Shame on me for not trying this North Carolina staple sooner--and double shame for judging it as just another fast food joint. And align your expectations! This is still fast food! Just a step above. On a whim, my wife and I stopped in for lunch yesterday. I hadn't been to a Showmars in probably 20 years, and honestly, I'd forgotten what it was like. I ordered the traditional gyro with fries, and my wife had the All-American Pita Burger with onion rings. You order at the counter, find a seat, and then they bring your food out on real plates--actual dishes you have to wash. I was shocked. In a good way. My pita bread was excellent. The meat could've used a touch more seasoning, and the tzatziki was very tart--almost too tart for my taste--but still fresh and satisfying. The fries were perfect. My wife's pita burger was solid, though the meat seemed more like gyro meat than a traditional burger patty. But those onion rings? Fire. Crispy, golden, and totally addictive. We were genuinely impressed--and a little stunned, to be honest. The restaurant was clean, the service was fast and efficient, and the whole experience felt way above what I expected. Friendly order taker. Not many customers inside but busy with call in orders. Neat inside and tv available for customers. This is a slower area with families and those not in so much of a rush so the environment is calm. Music is relaxing. Very courteous staff. read more

Every time we come here the food is delicious and the service is awesome! We have been here plenty of times and have interacted with many employees and we enjoy our experience each time. We usually order many different entrees but my main one is the Greek salad! I have had it with chicken, gyro and salmon and each time I have enjoyed my salad. I like the gyros here and the fish and shrimp! The pasta salad is also delicious! I have dined in and done takeout. When dining in, the employees have been attentive in seeing if we need anything or need our drinks refilled. The inside consists of many tables and the outside seating is closed in! Torn between giving it 3 or 4 stars so will give them the benefit of the doubt. Memorial Day and not sure what was going to be open for lunch. Did a little research before we left the house and determined Showmars was open. Turned out most places were open so we had a lot of options. We had dined here before but not sure why I did not write a review at that time. Showmars originated in Charlotte and is now a regional chain of Greek/Southern/American Cuisine. It's got something for everyone's taste. Walked in a placed out order at the front counter. Paid for it and they gave us a tent and our beverages and we went to find out seat. Word of warning, If it's breezy outside, do not take the booth next to the door to outside patio dining area. Every time someone enters or leaves, that breeze is magnified and funneled onto your table and anything loose will go flying. I had the Atlantic Fish Sandwich with tartar sauce on the side. Nice and flaky, very tasty with good texture and not oily. My unsweetened tea was perfect. My wife had the scoop or cup of Chicken Salad along with Fruit. She enjoyed it and the fruit was much more than the Crenshaw or Cantaloupe Melon fillers you often get. This was a real side of Fruit. Generally self serve although the manager and another staff person did check in on us to see if there was anything we needed. Very clean and when I went to the mens room, it was spotless. Prices are fair and the food is very good. Next time I'm going to try one of their Greek offerings. read more

Fast food Greek Style! Who would have thought. Pretty fairly well done and the food was solid. Nothing great, but well done and the staff were good & attentive. The shake machine was on the fritz, but I think that is par for the course of fast food joints. Had the Gyro wrap (not sure what was a wrap other than marketing) that had a good pita and fair protein. The baklava was absolutely not worth the purchase, but it was gooey & sweet - so it had that. After many visits to Showmars ordering their shrimp mini I was shocked when I was served a dehydrated portion of shrimp fragments for lunch today. When I brought my concern to the waitress, she insisted I speak to a manager on the phone, which I declined. Just as we were leaving an unapologetic shift manager came to the table. She insisted that the shrimp are pre proportioned and packaged suggesting Showmars has no control over quality. I told her I didn't care about a refund, only that I found the shrimp disappointing, which was exacerbated by her apathy. My granddaughters and I were taking my small dog to a vet appointment. Unfortunately, I got the time wrong and we were there an hour early. We had to kill some time and it was lunch time. Showmars was close by so we thought we'd go there. The problem was we had my pup with us and it was a 95 degree day, so I couldn't leave her in the car. We checked with the employees to see if we could bring her in and they were so nice and accommodating. We sat on the enclosed patio area right near an open window and enjoyed our lunch. My dog was on her best behavior and didn't even bark. I did keep her on my lap. Thank you, Showmars! read more

This used to be a great place to eat. They used to have polite caring staff. Not anymore. The food quality is sad. We just had fish. It tasted like it had been left out of the refrigerator all day. Hushpuppy's were cold and hard. The fries tasted like they had been cooked with the fish. And the staff don't seem to be concerned. I don't know what happened here, but it's a waste of your time and money. read more

first of all, the service was horrible. My first negative encounter was when one of the employees (short red hair) was incredibly rude to myself and my husband and spilt pasta salad on his crotch and proceeded to not apologize. 2nd of all the bathroom smells dank af. The manager was present but sitting in her little cubical and when she finally came out half her eyelash was falling off, overall very unprofessional. I also once witnessed one of the employees mopping the parking lot? also the food smells like when your dog farts under your covers after a long day of working at the Fritos factory. read more

