in other stores. I asked the manager to revise procedures and he said he would speak to the bakery dept. He said he shops in this store and wants things to be fresh. I asked for the corporate name, the address and phone number. He said he only had a phone number. No address or name was provided. I called and left 2 messages with operations with my phone number. I received a message from a woman to call her and I did and left a message again. Instead of returning my call, she had the same manager who was calling me a liar. Call me back. I'm not looking to gain anything with this, I always liked this store. It is convenient and I had shopped at that location for more than 40 years. I just wanted to ensure they would take positive corrective action. Apparently even the store manager did not believe me and the corporate office doesn't care enough to even take or return my calls. read more

I see all the positive reviews and wonder what store everyone else is going to. I've recently moved to the area, and have found the staff to be rude, lazy, and often hard to find or non existent. Most days when you go in, if you use self checkout the employees who work it are busy just talking and not doing their job. You can wave, and ask, and you'll likely just get looked at like you're interrupting their personal time. Totally unacceptable and lazy. This morning I went in and half the customers would just come blasting out of aisles nearly knocking you down, some making an effort to just stare as they see you walking around, like you've entered gangland. I asked customer service where to find tuna, and she had to look it up and when I said thanks no you're welcome or anything. Though the woman before me they exchanged who could have a more blessed day. And the parking lot has people trying to run people over and cursing. Good luck. read more

I was not impressed by the service at this store late last week. I needed some help in the meat department and saw the seafood guy out in front of the display just next to the meats. He dismissed me and told me to wait by the swinging doors that lead back to the loading docks. The Entenmann's delivery guy came out and after several minutes a woman appeared from one of the aisles to help. Did my grocery shopping today and had about 20 items. They only had 3 cashiers open with lines. Went to the self checkout area where they only had 2 people checking out. Started to enter my plus card number and the woman overseeing everything thing goes excuse me 15 items or less can only shelf check out you have to go back and stand in line for a cashier. Needless to say I left her with my cart of groceries she's standing there looking at about 8 empty self checkout registers while people are standing in line 5 deep waiting for a cashier. Doors just opened today! Parking lot is FULL! Ushers at the door are handing out great coupons for Grand Opening promo sales! Store looks gorgeous on its first day! I am so sad to see Pathmark go, but the new Shop-Rite replacement has spruced up the place, and they seem to offer similar products. In fairness, all of Pathmark went out of business; it was a diamond-in-the-rough grocery store, that offered some amazing exotic produce, and ethnic ingredients you would not even find at a gourmet specialty shop. It was amazing that way. This Shop Rite store will face stiff competition from the brand new Giant going in across the street. B-haven destroyed the old community ball fields on the corner across from Wawa, in order to create "The Shoppes at Brookhaven" which will house the new Giant, plus a PetValu, and a Hand & Stone Massage. (ha ha ha, "shoppes" add an extra p and e, and suddenly it's high rent) All in all, this new Shop Rite provides a much-needed update (grocery store-wise) in an area that has high-volume sales, but whose stores were not living up to the business its local customers gave them. I am glad to see B-haven finally get the updates it has deserved for some time. Good news! This store will be open 24 hours! read more

