I went to hometown barbecue for lunch as I heard that they run out of the popular items if you go later in the day. Unfortunately ordering food at the desk is quite slow. There's only one person working the tablet and they struggled to keep the line moving even though it was quite long. Seating is free for all so we got a table after ordering and waited for our food. My group wanted to try as many things as possible so we ordered the brisket, char siu pork ribs, rib tips, and the sausage to eat at the restaurant. The best item by far was the brisket. It was super tender and melted in my mouth even the lean. I thought the flavor on the rib tips and the pork ribs were similar. Unfortunately, the rib tips were cold and tough which was super disappointing since everything else was hot. The sausage was solid but nothing memorable. It's spacious, cozy, and has a full bar which caught me by surprise. It has a nice western charm you don't usually find in Miami. We ordered their beef short rib, chicken wings, corn bread, watermelon salad, and corn and everything was fantastic. My favorite was the salad and the short rib -- the salad was nice and refreshing while the short rib was heavy, flavorful, melt off the bone kind of good. With a side of pickled veggies and some sauces it was perfection. The wings were kind of dry IMO -- I wouldn't reorder. But overall it was all delish. My and my friends love this place and regularly come here. Everything we've had from the menu has been great. Our go to are brisket, wings, and broccoli. The drinks are good too and I like their old fashioned. We also had an experience with hosting a 20+ person event in the outside area and we've had a great experience with the staff. The establishment is nice and clean on the inside, outside gives you industrial vibes since it's located by many warehouses.. I ordered the dry rubbed "smoked wings" and my friend had the smash burger from their happy hour special. It's walk up to order service and then they bring your meal to the table. My friend enjoyed his burger and gave it 6/10, on the other hand my "smoked" wings were as tough as a rubber sandal, very disappointing! This place is great. I don't know how else to describe it other than great, bountiful, hedonistic, and powerfully barbequean. Almost everything was spectacularly delicious and filled in that craving of needing a platter of meat. Meat things were juicy, a good portion even for four people, and came in a great variety to sample and see the amazing variety of transforming an animal into many delicious edibles. If I had to pick some favorites, it probably to have been the brisket, beans, and cornbread. Don't just stick to those, though, as you have to get a full platter of more variety to get the full experience. In addition to that, you probably also have to get the frozen pina colada they offer at the bar if you're not in the mood for slamming down a beer with it all. If there's one thing I'd change, it'd be to not get the wings--despite the great acclaim by a friend, they were rather dry outside and in and honestly you've gotta have at least have the inside moist and juicy or else it doesn't work.