We ate lunch here today and I was shocked to see that a bacon burger I ordered was as thin as a paper plate and stringy consistency. We have eaten here on other occasions and also other locations but never have we gotten a thin burger patty like this one. McDonald's would definitely put their burger to shame. I don't frequent Showmars but I recently went there and had lunch with my wife. The food was decent but most of all the emloyees and service were excellent. They came by our table several times to check on us and give us drink refills. They were friendly and looked like they enjoyed their job, which is a breath of fresh air. read more

Stopped by this location 15 minutes before closing time (9 p.m.). I expected the staff to be perturbed but that was not the case. They were all friendly and attentive. Ordering was a snap, as always at any Showmars, and the order arrived quickly. I typically order the calabash shrimp. This evening, I ordered a side of the summer fresh veggies. WOW! The zucchini, squash, and carrots were divine! I didn't notice any spices, perhaps it was what they cooked them in. I don't know but that is my new favorite dish at Showmars! read more

Signage above entry door says Denver Kitchen. Makes you wonder if you're entering another restaurant. Denver Kitchen ? I wanted to go to Showmars. Interior looks great. Recently remodeled? Clean, HOWEVER, the menu board on the wall is almost completely illegible due to glare from the ceiling lights against the glossy menu paper. I had to get a take out menu just to be able to read the menu. April, our host, was incredibly nice. Tonya, the manager on duty, brought our food and was a delight. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Food was perfect. Meal was great. Re-do that jacked up wall menu and I'll give 5 stars. read more

What can I say? Shomars is always consistently good. We have had take out twice thru Uber and all ther orders were just right. Their ranch sauce is so good. Kids meals are fairly priced. I'm glad we moved to a place with a Shomars! read more

This place has taken a turn for the worst. It used to a great little restaurant. The past two times we've visited the amount of shrimp in the shrimp platter has shrunk. The latest incident involved an online order that was placed for pick up at a specific time. We arrived at that time and the boy behind the counter couldn't find it. This went on for 15 minutes before another employee put his phone down and asked what the name was on the order again and found it. My son went in to get the order as I had my dog in the car and the girl behind the counter was very rude to him as well. Once we got our food home the shrimp was soggy and a very small portion. The soup was basically water with some cheese and broccoli. The vegetables were burnt on the outside and soggy on the inside. Absolutely disgusting and thrown down the garbage disposal. read more

This is really good fast food Greek food. Good gyros and fast delivery. We have used them several times for large group lunches for work.

I literally just walked out of this showmars and will never return. I ordered a shrimp platter special with extra fries instead of coleslaw and literally got the same amount of fries that I would have gotten with coleslaw. On top of that there was barely any shrimp! Not to mention the manager did not even offer an apology for it and couldn't even open her mouth to speak to me, but instead halfway nodded yes to the amount of food in the box. I will not return. Each time I come to this location, I get less and less food, but order the same exact entree. Won't be back. read more

I used to love Showmars but once they changed the menu it took a nose dive. The prices are too high for the amount of food you get. The last 3 times I ordered food to go they forgot at least 1 item. Once it was a whole box of fries, the next time it was onion rings and the ranch, the next time my son's entire meal! When they left out my sons meal that was it for me. Not only do they give you the run around when you call about missing food but the manager acts like you are lying. She literally told me the last time that she has to watch surveillance to make sure they forgot my son's meal!!!! Who the freak does that? I was shocked! So your telling me that everytime some calls you watch surveillance to make sure they are not lying to you? It's crazy! Once she seen that I was telling the truth she calls back an hour later to tell me they will put my name down and they will.give me his meal the next time we come in. I said I won't be coming back this is our last time I would just like a refund. She refused and then said if you come back we can throw in a dessert. My son had nothing to eat because you forgot his food and you call back an hour later! I think I'm entitled to a refund! Again she refused. So I told her my moms name and said give it to them when they come in because you absolutely will not get my business again. She took down my moms name and hung up. 4 days later my mom went to get the meal and dessert and she was told she had to order another meal to get the free one? Free??? She said no it's not free it's already been paid for. The cashier keeps telling her she has to order another meal. Finally my mom orders a kids meal pays and leaves with the food. Guess what? Her kids meal was wrong.....I mean by this point you can't do anything but laugh at the insanity. So now they have lost my whole families business and a few friends. It's sad because we do love the onion rings, but I will go elsewhere for onion rings there are other places that serve them and they are just as good. read more