This is the worst grocery store I've ever been to. My phone was stolen out of my cart. I went to customer service and they wouldn't even make eye contact with me. Every single employee I went to did not help or do anything to find my phone. When I asked about cameras the one employee literally laughed at me. I was very happy when this store opened . Now it seems like a lot of the cashiers act as if they are doing you a favor. ( that is if they are not in a loud conversation with each other) . Always long lines while only a few open registers. And if you're on break, don't hag out up front where customers see you just hanging out. Management needs to manage . Like it or not, it's illegal in the state of PA to not wear a mask, especially as an employee. Corporate needs to do better. Never use there shop from home. I put in a order to be delivered between 1-3 pm for a reason why becuase i leave to pick up my husband from work at 4 and don't get back home till like 5-5:30 ish. So i call at 2:45 about my order. . I called them ! not them calling me telling me my order is going to be late. Cool. They said it should be out by 4pm. I call at 3:55 about an update on my order and i called 8 time before that rude lady wanted to pick up the phone. I'm trying to get her to understand that this is the second time something went wrong with my order. She keeps putting me on hold while I'm trying to explain myself . They are very rude at that ShopRite and i will never go to that ShopRite or use it every again ! I'm call customer service right now putting in a complaint because every month it's the same thing . My overall experience with this store has been fine; however, I am writing about my experience with their bakery. I ordered my sons 1st birthday cake and the quality of the work is sub par. I ordered the writing and trim to be in light blue you know to match the theme of his party and I get it in dark blue. My son has a lot of letters in his name and what do they do???? Jam his name in the corner the end is barely legible. I will never order a special event cake from their bakery again. Made my first visit to new Brookhaven ShopRite. I thought the store was clean, organized, and the isles had lots of room. Also they have take out beer which is a plus, but did not check beer prices. The prices for things I normally buy were about the same as Giant. I had limited interactions with staff, but it did seem like they had plenty of staff in the store. The only thing I disliked was the entrance and exit. The retained the old entrance and exit which are very small and awkward. Since I get gas rewards from Giant, I will not be switching. I will go when they send me good coupons and to check out there beer prices and selection. read more

Worse experience from pick up. My order was scheduled for pick up between 7-7:30. I was there by 7:15, texted and nothing. I called the store at 8 and was told that they were behind ( very rudely). Associates are trained to be rude. Sure we can write to Shoprite to complain, but it does no good. My bill came to $13.06, and I put $10 and 3 singles, a nickel and penny on the counter. When I asked if we were good, the cashier stated 'in my hand'. Not even a complete sentence for god sakes??? I asked 'Really?' She just repeated again. I said WOW. I work nearby, and will stop in periodically to grab something for lunch. I have had several interactions in their deli department, that leave me NOT wanting to use their deli. There is a thin African-American girl at the deli who has a very snotty attitude, acting like anything you want or request is a huge imposition - eye rolling, and arguing with your request. I felt affronted enough that I wrote about it on Facebook... How to order $0.87 worth of cheese: Me: (at deli counter with no other customers) Hi, I'd like three slices of Cooper sharp please. Deli-woman: (snaps away her eye contact, and shakes head while looking at wall with hands on her hips) That's not gonna work. Me: (blinks incredulously in gay) I'm sorry? What do you mean? Deli-woman: (still not making eye contact and difficult to understand with mask on) I mmph-pphm mpphm, mmm. Me: I'm sorry, can you turn your head towards me when you speak? I'm deaf in one ear. Deli-woman: (following eye-roll) I said, it won't be able to scan. It's not enough! Me: (citing deli experience) Oh my... it *will* have weight, and once you put in the price, it will ring up fine. Deli-woman: (talking to coworker) This ain't gonna work, he only wants three slices. Me: (blinking incredulously again) It will be okay. I promise. Let's give it a shot, and we'll go from there. Nothing beats a great looking new store with a different variety than Giant. I have been a faithful Giant shopper for years but having ShopRite close is a nice option. The take out beer, hot food selection and ready made lunch/dinner items makes for a one stop shop in terms of convenience. The times I have shopped there has been plenty of checkers and there is a self-serve checkout. Overall, I feel like the selection of items is better than Giant but I'll be sharing my shopping between the two stores. read more

i like the cashiers, friendly, always give a hello and happy to help but the Management needs work. They dont hold up to the store policy and always give you a run around. Each person that works behind customer service has their own sets of rules that they apply, which makes it so frustrating! Love the large selection of DiBruno products and the Aversa rolls but the reason I shop here is the excellent meat department. Very high quality meats which are well trimmed they actually have real butchers on staff. I've had a few special requests filled with no problems. Produce goes bad within 36 hours and the employees are very rude. I was in yesterday and an employee stocking shelves was blasting music with curse words around a family. Personally I don't care but others around definitely did. They didn't have 4 things I was looking for and the speakers were blasting some horrible cheesy jazz music.
