    Ribs and fries
    Marisol O.

I went to have dinner/lunch. The young server was nice I waited about 25 minutes for my food. I ordered a half rack of ribs with fries and a corn. What I didn't appreciate was that the ribs were cold. The fries were ok I will give it an5 out of 10

I love BBQ and this is where I like to eat it at. Great ribs, wings, and pork steak! This last one was a surprise. Never had it before and it was very delicious. Their corn on the cob is so good. And so is the garlic bread. Service, ambience, food, bang for your buck. Everything is great. Highly recommend.

Every time I'm in Miami I always try to hit Shortys BBQ. at least once. The food is always the same no surprises just good barbecue and that's what I'm looking for so tired of the spin off places that want to add their new touch to barbecue which turns us old-school barbecue people off very fast shorties isn't that place and they've been around a long time And I think they'll be around a lot longer because they stick to doing old-school barbecue and not trying to come up with something new

Can't get enough of this place I can't say it enough the food is always good! The corn is a must as well as the baby back ribs this has become my daughter's favorite place to eat if I mention the name she's like can we go! The customer service is exceptional as well! One thing I would love to recommend add some Grilled shrimp or shrimp kabobs!!

    Best pecan pie

Went on a Saturday night and the restaurant wasn't busy but had a constant flow of traffic. Was helped out by our server Maria S. She was fantastic. She didn't rush us, allowed us time to talk and relax. Best part is She truly encouraged us to return and was proud of where she worked. In regards to the food, I ordered a corn as a starter. Be careful the butter was HOT! Even though I may have burned my mouth a bit, it was worth it! Great way to start dinner. This was followed by burnt ends which had great flavor. A bit larger than other places but they were great. My meal was the brisket and chicken platter. My only cocomplaint is the chicken wasn't good. I expected a sliced piece of chicken like their menu but received 2 pieces of chicken (drumstick and thigh) that were extremely dry and lacked flavor. I finished the night off with their pecan pie and let me tell you that was the best part of the meal even with the great start. I wish I could take home a pie this good!

Our next family food adventure take us to Shorty's Bar-B-Q located in Miami with a category of 4.2 and more than 2,038 reviews, this restaurant specializes in barbecue. One History and Tradition: Tracing the Roots: Barbecue's history spans centuries, originating from indigenous cooking methods and evolving through various cultures.  Regional Styles: Each region has developed its distinct barbecue style, from Texas brisket and Kansas City ribs to North Carolina pulled pork and Memphis dry-rubbed ribs.  Cultural Significance: Barbecue plays a significant role in American culture, bringing people together for gatherings and celebrations.  At Shorty' s they have maintained the original recipe since its inauguration in 1951, I went with my family at dinner time. The experience was good, the waiter was very friendly and was very helpful when choosing from the menu. The place has a very Texan Western-style design. The only thing I didn't like was that it was too dark. The food was delicious and exquisite. The ribs fell off the bone smoothly. A constructive advice should make a renovation because the competition in kind of cuisine style is already at another level.

Always love coming to Shortys! Food is always fresh and delicious. Staff is wonderful, friendly and attentive. I usually order half a rack of ribs with fries and coleslaw, an order of buttered corn on the cob and an order of fried green tomato! They are all so fresh and delicious! This is good place for groups, any occasion and celebrations!

It's easy to find right off Bird Road with easy strip mall parking. Upon arriving it sets the mood entirely with great fun appropriate decor and a prompt happy welcome. Staff Makes us feel they are glad we came-What a cool place! We settle on the brisket, baby back ribs, potato salad and beans with brisket. Can I tell you EvErYtHiNg was spot on!! And we plan accordingly to try their famous 12 hour smoked Flan dessert!! 1. Smoked Brisket- moist, perfect flavor, hearty portion, tender and high quality meat. Comes with great sauce, which I didn't use since it was so perfect as is. 2. Smoked Baby Back Ribs- Another hit with healthy portion, great flavor, and super meaty. Honestly, just hard to stop eating it! 3. Baked Beans with Brisket- A true meal unto itself! I could've stopped here! Tons of brisket ground into the beans, almost like the best "chili" ever. Flavor is sophisticated smokiness, not the usual sugary sweet restaurant rendition. Yay! 4. Potato salad is FIRE! Fresh perfectly cooked tender white potatoes, cooked carrots & peas add just enough interest and a magical a touch of mayo. Yes please. 5. 12 hour smoked Flan-STAR * of the show, the flan of my dreams! Staff insisted this flan is all that and they are correct! It's LEGIT. We left with a doggie bag, so worth it. Price was for real, you pay for quality. $74, but we brought plenty home. You could get by with a meal for two around $50-60, if you need. Check out their Later week Happy hour sand weekly specials as well as brunch & breakfast. It's all good here! Thanks for following me-happy spring 2026! ~Tami in Miami

