Unfortunately my friends and I stopped in to play pull tabs at this bar and fully intended to buy drinks after our gambling. But midway through our pull tab reinvesting one of the women bar tenders rudely asked us to leave. I respectfully said "okay" and she proceeded to harass the rest of my friends insisting we leave as we were leaving. We were not asked to buy drinks kindly while continuing to play instead, simply told to leave. This is extremely unfortunate considering we are well paying customers, and regulars here every time my friends come to town... sad to see this kind of ignorance with the staff and management. Friendly service cheap drinks and a great beer list topped off by great bar food . My boyfriend and I stopped in to Shots on the River after a friend's volleyball game there. We'd been there to watch other games before but I'd never had food or drinks here. The place wasn't too busy on a Wednesday evening so we got a big table right away. Our server was great and kept up with water refills and checked on us quite a bit while we were there. They have great specials for people on sports teams but you must be wearing a uniform (team t-shirt) to get them. I'd heard their wings were really good, so we ordered some with a side of fries. Our friend got a 12" one topping pizza that looked great! I'd definitely get that next time. The wings were pretty good, but not the best I've ever had. They were big and crispy with the right amount of sauce. I would probably order them again. The side of fries was okay but super salty. Food was good, and since it was a Monday their wasn't a lot of people there. The waitress was also the bartender, but because it was a slow day that wasn't a problem. the food came out SO fast and the portions were HUGE. We came for dinner Thursday night and had a nice time! We were seated in the main room that had one table, a fireplace, a pool table and a couple pinball machines. It was sort of weird, but the service was great! I'd definitely recommend sitting in the bar though. The main bar area has a dance floor and more high tops, regular tables and a full bar. I would love to come back in the summer for horseshoe or volleyball! This seems like a really fun summer hangout! The food was phenomenal, we got the beloved shot dots with ranch and nacho cheese. For 8$ it was a great portion and we loved both sauces. The ranch here is super good! We ordered the bbq burger with bacon and haystack onions, upgraded to onion rings (5 rings for 2.50 upcharge, we were hoping for more rings!) The burger itself was cooked correctly and very juicy. We also ordered the taco salad, and let me just say... this was one of the most AMAZING salads I've ever had. The taco shell it came in was the size of a watermelon - literally - and was filled with refried beans, Lettuce, red onion, jalapeño, taco meat and cheese. Both salsa and sour cream came on the side. I'm so bummed I forgot to take pics! Add two soft drinks and it still totaled less than 40 bucks before tip. The value was great and I can't wait to go back for drinks! read more

I joined a group of ladies that have been loyal customers of this place for MANY years for an after Christmas gathering. The server, Natasha was a bit overwhelmed and got little support from the two gals working the bar. Our table of 10 ladies were very patient, but after getting our drink order and delivering those and then taking our food order, she was AWOL for a good 20 minutes. I did see she was busy waiting on several other tables at that time, and nobody stopped by to ask if we needed anything. Some of us went up the bar to get a 2nd drink from the bartenders to enjoy with our meal. Some were sold a drink, and I was rudely turned away, even though I had cash in hand and was going to tip the bartender well. Then when some of the gals that did buy drinks at bar got their bill, they were charged a 2nd time for the drinks that they paid cash for. All of these drinks were purchased during happy hour and when we finally got our bill, some were charged full price. It was all very confusing and the poor server was not supported AT ALL by the bar. This was on a Wednesday beginning at 3:30 and went until around 6. The burger I ordered was decent, as were the onion rings. But if a place does not work as a team to support each other, then the quality of service goes down hill fast. I doubt I will return to this place as they have not changed their menu in over 5 years and the food is marginal at best. The service is lacking as well. I know it's hard to find good help these days and I have worked in the service industry all my life, but service training and support from leadership goes a long way. read more

