Years ago, this Showmars location used to be awesome. The food was good, the service was great and the employees were friendly and conducted themselves in a professional manner. Now, it's downright ridiculous and disappointing. ALL the employees stand around with their phones in their hands and won't even acknowledge you until they're ready. Last month, the man taking my order couldn't get it right because he was too busy on his phone. I had to keep repeating myself. The other employees behind the counter, also with their phones in their hands, were so loud, hooping and hollering as if they were a group of friends out on the town. Fast forward to this week and the reason i'm leaving this review... Again, I had to keep repeating myself to the employee taking my order. You guessed it ... she had her phone in her hand and wouldn't put it down. I could see what she rang up on the register screen, and I had to keep telling her, that's not right, that's not what I ordered. In addition, she wreaked of marijuana. What in the world is wrong with management at this location? I just can't fathom why this type of behavior and lack of customer service is tolerated. My family and I have decided we will not return to this Showmars location which is ridiculous because it's just right up the road from where we live. Came here for their 40th year anniversary special of the 40 cent fish sandwich. Haven't eaten at showmars in over 15 years. Was pleasantly surprised at how good their fish sandwich is. There were 4 to 5 pieces of lightly breaded flounder in this sandwich. Coated with the right amount of tartar sauce. We usually love showmars. We decided to try the one in Steele creek last night. It was absolutely horrible. My wife got the gyro sandwich and I got the gyro plate. Both our pitas and meat were so dry and old we literally couldn't eat it. Her gyro didn't come with anything other than sauce. No onions , tomatoes and lettuce like it's supposed to have. I'm going through cancer treatment and don't eat much - nothing is appealing. My amazing husband and caregiver works so hard and takes up slack for me plus I'm obviously never cooking good food for him right now. Tonight he was looking for a place to order from in Door Dash and asking if there was anything I could imagine eating. Everything he read on the Shownar's menu sounded good but again my appetite is a big fat ZERO. Finally I said I could probably do a few bites of potato soup or unseasoned fries. He ordered and it was very quickly delivered. Not only that - the bag was sealed for safety - something I greatly appreciate (why don't all restaurants have these bags?!?). Unfortunately, when he opened all the food - all hot and smelling good - no soup. I told him not to worry about it, but he was upset because I rarely eat as it is now. So he called. TEN minutes later, a very nice lady from Showmars, not Door Dash, was here with my soup and a special side. Now don't go calling these people for extras because they were so incredibly nice. I just wanted to shout out in this world of bad service and complaints, there are good, nice people who deserve your repeat business. They'll certainly be getting ours. I recently moved to the Lake Wylie area. Previously we often dined at the Showmars in Indianland and always had a good experience. Wednesday we tried the Steelecreek location. Disappointing experience. I ordered the fish platter which is my usual. The two pieces of fish were very small and one was broken into three pieces. A bigger problem was the attitude of the server who literally dropped the plates on our table. I asked for ketchup, he just pointed to the bottle ,which I didn't notice, on the table and walked away. We never saw another employee and never got a refill on our drinks. I guess we will just drive back to Indianland if we want friendly service and good quality food. read more

This place never disappoints. I love the gyros, the calabash shrimp, hushpuppies, and the French fries of course! They are reasonably priced and have daily specials. I always ask before ordering what the daily special are, which is the entree and then it comes with a side. The staff is always friendly, kind, professional, and patient. Traveling through Charlotte and we love our Local Showmars in Wake Forest so decided to stop in for a quick lunch. After ordering was told by the manager the dining room is closed. We were truly shocked as our local Showmars has had their dining room open for quite a long time now. We asked to used their restroom before having to leave and eat in the car snd were told they are closed too. Are you kidding me? What a shame this restaurant is still shut down when almost all other locations are open. We received a refund for our meal snd went elsewhere. You really need to open up to accommodate customers. I literally go to this site for a fish sandwich daily and I always ask that they cook my fish so that it's not overcooked but flacky. Today I go there and the Cashier and Kitchen Manager gave me a hard time. I was embarrassed and treated like my request didn't matter as customer. My position is that if they were not able to make the fish flacky ( soft) why was it done almost daily for me. Typically I am not treated in this matter and hope that this doesn't happen to another Customer. The Owner wasn't there and he is really nice. Hopefully he can talk with his staff.. This place is relatively new in the Steele creek area. I've visited a few times, enough to form a good opinion on this fast casual Greek restaurant. The staff is always friendly and the service has always been quick for me. I usually get orders to go. When an employee locks eyes with you it's usually followed by a smile. Nice these days. As far as the food is concerned, it's always good. I know what to expect when I come hear. I'm not looking to be transported to Greece while I'm eating or Anthony like that. We stopped in for a quick bite on a busy Sunday and knew Showmars wouldn't be too busy and allow us to get to our next event on time. I have been to Showmars multiple times, but not recently and never to this location I ordered the single patty mushroom and cheddar pita burger with onion rings and sweet tea. It was all okay, nothing exciting but not terrible either. The pita was actually really good, but the quality of the burger and toppings was just meh. The hubby had the four chicken tender platter with fries, hushpuppies, slaw and a side of tzatziki sauce. It was normal fast foodish quality and aside from the tzatziki sauce was nothing special. The sauce was quite tasty, those it's possible it was bottled. The table waitress who refills the tea and takes your plates was friendly enough and refilled our test before we departed with a smile. They have the "good ice" so I had to get a refill. I might could stretch it to a 3.5, but it probably wasn't a solid 4 star meal, so we'll stay on 3. We'd go back but it won't be the top of our first choices list any time soon read more

My wife and I have eaten at this location a couple of times, with no problems. Tonight we were in a hurry and asked for a take out order. After arriving home we discovered both Gyro platters we ordered were not as expected. Eating in they provide onion, lettuce, tomato, tzatziki sauce, and a nice presentation. Instead of even close to the standard we see dinning in, we were greeted with a pile of meat covered with wax paper, and a single piece of pita bread. (plus our ordered sides) I believe a consistent product between dinning in and take out would go a long way towards improving customer experience. Also note, we drove an additional 15 minutes to return to the store, in order to find our missing tzatziki sauce; which goes a long way in improving the flavor of the cold food we returned to. They did however offer 4 replacement sauces instead of the two that should have been provided. read more

They could have things that are listed on their menu. I ordered a bake potato on 11/17 and on 11/8 and each time they have indicated they are out of potato's. I asked for a refund and Kayla the shift manager did a refund but she offered no dialogue and didnt even indicate it was refunded. I had to ask her and she said yes. I have been getting the Original Pita Burger (now called regular size) at various locations (starting in college at the UNCC location in 1982) for almost 40 yrs. The pita burger patties in todays burger were approximately half the size of the patties I have always gotten- as if they took the originals & cut them in half. I know there are supply chain & staff shortages and restaurants are trying to stay afloat, so I will order from them again. However, if I get almost half a pita burger at the original price I will be forced to visit another location & hope this has not become a chain wide decision. read more