One thing about me is I love to have BBQ fresh off the smoker, but I do like that this truck is well equipped to keep everything warm, soft, and juicy. We tried the ribs and they were BUSSIN. Soft and amazing. In my life, I've never had ribs that soft before. They were seriously incredible. The pork sausage, though, was a HIT for me. I'm a girl who loves sausage, any kind, and the way this was so juicy just hit a spot for me. Matter of fact, I'll stop cooking sausages at home and simply come buy them by the pound here. The pulled pork was good. It's my fault for putting Sweet Heat BBQ on it without trying it first because LORD JESUS. I don't know what I was thinking. I underestimated the heat, and usually I love it hot, but LORD. I think my bread absorbed all of it. So, tread lightly with the hot sauces. For me, next time I think playing with a regular BBQ sauce and adding little dashes of the heated sauces myself would be the move. BUT IF YOU LIKE CRAZY HEAT, THEY GOT IT. The mac was good. The beans were FIRE. Perfectly sweet, and they actually have protein in them, which I can't say for all BBQ bean spots. Overall, it's worth the money. The service is respectful, and honestly, I will be coming back. I'll be ordering less food next time because LORD, I bought too much, but I'll definitely be back for a fresh brisket straight off the smoker. I can't lie. All in all, they're great. I like BBQ that tastes like hard work. Frankly, I want some love put into my BBQ, not just something that was simply cooked, and here they definitely have that. Only a true master can get sausage the way they do it here. 10/10. All juicy, all good. I'll be back. I can't recommend enough that you need to pivot your Thursdays through Sundays and try this place, ESPECIALLY IF IT'S FRESH OFF THE SMOKER. Real BBQ isn't about the presentation. My car, my hair, and my clothes all smelled like I rolled around in a smoker, which is exactly what I want from my BBQ. P.S. My dogs were going crazy for my fingers and trying to jump on the counters to get a bite, so you know it's good because they're well trained.

Traveling to Kansas City and experiencing the different taste of brisket I kind of knew what to look for. First, The "brisket" wasn't giving brisket, more like a bottom round cut meat that's being smoke. Second, the meat was dry, so the sauce was a must. Lastly, the guy was a bit rude, not welcoming. Mission is a chain that has restaurants in many states. It pays tribute to those who serve our country: firefighters, police, first responders and the military. There are many photos on the wall of people in uniform, including a few movie posters, such as Tom Cruise in Top Gun, as well as badges of various military, police and firefighter branches. The first good sign for food quality is when we placed our order and was asked, if we want the brisket moist or lean. Different people like their brisket differently, no wrong answer there just preference, and I'm glad we are given a choice. The brisket is moist, as we like. the cornbread though was too dry, and the collard greens too salty. They offer six different sauces, and my fave is the Florida one with mango. While we were dining, a staff came by, and gave us two cards to welcome our first visit, with very generous offer to entice us to return. Wow, thank you! Though I have to say, even without the cards we will!

Per my usual attitude my first time somewhere, I wanted to try several items. The owner was super nice and gave multiple suggestions. I ended-up trying a really affordable wing special that comes with rice and beans, slaw, plantain chips and I added mac. I also added brisket, and that came with slaw. The green bean salad comes in one size as an add-on. Okay first, the owner is clearly magic, because there isn't a grill in sight. I had no intention of ordering wings, but these are seriously the best wings I've had anywhere, in a long time (100/10). The rice and beans (10/10), and the rice smelled like it came from abuelita's kitchen. The slaw, oh my goodness (100/10), so simple, and yet perfect! I thought the chips were unnecessary . . . NOT! These are delicious (10/10) and 100% belonged on my plate. The mac . . . well, you can't win 'em all. The brisket was good (9/10) and the sauce is mustard-based, just like I like it, but the star is what got me there, the green bean salad! This was a fresh, exciting dish that is like nothing you've ever had (1,000/10), I won't describe the ingredients here, because I think you should be surprised. I can't wait to go back. The collard greens were hands down the best I've ever had, and the sweet potato soufflé was just as memorable. Even the Texas toast was incredible--I don't usually talk about bread, but this stuff was fire! The drinks were served in large cups, and the sweet tea was absolutely perfect.
