I was super excited to try the new Showmars in Wake Forest today. Showmars has been a staple of the Charlotte food scene for years. Showmars is a bit of a fusion restaurant, offering standard Greek dishes and greasy-spoon fare. The food I had was really fresh -- a fantastic fish sandwich cooked to perfection with more fish than I think I've ever seen on a fish sandwich. The fries were crisp. Both the tzatziki and baklava were on point. The decor was nicely done -- clean, bright, and modern. The menu was clear and readable. They have several different styles of seating on the inside, as well as a patio with several tables outside for enjoying the fresh air. All of the folks I met taking orders and serving were really friendly. If you have a chance, stop by and give them a try. read more

Very impressed- sounded like a strange concept to combine Greek with Southern but it works. There is something for everyone! Super clean. The owner (I think) was all over the place taking care of guests. All of the staff was cordial and smiling. Food was fresh and delicious. Great prices too. Heading to wake Forest to do some shopping & needed a quick meal. I don't eat meat. Husband wants a burger. Was intrigued by the name! Have to say, was pleasantly surprised! Had the grilled veggie platter. I couldn't finish it! For $10, a great variety of food. Husband had a bacon cheeseburger and said it was good. Staff is friendly, attentive & professional. Food made fresh & done quickly. I am a big tzatziki fan, this one was not authentic. Hummus was great. We will stop back for sure. read more

My wife had the Greek salad with the pita meat. It was good, but not great. We also tried the half and half with a beef gyro and salad. Both items were on the smaller size, but were fresh and healthy! The restaurant is new, nice atmosphere and comfortable seating. The place was busy when we were there and the place was noisy and not the location to go to discuss business. We will return as it's nice to start having healthier choices when dining out. read more

Best quick service food we have had in awhile! Tried the fish sandwich which was piled high on a good bun and a tasty tarter sauce. The cheddar mushroom pita burger was also large and tasty. A bit confusing as you order at the counter and then have a server assist once you are seated. They bring you your food, do drink refills and clear your plates. Once again an Amazing experience at Showmars the staff was incredibly nice and the World Famous Fish Sandwich was Sooo good and yummy! I love how the sandwich is piled with fish!! I lived in Florida for awhile and have never had a fish sandwich like Showmars! I think they should add more restaurants in the area (Brier Creek/ Leesville) and put some in Florida- you would put a couple seafood restaurants out of business Thank you Showmars for being consistently good! *Note I have had other dishes at Showmars and they are great too! read more

Good customer service and excellent food. It's a great, quick, and affordable meal option.

They offer Rotisserie Gyros. There is No rotisserie and they heat up the gyro meat on the grill top. Couldn't tell me if the meat was lamb.

Everything was excellent and well cooked. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Chicken Santorini is highly recommended.

We have been to Showmars several times. The food is always fresh and flavorful. My personal favorite is the flounder sandwich but the Showburger is also tasty. My toddler LOVES the popcorn shrimp mini meal. The mini meals are great for kids or those with smaller appetites. read more

Food was excellent, service was great, only problem we had was that there was no table for our party of six that is low enough to use a high chair! The high booth caused problems for our six year old and three year old as well. That's the only issue I have and why I couldn't give five stars. read more

New Greek Place in Wake Forest. This is a restaurant group that I used to frequent in Charlotte as a once-per-week lunch spot. Two of us go the gyro pita, one got the chicken pita, and the last a burger. For a brand new place they are already impressively efficient. A young lady welcomed us in, Ari took our order at the counter and was very helpful, Seth took care of us at the table. Ari checked on us and told me he came from the Charlotte place that I used to go for lunch. The food quality was very good, we'll be back soon. Recommendation: Gyro Pita. read more

Although I wasn't too impressed today at lunch, I look forward to coming back and trying other menu items. I had the pita burger and my son had the classic chicken pita sandwich. Both were just okay, not something I would order again. However the flounder and gyro platters that the table next to us got looked delicious and the decor is modern and comfortable. My main complaint was the service. We literally had someone coming to the table every couple minutes asking if we were okay. I was ready to scream. I had the half greek salad/veggie gyro combo and the food was great tasting and amazingly fresh. I loved the vinaigrette dressing and I'm pretty sure the pita came right out of the oven! First time trying this restaurant- it was a decision based on a whim- and both my husband and I both loved it. The restaurant was clean and well organized upon entering. It wasn't terribly busy, but did seem to have several patrons, all of which seemed to be enjoying their meal and the relaxing but modern atmosphere. Ordering was a breeze. I had the classic chicken pita, and my husband ordered an All American Pita Burger, both with a side of fries and drinks. We chose to sit in a tall booth, which I really enjoyed- super comfy for a restaurant booth. Our food arrived promptly, hot and fresh. We split our pitas in half and shared (mostly because we're both indecisive and wanted to try the entire menu). We were both pleasantly surprised- the pitas were filled well, and tasted amazing. The crinkle cut fries were cooked perfectly. Also, they have pebble ice in their drinks, which I am a huge fan of. We both received refills on our way out, and after discussing their local beer options, we both were offered a sample. We were very satisfied with our decision and experience here. I've had a very hard time finding a good Greek salad in Raleigh! This place had the best Greek salad I've had since I've moved down here! Also, the presentation of the salad was beautiful! My coworker told me about Showmars and I am glad I checked the restaurant out. I had the comb seafood platter and went back a week later to try their famous fish sandwich, all I can say is yummy and delicious. The seafood was fresh and it is cooked just right, not greasy too. I am thrilled Showmars has opened in Wake Forest!!! When I left Charlotte that was one of the restaurants I hoped would open in this area. It has always been consistent with fresh, delicious food!
