To be honest, I'm not quite sure what drew me there, but I'm truly grateful that I decided to stop in. I decided to indulge in the fried snapper, paired with a side of rice and beans and crispy plantain strips. Absolutely unacceptable experience. I visited La Fogata BBQ expecting a welcoming environment, only to be unlawfully denied entry with my legitimate service dog despite clearly informing staff that my dog is a trained service animal protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The management's ignorance of federal law was shocking and deeply discriminatory. Under the ADA, businesses are required to allow service animals accompanying individuals with disabilities, and not all disabilities are visible. Staff and management should understand that invisible disabilities are just as valid as visible ones, and denying someone access based on assumptions or lack of education is both harmful and illegal. Their "no pets allowed" policy does NOT override ADA protections for service animals. Refusing access demonstrates poor training, lack of professionalism, and blatant disregard for the rights of disabled individuals. No customer should have to defend their medical needs or face humiliation simply because management failed to follow federal law. This establishment seriously needs ADA compliance training immediately. Until they educate their staff and correct this discriminatory behavior, I strongly caution anyone with a disability or service animal against supporting this business. read more

It was late on a Saturday night and all the restaurants in the area we stopped at had a wait time so we stopped at La Fogata. We had been at another location before so we gave this one a try. The restaurant is spacious with lots of seating. Nothing fancy but clean and welcoming. Our server was cordial but not very detail oriented as she did not bring us utensils. She brought my side salad and I sat there waiting to see if she would notice and she did not. Sat there with the salad till my main course came and the person who brought out our food ( not our server) was the one to say "oh you need utensils". Now for the food it was decent for a decent price. My husband had a steak that was cooked to his liking but was a little bland. The fried cheese was amazing though and so were the fries. Crunchy like we like them. I had the fish and shrimp special which was quite disappointing! It was bland, no seasoning and it seemed too breaded. The breading was soggy and gave the fish a weird texture that I did not enjoy. I only ate a couple of pieces. It could have used some kind of sauce maybe even tartar sauce but none was offered. The Shrimp (3) was better,Nicely seasoned. For the price the food is ok but not a place I would choose to go to again. I've had Nicaraguan Fritanga much better than this one truthfully. Oh! Beware when they give you the check, they include 15% tip right away. So be careful to not double tip if you don't mean to. Don't go to this place, the manager is super rude and disrespectful. The manager doesn't even know the law of the state of Florida. He even did something ILLEGAL and denied entry for me with my service dog after i informed him that my dog was a service animal. He then showed me the sign at the door that said "No Pets. Only service animals allowed" yet he denied my service dog and asked me to show proof of my dog being a service dog and my dog had a service animal collar showing it's a service animal. I informed him that it's illegal to ask for any proof of a service dog and explained my disability yet very rudely he refused to let me dine in at all in the restaurant and said i had no disability and that he would not let me and my service animal in at all. I informed him that I would report it and he very rudely responded with "Report it or do what ever you want but my answer is no". This is very upsetting and I have reported it to the authorities. Please inform this horrible manager to learn the laws of the state of Florida before he takes any action on a costumer with a disability and with a service dog. My mom was picking up cantinas (daily prepped meals) Monday - Thursday and for a GREAT PRICE! Whatever protein you order (churrasco, steak, chicken, etc) is cooked PERFECTLY. I've never had one dry chicken or chewy steak from here. They definitely know how to cook! And being able to stop there on my way home to pick up my dinner is a HUGE PLUS! I had the chicken churrasco with gallo pinto (rice and beans) and sweet plantains. The gallo pinto was delicious. (Gallo pinto is Nicaragua's national dish usually served with every meal.) To me it tastes better than your typical rice and beans. I also had an order of fried cheese. The order was two pieces of fried cheese and a small side of cole slaw. The chicken was grilled perfectly. I ordered off the lunch menu and the portions of the sides and size of the chicken was generous. With the meal, they gave me two sides of chimichurri and home made picante. I used both profusely because they were that good. The ambience was casual.