I'm going to say that I'm a little mixed on this review. Do I give 4 or 5 stars. Let me explain. I try to give reviews from a couples point of view. Usually my wife and I agree on if it's good or not so good or just bad. We ordered the onion rings as a starter. I thought they were a little to greasy, my wife really liked them and thought they were perfect. I ordered the deluxe sub and fries. I thought the fries were good. The sub was excellent. My wife, surprisingly didn't order the Rueben. She ordered the club sub and fries. She liked the fries better than I did. She was glad she ordered the sub. She liked it. I had a couple bites and it was really good. I think I may have liked it better than mine. Now I've been here over 20 years ago before it was called "Shots". I kind of remember it looking about the same as it did then. Not so much the decor, just a run down bar type scene. Now this is not saying that this is a dive by any means. It's a decent place and I will be back again. So now you see why I was mixed on what rating to give. It just goes to show you that each person is different on what they like. I decided on 5 stars because the food and service were really good. I like all the food, just not as much as my wife did. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday because we were craving wings. We are fans of the Standale location, so we figured it was a sure thing! Walking in the front door the musty smell hit us first.. it was not real pleasant for a place you are going to eat at. They had fans going, so not sure if they were trying to dry something or not... Lots of places to sit or lounge. Arcade games, tv's, couches, pool tables, ect. Saw some private rooms, too. We choose the front part near the windows facing the road since we had our 1 year old with us and didn't want to bother other patrons there to drink beer and watch Sunday sports. Waitress was nice. Ordered the kid some broccoli and something else (can remember) to much on and it came out quick enough. My husband and I decided to order 20 wings and split them. They came out in a decent amount of time, however, only 10 wings. She said she made a mistake and would order the rest. They didn't come out by the time we had finished the first half, so we had to wait. While waiting, i read some YELP reviews.. funny enough, mis-ordering is a common theme. The wings were okay. Nothing exciting, nothing I'd run back for. Main reason we probably wont go back is the gritty bar like vibe. The smell was pretty bad, wasn't the cleanest (menus were sticky.. special tent was disgusting, floor was gross, highchair was very gross), and it was more of a bar crowd than anything. They have a pretty large patio that over looks the volleyball courts out back... so many a good place to grab drinks and hang out? Dunno.. wasnt impressed. read more

I was there a few weeks ago with my friend and we ended up hanging out with a bar regular. We were talking to the regular all night and a employee named Beth continuously walked by calling me derogatory names because her friend/ other employee named Liv had spoken to the bar regular in the past. When my friend and I were leaving Beth and another employee started screaming "whore" and "slut" and other derogatory names continuously telling me to "swing on her". I informed her I would not be fighting over a guy and informed her she didnt know me at all to be calling me these names. This week when my friends and I went back into the restaurant we were informed because Beth, Liv and the other employee didnt like me I was not allowed to be served by the manager/ bartender. I was trying to avoid conflict and somehow got banned, I know me and a few other regulars will not be returning and are extremely unimpressed with the unprofessionalism and blatant disrespect. Sad that a cool environment got ruined by such rude and embarrassing employees. read more

I would like to point out that I came on a Tuesday during lunch. Perhaps 25 people in the place. Came in 12:30, drinks arrive at 12:40, lunch order was not taken for another 20 minutes. Clearly the employee here does not want people in the restaurant during the day. After waiting another 30 minutes for my food I cancelled the order was leaving for McDonald's. Then she proceeds to tell me that she is the only one in the place. Well who was the other employee delivering food? And had the nerve to argue with that the food has been ready for us... What? This is a nice place. The food is good the service is fast and it's an interesting set up. It is an ok place compared to the other bars I've been to but it's not the best. Our server had no personality and made us feel uncomfortable. I'm not sure how the other servers are but this one (female) was kinda rude. This is the 3rd time my coworkers and I have tried this place for lunch. Every time, we receive exceptionally slow service. 35 minutes before our order was taken, another 40 before we received our food. In total, what was supposed to be a 1hr lunch break was forced to be almost an hour and forty minutes... FOR SANDWICHES. If the owners/managers pay attention to this at all. Know that your establishment has a horrible reputation at this point due to how poorly staffed you are during lunch. You are missing out on a great opportunity to have a busy lunch service. read more

The servers come back to check on us often and my iced tea is refilled continuously. The food is very good and we have had several different items. Though the menu says it is available until 1am and it was around 12am when we ordered. Charged for two beers when only one was ordered. Newly remodeled, totally renovated. Wow what they did to the old Tucan Pub / Westwood Ranch is unbelievable. Great atmosphere inside and wow all of the staff seemed to enjoy being there and serving the masses. The Shot's super burrito it to die for, and it is HUGE. Super flavor and big enough to share. It is not a martini bar. My friend and I each got a Bombay Sapphire Martini and used the only 2 martini glasses they had. Nice selection of beer, lots of TV's and pleasant atmosphere. Good place to go after work or for a meal with the group or family. read more

We were here both Friday and Saturday evening last weekend. It was packed both nights yet we received excellent service. On the menu it states half off certain apps which I ordered only to find out after receiving the billI they weren't doing the happy hour pricing because it was the day before a holiday?! My coworker and I eat here once a week usually and the food has been decent in our experience. The service on the other had is usually very slow. There might only be 2 or 3 lunch tables and food can take 20-30 minutes. We've had meals come out wrong as well and the reasoning was that the cook could read easily. Not sure if if was due to vision problems or literacy issues but it seemed like sometimes that should be fixed in either case. read more
